PROF: I put it to you that the only ideological difference between NDC and NPP is that one steals and is not caught, and the other steals and is always caught. These two groups of bandits have the same objective -- to make themselves rich irrespective of the damage it may do to the country. That is why the public do not have a clear choice between these two groups: because the value is the same.

ZoRRo and MINOR CASE, you are both dead right: there's no ideological difference between the two parties, not even the direction in which the economy should be run. Congrats, my 2 like-minded friends.
In any case, permit me to 'sell my medicine' for peace, which the media has rudely forced everybody to believe is under threat now:
I believe that the ordinary supporters of the NDC and NPP are those who should be targeted for the peace education between now and, especially immediately after the announcement of the verdict. This is because I suspect strongly that in the case of the leaders of the two parties, they might have employed psychologists and other experts to psyche them up for whatever judgement is pronounced. But who is doing same for the supporters on the street?
To this end, I suggest that the contents of the educational messages now, should target at enabling the ordinary supporters manage their emotional outbursts of joy (for the winner) and sadness (for the loser), upon the announcement.
For example, winners should not insult the losers, cast unnecessary insinuations at them, should keep at moderate levels sounds from music systems and comport themselves properly when in victory processions.
In the same way, the losers must, first accept, unconditionally, the verdict that is pronounced and aim to carry on with their normal lives. They must accept the fact that it is the winners' right to jubilate, and so should not interfere in their jubilations. Ability to join in such a jubilations would neutralize any tension, and would be a big plus. The losers should, further, avoid starting insults and insinuations, and would do very well if they do not return insults and insinuations if they come from the jubilating winners.
THEY SHOULD REMEMBER THAT NEXT GENERAL ELECTIONS ARE JUST 3 YEARS AWAY AND THEY COULD PREPARE TO HAE A 'TKO' WIN.

Dr. Afari Djan, the self-acclaimed god of elections, currently finds himself between a rock and a hard place.
The noose around his neck is getting tighter and tighter with ever lie that spews out of the mouth of the Tilapia fish-farmer.
The chief returning officer of elections in Ghana is today claiming never to have heard what 'pdf'(portable document format)means.
Lucky for Afari Djan, the NPP will teach him what pdf is all about today for free.
We shall make every NDC foolsoldier see the gargantuan stealing prowess of Afari Djan.

THE UNDERLYING PROBLEM/FACTOR IS THAT OF,WHAT WE CALL:
BRIBERY & CORRUPTION.
If BRIBERY & CORRUPTION is not curbed, what ever system of governance Ghana will initiate, will, and cannot achieve its definite and maximum/utmost aim.
WHY?
Because, the parties involved could agree to disagree to share the cake still, without the knowledge of the citizenry, who would still be suffering.
WHAT DID THE OPPOSITION PARTIES SAY ABOUT THE EX-GRATIA PAYMENT THEY WOULD BE RECEIVING,FOR THEIR FOUR YEARS WORK,DONE FOR THE STATE?
THEY ALL KEPT MUTE.
THAT IS MY PROOF.
THERE HAVE TO BE: INTEGRITY,TRUSTWORTHINESS,TRANSPARENCY,PROBITY & ACCOUNTABILITY,PATRIOTISM ETC.IN EVERYTHING WE DO,LEST,WE WOULD SEEM TO BE WORKING AGAINST FRICTION,AND NO WORK DONE.
Therefore,we have to think carefully in renewing our minds in any decision we make,to fuse it with all the suggestions I have up-listed,if we mean to win in the end.
GOD BLESS GHANA AND AFRICA.

There would be no power sharing. However, if there's a President who believes there's a Ghanaian with the requisite brain power to contribute to the agenda he or she has for the nation, he's at liberty to invite such an individual, to help him/her, achieve his dreams for the country. Ghana's finest ever President in the person of John Agyekum Kufuor during his tenure, realized that, Paa Kwesi Nduom could contribute in his gov't and they say, the rest is history. He again realized that Prof. Hagan could contribute and therefore invited him. He realized Agyeman Badu Akosa had something he could offer the nation and therefore invited him as well. These are but a few examples of what a President entrusted with the mandate of the masses can exercise in fulfilling the dreams and aspirations of the masses, who have given him their mandate. Democracy and elections is a contest of ideas, policies, programs and those who the electorate believe can deliver, in tandem with their own hopes and aspirations. A unity gov't is a bogus proposition and if this is being suggested because of the current election petition, then it is in bad taste and insults the intelligence of the discerning Ghanaian voter, and Ghanaians are demanding RESPECT from our politicians, institutions, various stakeholders and players and that's the only way the country can move forward.

What is power sharing anyway? Why the clamor at this time? Isn't it suicidal for any person to appoint someone he does not share any ideological philosophy with?
The constitution created the problem of winner takes all. The constitution vested so much power in the President and centralized government, and the politicians that have had the opportunity to operate it have fed fat on that concept.
If after twenty years of this distention, we have no viable, effective local government system, then we have a big problem. Civil servants have made sure the decentralization doesn't take root so they can manipulate government and feed fat on the broken system.
For a start, let's all agree that we need all to participate in the governance of the country at all levels. Since it will be difficult to have a party give positions to the opposition, the reasonable way forward is to liberate the crippling effect of the constitution.
Regional Administration, District and Municipal Administrations must be defined by an act of legislation. This must specify the extent of what they can do without need to resort to the central government and central Parliament. This must go with the fair distribution of the national cake to the regions and the Districts and Municipalities.
I propose, complete decentralization of the Ministries of EDUCATION,HEALTH, WORKS AND HOUSING, AGRICULTURE, as well as agencies as, ELECTRICITY, WATER, POLICE SERVICE, TRANSPORT to the regions and DIstricts. Central government must make the overall policy and regions and districts can add to their peculiarity. Police set up that is community based is always more effective, in policing, because they are part of the community and understand the community and knows who are in the community. The wastage in water and electricity supply will be curtailed when Regions and Districts control the distribution.
We can the make Regional Ministerial and District Secretarial Positions an ELECTIVE POSITION? In this way different parties will be represented. This will bring some kind of "competition" for excellence for the greater good of the population. So that if you think where you live is not performing, you have the opportunity to relocate to other region or district.
The President will have no strangle hold on Regional Ministers and District Chief executives, who would only be accountable to the people that elected them. Electing Regional Ministers and DCE/MCEs will further strengthen the politics and the democratic process locally, and bring the best out of people. It will reduce the national acrimony or at least shift it locally. It will also bring more people into the process.
