Thank you James. Now that the post-2012 election issues are behind us and our restored peaceful posture has been crowned with this great performance of our Stars, let’s work together to put Mother Ghana on the global map as our First President of blessed memory envisaged. Our Leaders should, as soon as possible, convene an infrastructural development team to formulate a three-year development plan aimed at equipping Ghana with networks of sewerage, drainage, and sanitation processing plants that would modernize the handling of our human and other wastes.

I know that there is the abiding question of how to finance such an ambitious program. However, we should start somewhere; if we don’t start it now, it would be daunting and may never happen. I suggest that Ghana, under the proposed three-year plan, should earmark all the revenue drawn from the oil industry for this sewerage modernization project. With the numerous other equally competing challenges, education, health care, electricity, etc., let’s proceed on whatever sources of revenue we had been operating on before we got blessed with the oil money. Modernizing our system is long overdue, and I am fully convinced that doing so would be a win, win for the country: it would encourage foreign investors to come to our country, it would create massive jobs for the unemployed, it would help keep us healthy, and it would be a lasting legacy that would etch the name of the President as one of our greatest presidents of all times.

Again, to foster harmony in tackling our challenges, these and all other programs should holistically use all Ghanaians across the board, ignoring party, ethnic, and tribal lines and focusing on the merits, regarding who are the most qualified and skilled to do the work.
