We all know where Tarzan stands!! At the onset of the petition, he bitterly criticized the NPP for taking the issue to court. He was of the opinion that, it was unnecessary and it would fail. So instead of wasting time and resources to pursue the petition, the party should drop the case and start earnest preparation towards Election 2016.

Later, he also attacked the personality of Dr. Bawumia by claiming that he (Bawumia) was clueless etc. after Bawumia had done what most people easily adjudged to be an excellent job as on his cross-examination by Tsatsu Tsikata.

Therefore if today, Tarzan is predicting 9-0 as the outcome of the supreme court's judgement for whoever will win the case, it means that he is infact concluding that Mr. Mahama and NDC will win by 9-0. This is what Tarzan wants to tell the world!!

I stand to be corrected but this is my frank and humble opinion!

The NPP as a party that prides itself of acceptance of diversity of opinions and open to criticisms should not have attacked Dr. Brobby for his comments on the case.

But their behavior betrayed them and showed their true colors to Ghanaians and the world. So do not try to put words in the mouth of Dr. Brobby.

Really? Surely, there was no tribe or ethnic group known as "Asante" prior to Osei Tutu and Okomfo Anokye bringing together the rebellious subjects of the kingdom of Denkyira, which rebellious subjects, btw, included many bonafide Denkyeras themselves, to wage war against their master's household then led by Ntim Gyakari, defeated him and formed a new entirety known as Asante which incorporated that Denkyera too! All the small chiefdoms and people that formed that union became known as Asantes, and since Okomfo Anokye was an integral Founding Father (no dispute about that, abi?) how can someone deny him the accolade of becoming an Asante himself? After all, it was he who decreed the fearsome "afisem" taboo, whereby even the background of freed and assimilated slaves couldn't be revealed upon pain of death! So whatever your origin, once you're incorporated, you become an Asante eventually. It is like becoming Arab. Your ancestors don't have to come from Saudi Arabia in order for you to claim Arab ancestry. So whether Anokye is an Nzema, as some Nzemas have claimed, an Ewe, as some Ewes have been claiming or a Guan from Awukugua in Akwapim, which I think was most likely, he became an Asante by virtue of what happened. Yes, not even Osei Tutu was an Asante before that momentous occasion!

The same can be said for practically all the ethnic/tribal groups in Ghana. None is pure, having people from different linguistic and cultural groups forming them. The ancestors decreed that no one should point a hand behind anyone's back and mention his/her origins. One can still pay a heavy fine for doing just that!

All said and done, Tarzan has written a thoughtful piece, worth reading rather than the heap of trash some write here. People like him should share their thoughts more often in spite of the ad hominem attacks on them.

It is a flywhisk of any symbolically powerful quadruped, not necessarily a horse, which is a recent importation to Akan culture.

"Bodua" is used to invoke curses on one's enemies, that is why it called "Bodua."

Obviously, Tarzan has to look for his ancestral roots from outside the Akan nation.

My ancestor is Osei-Tutu I, by way of Nkoranza to Manhyia and Asiakwa; Offinso is my granduncle. Nobody can contest this fact.

Using the term 'fly-whisk' could cause some folks to think "Bodua", as our folks knew it from the beginning, could be any artifact made of something else other than the Tail of an animal. Incidentally, 'Bodua' is used by many people who own one for a 'fly-whisk', even as they often want the Public to believe it signifies some exceptional spiritual powers they possess.

There may be imitations of 'Bodua' made of artificial or synthetic fibers. But its original form would be a processed animal Tail, as you alluded to.

BTW, why do you suggest Tarzan has to seek his ancestral roots outside Akan? Should his claim to Okomfo Anokye's lineage stand, would he not still be within the Akan family? You made it sound like Okomfo Anokye was not an Akan. Gee, for once, I thought you were siding with the fatuous, farcical claim by some non-Akan that Okomfo Anokye hailed from Anlo.

It was during his saty at Awuku Gua as an 'okomfo' , a fetish priest or a traditional spiritualist that through his mystical spiritual omens through the deities that he was supposed to have conjured the 'golden stool'- 'sika gua kofi', supposedly, the powers of the Asantes. In reality, it was through Okomfo Anokye that some of the various reminants of the nomadic Akan groups were brought together to form the now 'Asante'. For some reasons some Asantes refused to accept this historical fact that Okomfo Anokye(Okomfo a ofiri Ngotse i.e 'Ngotse okomfo'). But those who have researched deeply into the formation of 'Asante' as a tribe would throw an affirmative view on this fact. Unfortunately, many has been mislead to believe that Okomfo Anokye was an Asante. It is also interesting for you to know that the Akwamus were very powerful during those days even more than the Asantes because the Akwamus were already a united group of the nomadic race long before Okomfo Anokye's mystical and mysterious conjectural. The unfortunate thing about some of our Africa history is that many were not documented. They are mainly oral history and so every person seems to rely on what they were told by their fathers, grandfathers and passed on to their great, great grant children and so on without any intelligent questioning and reasoning. The only way to establish the validity and reliability of our history is by a proper research. The challenge is on you and I otherwise, we would foolishly and unintelligently be defending 'Ananse' stories or tales instead of the real things which had really come to passed in our people and country e.g culture, language and heritage. .

Okonko, Tarzan's prediction may too ambitious. Form what I observed throughout the hearing I am hoping for 6-3 majority decision (whichever way). However, when at one point the Justices ruled against an application with the Presiding Justice adding that they had enough evidence to make their decision (even before the hearing ended) I almost assumed that a unanimous decision was likely, so Tarzan could be right. It's now less the 24 hours so we have no long to wait. Tarzan will have a fiver from me if he gets his prediction right. I know a fiver is nothing to Tarzan but it's just a gesture of goodwill.

For example, Nana Kwame Ampadu is one of my favourate hilife artist but the names of the animals he sings about confuse me since I struggle to know what they are in English. Recently, I asked listeners on a London based Ghanaian radio station to tell me the English names for "Cici kwabrafo" and "pataku". I am not sure if I got the Akan spelling correct but to my amazement they were bear and hyena respectively. I had no idea what those two words meant. Did you know?

Boodua is usually found in any traditional fetish shrine, any traditional royal stool room or palace. They are EMBLEMS or REGALIA that signify spiritual powers, and authority. The fetish priests(tesses) would use them to invoke spirits, curses, or even spiritually cleanse the body, items, spots suapected to be harbouring evil spirits etc. Hey I ma a true son of a VOODOO MAN, ok? So, believe me.

The decision of the wise judges should be such as to stop any further future attempts by arrogant sore losers to disturb the electoral peace of our democracy. While admitting to the ample room for improvement in the electoral process, the sovereignty of our nation is underpinned by the free choice of its peoples and not through any attempt at using legal loopholes and shenanigans to come to power through the backdoor. Our parliament should be able to enact electoral laws that that fix the lapses found in the past. This could have been done through the elected representatives without holding the nation to ransom with a legal suit at the highest court. Akufo-Addo and his cabal really represent a real and present danger to the stability of our democracy and they should not trick us into believing that this egomaniacal trip to the highest court was meant to bring about positive changes to our democracy. This fraudulent exercise is yet another page out of the book of entitlement and skullduggery of Nana Akufo-Addo whose legal educational credentials remain a mystery.
