Insight to the bone, go and learn the history of the Akans, particularly the great Ashanti people and you would find out that the slave trade forced several thousands of people from northern Ghana, Burkina Faso, Niger and Mali to be in the Akanlands otherwise known to the Pepeni people as 'forest'. They slept with Akan women. The product tall, handsome men and women in Akanlands. The last official historian in the Palace in Kumasi had his father from Yendi, he died a few years ago. Check any Ashanti above 5.5ft and you would have pepeni blood. Check Sir John now. Ashantis are from Mali, go to the town of Dzozeit near Timbuktu (on the road to the city of Gao) and you find those left behind the Dagom people, check their culture, their height and compare to Ashantis. Insight, stop this bigot tribalism. We are all one people with a common destiny. The unity of the PPP/ CPP/PNC/NDC plus Uncle Ward Brew's party is in the right direction. Rawlings does not own the NDC, after all it was Nkrumaists such as Dr. Chris Atim, Sgt Akata-pore, Zaya Yeebo, Captain Tsikata, Tsastu, Akoto Ampaw, Kwasi Kamassa, and thousands of ordinarly Ghanains who made Rawlings. Unity in principle is key to the our development.
Check the level of corruption under Kufour as reported in the Auditor General's report and in Kofi Comsoon's Chronicle, tribe had no place, it is greed. Being stupid is a fundamental right. But, fanning tribalism is worse.

The % of people of slave origins among the Asantes is actually estimated at 33%. May be the same for other major Akan groups too, especially the Fantes who have even two clans comprising people of slave origins, and probably making people of such origins higher among the Fantes considering the fact of the tens of 1000s of escaped slaves the coastal areas absorbed. Might be slightly lower for some minor ones though.
Ghanaians, esp. the group called Akans, need to be told some plain historical truths about our past, as I believe this will go a long way to curb this tribal nonsense. I might do that one of these days.

It is a pity those in the CPP are so confused that they couldn't see beyond their blurred visions. So blinkard are they!
They have opposed and put all kinds of obstacles in the way of forging a merger between the parties that clearly identify themselves as Nkrumaists. The NDC is NOT one of them but they are always eager to co-operate or suggest merging with it. Why not try merging with the PNC and GCPP first and see what the reaction from the public and voters will be like? So will you guys be asking that the NDC change its name to CPP and take your slogans too, without making any concessions on name and slogans, as some adamantly did in the negotiations with the PNC, for instance?
The NDC IS NOT Nkrumaist in any way except its rhetorics! The NDC, and the PNDC before it, was more right-wing in its socio-economic policies that even the NPP in power! It was all privatisation, privatisation under the misguided and false slogan of the "private sector is the engine of growth". Even the public transport system in the cities were run down and shut down. Thanks to the NPP, these were revived, even if it meant at first bringing in used and old right-hand double-decker buses from London, to the chagrin of Prof. George Ayittey!:-) The NDC had PAMSCAD but could never have dreamt of the school feeding programme!
A true Nkrumaist agenda, to begin with, MUST BEGIN NOW with the merger of ALL the Nkrumaist parties, and that does not include the NDC by any yardstick. That many people who claim to be pro-Nkrumaist now support and vote for the NDC doesn't make the NDC Nkrumaist. Most who voted for the CPP in the 1950s and '60s are now dead! Some of their children are even hobnobbing with the NPP!
That the CPP Presidential candidate failed to impress upon the voters how different the CPP is from the NDC and NPP, also mouthing the ideologically inane right-wing slogan
of the private sector being the engine growth, does not make the CPP and NDC Nkrumaist. Neither is the NPP! And that we are in a ideology-less capitalism era and for the future Fukuyama style! It simply shows that the CPP leaders are currently ideological bankrupt and confused petite bourgeois elite claiming to be socialists, which Nkrumahism is! The State has never been so dominant in creating, securing jobs and businesses in even the private sector than any time in modern history!
Those who want to join or vote for the NDC are already doing so. The NDC did not need the CPP or so-called Nkrumaist splinter groups to win the last elections? Did it?

The very thought or suggestion of any alliance between the CPP and the NDC is so revolting that it begs for description. Those mercenaries, like the writer of this article who have been paid to do this hatchet job, are nothing but the minions of the grand imperialist plans for the continued domination of Ghana and Africa.
The very fact that the NDC is full of the out-dated stock of pseudo-Nkrumaists - the same kind who would have undermined Kwame Nkrumah like some of his associates did whilst he was still alive and President of the first Republic, does not culminate into the NDC all of a sudden qualifying to becoming an Nkrumaist Party. What an insult to the memory of the great Osagyefo! Any objective analyst would agree that even the NPP under Kufuor was more Nkrumaist than these brigands and bootleggers who have constituted themselves into a political Party called the NDC.
To ask any of those shameful and reprehensible political prostitutes, renegades, recidivists and opportunists in the NDC, who pose as Nkrumaists, only for the cause of a fatter stomach, bigger mansions and fancy cars to merge with the CPP is a sick joke - to say the least.
In my opinion, I think that the CPP was lucky to have rid itself from that crowd of unprincipled scumbags who like to refer to themselves as being CPP but ensconced in another Party with a different name.
However having got rid of them, other third rate opportunists of no mean substance also proceeded to take over the highly prized Party by propping up Nkrumahs daughter as a mascot with the immature intent of wooing voters.
This ploy was and still is, probably the most devastating development to have collectively afflicted the girl, the CPP and the treasured memory of Dr Kwame Nkrumah. There are many who even believe that this was a discreetly manipulated Foreign intelligence strategy to muddy the waters for the CPP and to thereby further destroy its substance and spoil its chances of ever attaining political power. If that is true, then it surely worked for global imperialism whose greatest fear, is for their 'chopping' grounds to revert to the fearless and uncompromising nationalist or socialist politics of development. This would of course mean that global imperialism would suffer disastrously from a continued curtailment of cheap or even the virtually free exploitation of much-needed mineral resources from Ghana - with possible repercussions right across Africa. For sure they will not sit down and let this happen without a fight. What is going on in Egypt today is a reminder of how desperately violent imperialism can get when faced with the possible loss of cheap mineral resources.
The CPP must first of all rally and create a vangaurd of indomitable Nkrumaists. It is only from such a core of committed and genuine functionaries that the CPP can ever have a chance of growing, gaining grounds and preparing for the day that it can conveniently take over power. Anything less than this is a joke.
For the CPP to make the puerile and futile attempt by its current decadent leadership to win power when they very well know that they dont have the necessary structures on the ground, nor the pedigree or refined caliber of political leadership personnel to execute the next stage of the dynamic liberation struggle, only amounted to asking for the next demolition phase of the dwindling fortunes of the Party.

Who is behind this shameless operative? When it comes to CPP nad PNC I know they are both NKRUMAHISTS TRUE AND TRUE.........
But with the NDC? Hmmm...they are real 'wolves in sheep clothing'. They think by preaching about being Nkrumahists and all sorts makes them as such?
For a start, CPP and PNC does noes NOT and will NOT advocate the sale of our rich natural resources on the cheap to their 'slave masters' and sell our national heritage like for instance, Ashanti Goldfields to Anglo Ashanti Gold with the help of Sam Jonah/their cronies and just get than less 3% after export for Ghana? And many more others I will address another day.
CPP and PNC will not dance to the tunes of the IMF/World Bank with all the SAP and HIPC programmes just to keep us down and poor? Whilst we are sitting on riches?.................
I'm afraid to say that, the only merger I can see happen is an NDC and NPP merger - since they arev two sides of the same useless 'coin'.

The damage has, irretrievably, been done. Perhaps, the best way to resurrect Nkrumah's ideals and ideas is for the true Nkrumaists to resign from their respective Parties - however difficult that may be - to join Nkrumah's old Party, the CPP, with few heads rolling off the present CPP, if need be.
The founder of the NDC, Jerry Rawlings and few others can be a stumbling block for total unification of an Nkrumaist Party. Exactly, why Jerry Rawlings had not liked late Prof Atta Mills was because of the latter leaning towards Nkrumah's fold as described in the article.

That soldier Afrifah proscribed CPP as advised by his then colonial masters -CIA & MI5. When Kwajo Tsikata, Rawlings and the beneficiaries of CPP social and economic policy came to power, they could have resurrected the CPP and reintroduced it to the politics of the day, but owing to their selfishness and empty lipservice to the achievements of NKRUMAH they overlooked that prospect and created their own rootless political philosophy.
Surely if sanity has come into people like Kojo Tsikata, Boakye Gyan, Rawlings and other sycophants, let them be serious and do the right thing to win the hearts and soul of the ardent CPP products.

Ask yourself & tell us all what has Ghana's politics benefited from this so-called 'democratic multi-party politics' since ever it was introduced to us by our colonial masters?
I wouldn't wonder that the entire Ghanaian populace would agree with me that we've been only experiencing only NONSENSE & BULLSHIT democratic political practices as its been going on since.
Preferably for Ghana is rather only a suitable solid two-party state for us to move forward in the development of our dear nation instead of ONE PARTY STATE.
Thus merging is the one & the only solution to the scheme of the political situation that we're now facing; else we would be on an utopish road to nowhere if we really want to have a healthy democratic political competition.
Take it from me.

Mr Boakye-Djan, lets be clear on this: its Kwame Nkrumah's ideas and ideals that make up his ideology. When the ideology goes so do those ideas and ideals. Without that ideology as the framework/ superstructure, such a unity would be meaningless because its the ideology that binds them cohesively together and gives them a true identity and purpose. Perhaps you have misunderstood the true meaning of what is meant by the word 'ideology' which simply implies the science of ideas. In any case, much as we all want the true revival and re-ascendency of CPP, lets not get desperate to the point of inviting and welcoming some of the very people responsible for our demise in the first place. I know you know the people I'm talking about.
