A politician or a political party needs and alliance at a particular point in time. In February 1917 Lenin and the Russian Social Democratic Party (Bolshevic) had alliance with the rightist parties and even the army in Russia to overthrow the Russian monarchy.
In April of the same year Lenin wrote the "April Thesis" that called for the overthrow of the Provisional Military Council in Russia.
Kwesi Pratt together with some leftist forces joined hands with the NPP to overthrow the P/NDC. When NPP came to power in 2001 bt 2002 it was revealed that her policies were anti-Ghanaian, thus the leftist forces have to realign themselves with the NDC.
That is the tactics of any political organization.
