YOU CANNOT SCANDALISE THE SUPREME COURT and INSULT a Supreme Court Judge in this manner and go scot free.People of Sir John's age were not brought up this way, and indeed I may be of his age.We were brought up to be polite, respect elderly people and not to insult in the public.In fact,at that time, about 98% of Ghanaians had no TV sets (and were black & white in colour) and no Mobile phones were in existence.Therefore why Sir John should act in such an uncouth behaviour is ridiculous.This is not the first time:He insulted late Prof. Mills without provocation until the learned professor died.He did not stop there, but continued his insulting free by turning it on President Mahama also without provocation.He called President Mahama a 'Thief'! SC never warned people not to talk about proceedings in the court. The SC is not a dumb institution to make such an unachievable Statement or request. THE SC CLEARLY STATED THAT NO ONE SHOULD MISTEPRESENT WHAT HAPPENS IN THE COURT. NO ONE SHOULD UNDERMINE THE INTEGRITY OF THE COURT. THAT THEY WILL PROTECT CITIZENS FROM ANY MIND OF ACTIONS THAT WILL DISTURB THE PEACE. Is this difficult to understand?

Did Mahama do any of these things? Haven't many NPP member made comments about the SC hearings and are free to go because they didn't do the things SC asked them not to do? Haven't NPP members stated many times their case will be withheld by the court? There's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Check those who were jailed and use your head to recount the things they did. The SC has been very consistent and has shown a lot of fairness and wisdom in their actions. The only people who'll not see it are those who even failed to see that the 2012 elections was perhaps the only election in Africa where elections went through successful for 2 days with no protests and intimidations, this the best so far.

When rumours of citing contempt against Mr Afriyie by the SC begun, I said in this very forum that he will not witness the final verdict of the petition hearing. I was precise in stating that he would eventually be hauled and jailed for not less than two weeks. The SC is the highest court of the land. But it appears a certain cross-section of we Ghanaians are deliberately putting the SC to test. Slates have been wiped clean several times by the president of the SC 9-member panel. Just how many more warnings should the SC give before acting. We should be careful how we tread as there is no clear definition for contempt. A word to the wise ......
