Zambia came to do a job. Well, Ghana are no push-overs, as the Zambian coach rightly said "this is Ghana, not a small place of football".
Congrats Black Stars.

HE IS BETTER AS A ATTACKING MIDFIELDER OR EVEN A STRIKER.WHEN U PLACE HIM ON THE WING, HE HOLDS UNTO THE BALL TOO MUCH. WHO NEEDS THIS? PUT HIM IN THE MIDDLE. 1, 2 TOUCH N PASS IS GOOD FOR DEDE....AA THINKS HE IS A COACH, BUT HE DOESNT UDERSTAND SOCCER...ZAMBIA PULLED 1 BACK BCOS THERE IS A COMMUNICATION BREAKDOWN BETWEEN MENSAH N BOYE. BOYE DONT WANT TO LISTEN TO MENSAH. LIKE I SAID BEFRE THE GAME. MAKE SURE U DONT ENTERTAIN ZAMBIA IN THE 18. CLEAR ALL BALLS. BUT NO, DID THEY LISTEN? THE ONE GREAT CHANCE ZAMBIA HAD IN THE 18, THEY SCORED! AA WAS SIMPLY INTERESTED IN PLAYING ZONE DEFENCE AGAINST GH. HOW DO U PLAY ZONE DEFENCE IN UR OWN BACKYARD? DATS IS WHY THE GH PLAYERS COULDT MOVE UP AND DOWN. THEY MOVE UP, AND SHOOT, AND RUN BACK TO DEFEND...WAA LOOK. AT HOME? IF U ARE PLAYING LIKE THIS AT HOME. HOW WILL U PLAY WHEN U ARE AWAY? ALTHOUGH WE QUALIFIED N BEAT ZAMBIA, I THINK GH MUST BE ASHAMED OF THIS SCORELINE. EVEN ETHIOPIA WAS ABLE TO HOLD ZAMBIA AT THE AFCON 2013 TOURNAMNT....HOW MUCH MORE GH. WITH ALL OUR FOREIGN BASED PLAYERS, PLAYING AT HOME...

Well done boys, you really did well, except that our expectations were too high.
Kwedwo Asamoah did held his position beyond my expectation. His position was the engine of our team, and like I said before the game began, his performance was going to decide the game for us and it did. His shoot was superb. To me, it should be rated among the best goals in the qualifying matches.
Adrea, though, was playing as if the match was an exhibition match. I really didn't see his seriousness today.
Folks, let us be frank, Essien still has it. He just needs to switch clubs and all would be fine for him. I know he loves Chelsea but it is about time he let go of his favorite club and think about the left years of his future career.
Daniel Opare, I will say, is too dangerous at the defense. He nearly created a penalty at the end of the match. We were very lucky there.
All the same, we have qualified to the next round.

Unfortunate we conceded the goal soon after his entry.

Diamond, I didn't Andrea's game today. His creativity and give and take passes were not going through that much. He usually creates problems for opponents' defenders but I saw only two threads from him in this match. That is what I'm talking about.
Draw my attention to some of the threats he created besides the one at each half.
By the way, his seriousness I was talking about has nothing to do with his smile in games because that is how he is. He plays whilst smiling; therefore, that wasn't what I was talking about. One could be serious in a game and still the facial expression wouldn't determine his seriousness.
Asamoah Gyan, on the other hand, was so serious in the match, worked hard but couldn't produce that much. For that, even though, he couldn't produce as he does, I still saw the extra hard work in him today. It was just unfortunate that things didn't go his way today. For him, you can see how serious this match was to him.

You've just agreed with me that his facial demeanour has nothing to do with the magnitude of his seriousness.
Isn't that the same thing I effectively said in rejection of your charge?
"Adrea, though, was playing as if the match was an exhibition match. I really didn't see his seriousness today".
Why not tell me what you saw that made him not serious in your eyes?
I do not keep second-to-second or even minute-to-minute thrusts of players, but my overall very-close reading told me that Dede was very threatening, and made more than the two threads that you're referring to.
2. Gyan was close-marked out of scoring, but I think he did well.
It was a tough game.

POW, the song is an old British ditty originally composed as a secret code for army mail couriers during World War I. It developed into a children's rhyme after that. It continued to be sung in the British army and arrived in Ghana (then Gold Coast) through our contingent of the Royal West African Frontier Force during World War II. Our soldiers sung "Lo-pita Lo-pita", a wrong pronunciation of I "dropped it, I dropped it" that was unfortunately adopted all over the country. School teachers who were trying to make sense of "Lo-pita" taught their children to sing "Lord Peter" without being aware of the correct original phrase. If you go to the mail room of the British army base in Birmingham, UK, you will see a World War 1 memorial with the song (and its original correct lyrics) inscribed on a plaque. So, POW your teacher (and mine too) were wrong.

POW, you are partial when it comes to Diamond and I. Here is my reason.
Here was how the whole thing began.
My comment:
"Adrea, though, was playing as if the match was an exhibition match. I really didn't see his seriousness today."
Diamond responded & with some questions:
"No, Dede played well."
"What did you want him to do?"
"Do you want him to play in frowns and anger before you know he is serious?"
Diamond's first statement was his point of view. It was how he saw the match, so I didn't argue with him there. If I wanted to do so, based on that statement, I had to provide my reasons which I didn't want to go in and out with him. The moment I respond, we take it to the next level. We have that history and so I wasn't prepared to go there with him. Besides, when Diamond and I are arguing, it takes a new dimension. Therefore, I left it there. Moreover, that was how he saw the match; contrary to mine, I saw it exactly how I posted it.
Now POW, here is a question for you. Was Diamond asking me questions after he disagreed to my comment about Dede?
Below were those questions:
Diamond:
"What did you want him to do?"
"Do you want him to play in frowns and anger before you know he is serious?"
After these question, were you POW expecting me to respond or to leave it? Was Diamond not talking about the players facial expressions?
This was my response to his questions:
"His seriousness I was talking about has nothing to do with his smile in games because that is how he is. He plays whilst smiling; therefore, that wasn't what I was talking about."
I went ahead and gave an example with the performance of Asamoah Gyan to let Diamond know that I wasn't talking about Andrea's facial expressions on the field but his performance.
So now tell me, POW, where did I go wrong? The guy asked me questions and I responded and you are telling me I'm going round and round?
This is why I say when it comes to Diamond and I, you tend to be on one side. That doesn't bother me. What bothers me is that you miss the point I'm making when you become partial.
Take a note of that. I advise you to read through both comments properly before you side. I don't see anywhere in my comment I was wrong. Grammatical errors, I agree, but for context, I wasn't wrong in anyway.

The final tackling by jersey number #4 was a COMPLETE PENALTY KICK against Ghana but the referee somehow did not call it.
Also, jersey number #23 was very lucky to not have been send off or the Black Stars not have been defeated because of his very poor performance.
THE NUMBER #23 IS WAY BELOW THE QUALITY OF A SENIOR NATIONAL TEAM.

Have you forgotten what he has done for us at CAN 2010 and WC 2010 with his playing style?
Encourage, and be grateful.

Yes, we jubilate that the Black Stars have beaten Zambia to qualify for the next elimination series. Still we must give credit where credit is due and concede that "small boy" Zambia is a worthy opponent and has exposed some weaknesses in our game plan. In fact, you can bet your two balls that all the teams that will be playing the Stars next will study the video of the game very well and plan on taking advantage of the weaknesses they identify. The smart thing for Coach Appiah to do is also identify these weaknesses and strategize to eliminate them. "From others mistakes, wise men correct their own"!

thanks to technology that people like you can come on the internet and talk trash. how dare you call the Zambians and their team "small boy." what were you trying to say, dummy. we do not want to open old wounds, but check the history of the Zambian national team before and after the horrific plane clash, which took the lives of precious footballers that left only two of their players. people of your kind always try to play 'SMART' BUT NOT BEEN 'CLEVER'. mid you every team has a weakness. if you want to counsel COACH APPIAH, tell him to be CLEVER AND WISE, but not to be Smart. so you call yourself a wise man?

We dominated the middle of the game and they played well in the beginning and the end. The key to this game was the coach telling the players not to be scared of taking long range shots. In the end, that brilliant long range shot by KASA was the key. A couple of points about the returnees. Dede was good but sometimes he dribbles a bit too much. Essien is okay as a sub but is a bit slow. I would not bring him into a game if we were behind. You bring him in when trying to hold on to a lead.

Look at the vital stats - Ball possession; shots on goal; corner kicks; goals scored.... Black Stars lead in all departments. Zambia's goal was from a set piece- part of soccer. Ghana's goals were all scored after systematically unlocking the Chipolopolo defence completely. The best goal on the night came from Kwadwo Asamoah. The most passionate and positively voiceferous supporters were also Ghanaians. Coach Appiah was the most tactical and composed coach on the night. These are factual reasons why Black Stars won.

I think the team was quite well coached. His substitutions were proper and he obviously told the players that they should take long range shots when available and it ended up paying off.

We had a few defensive blunders that can be fized, but overall, if we play like that every game we will be able to win a majority of games we play. That is really true, because every male born child of Ghana has played soccer before. at the back of our homes, colts, @ the elementary school, to high school and to college, even our crippled brothers knows how to play. SOME OF US PLAYED BAREFOOT. THE TRUTH IS THAT SOCCER OR FOOTBALL HAS CHANGED. BUT THOSE THAT PLAYED IN THE 60's & 70's were better & disciplined than these OUR MODERN DAY players that have no RESPECT or DISCIPLINE. I said earlier that i was not scared of chipolopolo and all their mouthy talks. The Back stars has won in a very tight competition of its kind. i would therefore take the opportunity to congratulate the lads to show their prowess at a crucial stage of the world cup qualification. Couch Akwesi Appiah has to re write agenda and unify the team by bringing in sulley muntari as quickly as possible to hold the opposition at bay. Last nite game was wide open and thanks to the early goal score by mageed aided by john boye my great nephew to slow them from advancing furher in the early stages of the first half. The opportunity was there for grasp but i think Akwesi appiah can involve sulley muntari and kevin prince boateng in their next and final home and away game which could mean scoring more goals in the first leg if the game happens to be played in our home ground. The defining moment came when kojo Asamoah launched the 30 yard drive which the Zambia keeper had no answer. But there was something missing in the midfield as chipolopolo started to find a way back into the game and those are the times when sulley muntari is special in counter attacking and shooting hard from range to frustrate the opposition and that was exactly what was missing from the very beginning of the second half. Kojo Asamoah is brilliant and strong with john boye defending really like a lion the Black stars showed they really want to touch down at Rio de jenero Brazils capital once again in their third consecutive appearance in this cglobal competition. A win is a win and i for one as a footballer can tell you the Black star,s biggest problem is the midfield and mr Appiah should consider at the earliest possible time to involve muntari as quickly as possible and bury all those trivial fuse that has reduced the morale and confidence of some supporters and the public in general. The packed home crowd did a fantastic job cheering from beginning to the end and i thank them for their continued support and noise making that lifted the and kept the Black stars going during those difficult moment when it seems Zambia was heading for another goal and nick the points from the Black stars. On Asamoah gyan i think what he actually need to do now is to try and hold the ball and hit target, football is about holding the ball and finding open spaces as well as effective distribution which can produce something spectacular in the end. Lets applaud the lads, they are still learning but ll eventually get there. I can tell you there was absolutely nothing wrong with the squad presented last nite. DEDE Ayew scared the Zambians and i wouldnt use the word selfidh as others might think but his presence was a massive blow to the chipolopolo but tribute to Zambia as they made an all out effort to come back only for the Black star,s defense to disapprove. It was a nail biting scenario but all in all the win or draw was what the Black star,s needed to advance further into the final qualification. Am very much sure and optimistic the black star,s will qualify to Brazil. Well done Boys.

There were some guys who supported Zambia and one of them was KWABENA;you suker. Today I saw football, Zambians played good football in the second half, but the experience ones won. God bless our homeland Ghana
Where is Kwabena? Chipolopolo are still searching for Polo. Ghan 2: Zambia 1.
Do you have something to say?
Ghana all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good job guys
Well done Black Stars, good luck in the next match!
Good job.
Where are the Zambians who were saying they will beat Ghana?!!!!
Now to all Ghanaians runing their mouth that Ghana BS doesn't need these players what do you have to say? Essien on Bench is 100x better than most of the guys.
Even though Zambia lost this epic match, they gave us a run for our money.
I will forever respect Zambia, they are a force to be reckoned with in African football.

There is so much double standard in everything done in BS. AA told the whole world he will not call any player who is not fit. Aamoah Gyan just said he could not even train with his club. Why ws he in the team? Double standar ...

The Zambians were too agressive. Black Stars had to relax and pick the points. Simple!!!

We did not dominate the game without all those stars...the formation was terrible! This coach is winning just because of the players own abilities...when we get tougher opponents we will be left lacking.
I respectfully DISAGREE with your assertion, it was a well BALANCED game; at least give Ghana and Zambia credit, both teams can play.
However, with the exception of Mohammed Rabiu, the other subs were merited/spot on.

Unity is the key to success but to get unity we must learn to respect each other, CORRUPTION is disrespect so Mahama, do something about that, learn from the Black Stars.

Zambia should learn to be professional.I have never seen a team that make so much noise like Zambians. Even Spain did not show so much arrogant when they played Haiti
Nonsense; just propaganda. Name one Zambian player that made noise. The only noise made was from social media outlets or non players. Other than that, the Zambian tema was very professional and outplayed your team.

Say that again, Yaa. It's amazing how these average Zambian team thought they were going beat Ghana in Kumasi; when they couldn't even beat Sudan over two legs.

Goalkeeper Mweene.
In the brag, he said he'd send Gyan on permanent retirement.

Just answering your request.
You're right on points. This Mween guy bragged too much prior to today's game. Unfortunatel, Kwadwo Asamoah's shot "MWEENED" pass him.
Mweene gave up the possession that resulted in the build up to Kwadwo Asamoah's goal. Kwadwo Asamoah handcuffed Mweene, froze the Zambian defence, and left Mweene catching k))y)) (air). With such a brilliant shot from distanc ...
