The fact still remains that Atuguba has not been fair throughout the hearing. He displayed too many shortcomings.
The most prominent of them was his failure to ask the Electoral Commission to deposit a set of the entire 26,002 pink sheets at the court registry even before the EC was asked to file their own defence. The whole case centered on the efficacy of these pink sheets. Without them there was no case. These pink sheets were not the property of the EC; they were the property of the state. The EC would have had no legal right to refuse to deposit copies in the court registry if Atuguba had demanded so. The failure to of Atuguba to do just that was the first sign of weakness of the entire petition hearing. Even now that the case is in its closing stages, this simple omission will cast doubts on the outcome – wherever it goes.
Atuguba’s other prominent weakness was his failure to put Tsatsu in his rightful place. Whenever Tsatsu got up to speak, he appeared to have a chip on his shoulder! He seemed to dictate how the case should be run. A clear case was with his claim of not havin received a full complement of the pink sheets the petitioners filed. Atuguba failed to ask Tsatsu why he failed to complain about the shortage on delivery, which any ordinary sensible person would have done. More importantly, how serious was Tsatsu to have complained that he had been short changed but refused to tell the court, no ordinary court but Atuguba’s supreme court, about how many pink sheets exactly he was talking about? And to add insult to court abuse, Atuguba succumbed to a suggestion to get KPMG in to do an audit! This is sheer timidity of Atuguba’s panel. Even my dead illiterate granddad would not have committed such folly! But not Atuguba, who was on Tsatsu’s long leash. If someone referred to such ungodly behaviour by a supreme court judge as tantamount to the behaviour of voodoo or whatever, that was no cause to charge them of contempt.
Need I go any further? It is Atuguba’s court, he cab do whatever he wants to do. But his days are almost over. 29th of August will be the ‘J’ day!!

Politicians and their thugs do not care a hoot about mother Ghana. We should all agree that it takes both the white and the black keys of the piano to produce melodious tunes. Therefore, all political parties and their members should learn to live with one another. After all , all the political parties say they want to be in government to develop Ghana.
