IS CHAMBER OF MINES GOING BACK TO ITS OLD BAD WAYS? THE CHAMBER HAVE DECIEVED GHANAIANS INTO THINKING THAT IT IS A GOVERNMENT BODY BUT IT IS A CARTEL OF MINING COMPANIES. WE KNOW THEY WILL SOON ORGANISE PEOPLE TO PUT NEGATIVE COMMENTS ON THIS STORY. LET THEM BE REMINDED THAT JESUS IS COMING SOON. THEY WILL HAVE TO ANSWER FOR THEIR DEEDS. JOYCE ARYEE HAS ALREADY ABANDONED THE BOAT. I AM ASHAMED OF OUR MILITARY & POLICE COMMANDERS. WHAT DIRECTIVES DO THEY GIVE TO THEIR BOYS BEFORE SENDING THEM OUT?

"Four community members - Sumaila Fuseni; Kwame Amankwa; Nyamoah (Okele) Douglas Kofi and Dominic Nyame, all of Concern Citizens Association of Prestea, a local non-governmental organization fighting to protect community rights, were injured, arrested and put before court for daring to protest the extension of mining activities to their backyard."
If organised gangs block roads to prevent public hearing are arrested and put before court by the Police, does this constitute "brutality"???
"In the course of the exercise the four community members from Bondaye were brutalised by the Police and the Military without any provocation claiming that they were “galamsey” operators opposed to the mining operations."
Are you sure they were arrested WITHOUT PROVOCATION? What happened to objectivity and honesty in journalism? Who will arrest someone WITHOUT PROVOCATION?
Simply, the galamseyers didn't want the public hearing to take place so they could continue with their activities. Nothing is farther from the truth!

Go to Prestea and see for yourself. the illegal miners have destroyed all water bodies in the area with impunity. This they are happy with. The Pretea mine used to be government owned until 2002 so what did the government do to develop the town all these years as well as Obuasi? Is the country in the hands of the so called lawless people when there were more that 90 meetings on the project where the so call persons sat in?
What is happening to the royalities paid to the government? The 2012 royalties that should come to the district has nott been releasd. This is what so called CSO should fight for to used to develop the area. The royalities for 2010 was the one used to build the Prestea Huni-Valley District Assembly Block.
Nyame and his cohorts should strife for government to release the paltry allocation to teh assembly so that Prestea and its environs would see development. Johannesburg was not developed by the mining companies but the taxes they paid was used to develop it.
We have to hold our leaders accountable.
Thanks
