As a General Secretary, and knowing very well that the NPP is a mass organisation which believes in allowing the majority of the party members to elect its flagbearer, he Sir John had no right to decide unilaterally to impose Nana Addo on the NPP.
That said, Nana Addo is the man to beat, if he decides to stand again in the presidential primaries.

two things k4 and cash have in common are their extremely close ties with the ndc and now we hear of nana's dead in the night meeting with pepeni before to verdict to get paid or compensated , at least thats what the ndc are claiming . we are tired of leaders who betray our confidence and lack integrity . our people are suffering because of corruption and back door dealings , personally i am sure most would prefer characters like ken agyapong and sir john as flag-bearers as at least with them you know what you get. smooth talking double crossing backstabbing diplomats or sophisticated businessmen who cant talk the language of the masses and are cowards at heart are not needed . if one wants to be president one must know one must also be a commander in chief ready for war and if necessary fight from the bush . we dont need any weaklings hiding behind impressive cvs of service to useless institutions and ideologies that have never benefited anyone but themselves . k4 double-crossed the fantis who first supported prof eduboahen and now brings in another fool to try and force all Akans to serve manhyia which is the essence of the division orchestrated from the mind of prof awonoor in order to secure the lack of unity among the Akans . k4 continue this nonsense and we shall separate your head from your shoulders

The battle for NPP's leadership could lead to NPP's implosion. Shooting each other down in public is not only shameful and damaging to the party, but shows disunity at the heart of it!

I'd want to disagree with Mr. Frank Agyekum on this issue. I think Sir John and Hopeson Adoryeh and others have caused the NPP in many ways in the just-ended Supreme Court case, by making stupid comments while the case was still on.
However, I still believe Nana Akufo-Addo has been marketed very well than anyone in the NPP right now. The NDC knows that, even from the 2008. Our only problems is many people in our part get confused, not knowing what's really going on in politics. We must use our common sense. Late Prez. Atta-Mills was put forth by the NDC on three attempts before he won. Prez. Reagan of United States had to battle many times to become his party's leader. Why can't we just be smart and see where the problem comes from. The NDC have succeeded in fooling people who claim to be wise and educated in our party, thereby creating all these bullshit within.
During elections, too, they have their spin doctors telling all kinds of lies about Nana Akufo-Addo to destroy him and make him unpopular. Some NPP supporters have joined in this character assassination strategy forgetting that by their actions and utterances they're sinking the party.
I believe in NPP's strategic way of practise and running the party, characterised by formal equality of rights and privileges to all members. Everyone can contest for regional and parliamentary positions, as well as the presidential or flag bearer position, so far as he/she meets the requirements needed to qualify.
Our problem is how we allow the NDC to use all kinds of tricks to create cracks in the party to win election. We've got to have smart-thinking leaders who could read political situations or weather so the party could stay strong. All the Alan Kyeremateng faction and all other crazy schemes have been deepened and used by the NDC.
What our party executives should ask themselves is this: "who in Ghana's politics have been able to challenge the EC or the NDC in an election? None! Everyone have stood by helplessly when elections were rigged since 1992. I've posted this issue many, many times, even before the 2008 elections. Folks who've been following my postings on this website should prove me wrong.
The simply message is that the NPP needs to have smart people; who could help the party win elections and rescue Ghanaians.
In 2000, Kuffour won the elections primarily because Ghanaians had gotten fed up with the NDC govt. and needed a change. Many Ghanaians wanted change of govt. after suffering under the NDC AFRC/P-NDC govt. for 19yrs and that's what won Kuffour the presidential elections.
People ought to think deep about this issue and see where we've reached thus far, reflecting on where we've come from and map out our 2016 campaign strategy.
It's so amazing to note how some NDC scouts sit on the airwaves to dictate who should be NPP's choice of presidential candidate. I get sick when I hear their voices on the airwaves trying to decide for the NPP.

What Frank Agyekum is implicitly saying is that Akuffo Addo should not be endorsed to contest the 2016 election. Since he is the spokesman of former President Kuffour, I'll presume that, that is also the position of Mr Kuffour regarding the 2016 election---that NPP must choose a new flag bearer.
I am not a prophet of doom but I can assure all those agitating for a new flag bearer for NPP to know that any attempt to choose a new flag bearer to the 2016 election will result in a complete routing of NPP by the NDC. In fact that is what NDC want---that the NPP will make a silly mistake of changing Akuffo Addo for someone like Alan Kyeremanting or any Ashanti. The NPP will not get even 40 percent of votes if they choose this route. The NPP lost the 2008 election because President Kuffour strangely decided to support Alan Kyeremanteng who has nothing to show as a politician instead of supporting seasoned, extremely experienced, trustworthy and astute politician of Akuffo Addo's calibre. If Kuffour and all those who think like him decide to do this again, the NPP as a party will sink into total oblivion--mark my words. And one more caution, that Asante superiority nonsense must stop once and for all!
