The reality is that Ghanaians know that solar makes sense but they are not willing to spend money on solar. They would rather build mansions, buy cars and spend money at funerals. It is easier for people to keep yelling at ECG. There are plenty of home systems and other solar devices people could buy to make their life easier but they are against the idea of spending significant money on solar.

I am rather surprised at the suggestion of nuclear energy. We were not even capable of looking after our public toilets,so we closed them,we are not even capable of looking after our gutters and we talk of nuclear power, those advocating for nuclear power must have their brains properly examined.I suspect those people sniff or drink cement or on substance abuse. Have they not heard of SOLAR or WIND POWER which is safe? What is wrong with people who should know better in Ghana? The government must not entertain any suggestion of nuclear energy for our electricity and rather invest in SOLAR or WIND TURBINES.

Solar PV prices worldwide are very low. I went solar with 2 houses in Tucson, Arizona in the USA, and found that I produced twice as much electricity as I use. The power company actually pays me. If the neighbor had wanted to, I could have powered his house, and he could have paid me instead of the power company. It makes sense to share with neighbors and keep the money local.

Solar, thermal, biomass and wind energy are the way forward with our abundant sunshine, wind, gas and rubbish we produce daily.
