Somebody steals GHc15,000.00 and is given probation. Then the guy who steals mobile phone on the street goes to jail for years. Ghana justice.

The journalist did a poor job I believed the suspect paid back the GH¢15,000 to the victim.I am not defending the judiciary though,they have their own problems.

This does not make sense. I am sure the lady was made to refund the money before being made to sign a bond. The fact that the lady is pregnant helped her escape jail.

Is this the new justice that we have in Ghana? The judge and the prosecutor should bow their heads in SHAME. The are a big shame to Ghana justice.

A LOT OF CONSIRATIONS MIGHT HAVE COME TO PLAY HERE AND THE JUDGE USED HIS DISCRETION. WE WERE NOT TOLD WHETHER THE AMOUNT WAS RECOVERED AND IF IT WAS RECOVERED, THE JUDGE MIGHT HAVE USED THIS FACT AS A MITIGATION AGAINST A CUSTODIAL SENTENCE. EVEN THE PLEA AND DEMEANOUR OF THE ACCUSED PERSON CAN INFLUENCE THE JUDGE TO HAVE MERCY ON HER SO THIS JOURNALIST MUST NOT SEE THIS OUTCOME AS 'LEAVING HER OFF THE HOOK'

Has the Judge also benefited from savings made in previous thefts? Someone who was accused of stealing "charlie Wote" was on remand for seven (7) yrs and this thief who's only employment is to steal money at weddings signs a bond. She did not even tell the truth; gifts at weddings are recorded so the record will have shown GH¢15,000.00.

What is the basis for the bond? What is the Judge's name? We need to address corruption in the judiciary. You get judgement in your favour if you pay the judge!!! The judge should bow down his face in shame.
