Mr. Owusu Afriyie or indeed, any other of those dissatisfied party members can bypass Nana and his group to file for review. Does it not dawn on him Sir John that even if they use their members on the Supreme court reverse the decision, they would still be confronted with the selective way of choosing mostly NDC strongholds in their petition? Those judges who sided with their case also recommended re-run in those areas affected.

Does it further not dawn on him that a review would rather worsen their plight? How could Sir John suddenly be able to lead NPP to overturn votes and amass enough such as would erase the over 300,000 vote deficit in those NDC stronghold?

Nana Addo´s resolve not to call for a review is the most prudent decision he ever taken since he embarked on his campaign for the presidency. NPP can all the same, chose to go back for the review and find out if it would not only deepen their woes.

The best alternative however, would be for them to do away with any foolish pride and regroup to prepare adequately for 2014.

Why do I say this? Can you imagine two boxers in a ring, same ring, and one losing the fight and blaming it on the slippery nature of the boxing ring? Assuming that it was true that the ring was slippery, were both boxers not in the same ring so that both boxers were equally impacted? Why would NPP claim victory for the same condition that impacted them during the election? Another analogy, why would a failed candidate in an examination claim pass candidates were favored by difficult questions set by the examiner? This failure can only be attributed to inadequate preparation by the failed candidate. NPPs message did not convince electorates – free education… everything was hooked unto free education. All die be die deducted marks, kill all Ewes, Gas by leading members, at all cost… and twisting of facts on discussion programmes, the candidates, yen akanfo> etc. They should stop accusing the SC judges of bias when they have not been able to produce a single evidence to prove even a single vote cast by filling complaint form. This case is a frivolous case indeed, it should have been thrown out long ago. When you listen to them you marvel, they are twisting the judgment to mean that SC has given the green light for over voting, voting without BMV, presiding officers need not sign the documents. Only seared minds could be making such deductions.

Ghanaians just went through a historic political process which hopefully might be emulated by the rest of the continent. However, in the last couple days, this positive assessment of the Ghana seemed to be clouded by some of the leaders on the losing side, who are trumpeting an aggressive measure to overturn the Ghanaian Supreme Court verdict on this issue.
From their comment, one can tell these leaders don’t know a thing or two about law, because the Supreme Court of any nation is the final arbiter of any legal contention between two parties. The Supreme Court is one of the three branches of government, and their decision can only by undone by either the executive or the legislative through the complex process of check and balance. What the Supreme just did is called judicial review, and you cannot challenge judicial review, in other words, you cannot ask any court or government institution to review what the Supreme Court has already reviewed. Unless there are some hidden constitutional interpretations that embolden these individuals to make such outrageous statements.

If a judge upholds a voting without biometric verification, how can Atuguba lie to us by saying the very opposite of what was rightfully stated by the judge in question? On the 29th of August, I told you Atuguba will be judged by God Almighty before the day ends the next day so you see, I told you so. Atuguba must be imprisoned for life for lying about what some judges said no verification no vote petition. Also he said the documents was ready at the registry anybody who so desired should see the registry for a copy but it was a blatant lye. This man must be charged with contempt and imprisoned for life.

so why is Owusu-Afriyie and his lot trying to 'dig up and squeeze the milk out of the sand' when the die is cast? Are there no wise heads and proper leaders in the NPP clip their wings and bring them to heal on this matter? Or is this part of their desire to "make the country ungovernable"?

This posture does not win you elections. If anything, the electorate actually TAKE NOTE AND PUNISH YOU AT THEIR EARLIEST OPPORTUNITY. It is a wholly unproductive exercise and will not achieve anything.

Can anyone imagine how Ghanaians would feel if people were "dragged" back to court and the process started all over again? We have paid enough for this and don't quite wish to see a repeat of what was not such a good movie in the first place. Please spare us the aggravation of spirit will you?

Spend time praying and meditating and seek God's face for the way forward as far as your contribution to the nation goes. That's a better use of your time.

It's over, the petition has been reviewed, a verdict given and the flag bearer has accepted the defeat. What is the point of prolonging these kinds of silly rhetoric?? There is a lot of melancholic supporters who could do with some real leadership and not the populist nonsense being churned out by the likes of Gabby and Sir John. The NPP has always had a good base of leadership and should be thinking of rebuilding for the next election now. In that case, you the one (NPP) , who want to play it fair would always be cheated. Don't you know that in primary school, the pupil who is seen to be coward is the one every pupil will beat at the least provocation?. Its unfortunate that, NPP wants to behave as if we are in Heaven. Here on this earth, there can't be any completely incident free event. NPP!!! bite a little. Look at the mess NDC is putting Ghana in today. People see NPP as ones to save the nation (Ghana's hope for the future), but you are not doing what would get you power. You think Mahama used all these military tactics for nothing? He has succeeded in bringing all Ghanaians into submission just to ensure that, he is not removed. It has worked perfectly for him. That is African politician for you. He is ruling with brute force, but in a crafty manner. NPP wake up. Anyone who was close to me would bear me out that, before the SC verdict on 29th, I kept on saying that, by the way Nana Addo is playing it so cool, the judges would rule against him because they would weigh the option. If Mahama wins Nana would keep quite as he had been doing all along in Ghana (not wanting any blood to flow), but if Mahama loses, his people would cause mayhem in Ghana. That was the bottom line for the judgement they gave. As for what happened at the SC the past 8 months, they put that aside completely. Nana should have stood on his ground on the "all die be die mantra" to at least sound warning to people that, if he is cheated, he would strike. Strategically, even if he would not cause any trouble, that alone would have put some fear in the NDC and by extension the SC judgement. If NPP continues this way, I am afraid, they would go back to their political wilderness again.

I can't understand why a party of its standing can continue to pursue this case even when it's untenable and times are clear such unabated political litigation only bruises the wounds of the nation and not in any way helps it! That clause to accommodate a review could be a constitutional flavoring, in my view; it carries not realistic solace to the party seeking it. A non-starter!

But I've written elsewhere that the NPP will do everything and anything to bring the country to its knees to grab power.

The government of the day and the security agencies should take the warning given by Wereko Brobbey about these nation wreckers very seriously. He obviously knows what he's talking about. It's about time these children of bomb throwers were kept in check for the nation to enjoy peace.

Before the case went before the SC, majority of their supporters were against it because they felt there was no way the party was going to win but they were cowed into silence by the rabid few who miscalculated that with the majority of the SC empaneled appointed by Diawuo Kuffour, the party would win. They discounted the fact that with whole world watching, there was a limit to what these partisan judges could do.

Now that there is a verdict,the NPP is behaving true to prediction. What Ghanaians don't know is that all those masterminding the latest move ARE COWARDS who will tuck their tails into their behinds and leave the country at the drop of a pin when shove becomes push. We saw them in 1979; we saw them in 1981; and we saw them during "Kumi Preko." Ghanaians shouldn't fall again for this nonsense.
