We all know that the ultimate reason for going to the SC is for peace, but the peace must be won through justice if you need further explanations for his comments.
No one would want to arguably tarnish the SC reputation (if it has any from history), but Mr Karbo is implied to mean that the positions of the judges in the verdict must not be unreasonably contestable and unconstitutional.

You want change, then do it at the next election! You want election laws and systems to change, petition your MP's. You want people to become aware of wrongs, then demonstrate peacefully. Nelson Mandela spent many years in prison, did everything peacefully, against wrongs the government committed. He became president, made changes, gave control of his country back to the masses and is honored around the world for his works. All done in peace. Sure there was some violence, but not by his direction but by zealots who have no abilities to think on their own and reason. Think about it, all of you Ghanaians, Ghana is a great country, preserve it.

Thank you Tony for your statement. This is very interesting but my personal advice to you is to review it or withdraw it. I say this because your statement gives the conclusion that you have determined what you classify as peace - and that is when the verdict goes in your favour. This is not the right approach to adopt if indeed you are seeking justice and you trust the state organ responsible to dispense justice to do that. Once you have that confidence in that organ, and this is why in the first place you took your case to them, it follows that you leave entirely what you consider as justice to them - and once they decide,be it.

Please I just want to advise you to consider your statement and review that or better still withdraw it.

Long live Ghana, and may God continue to bless our homeland - which blessings include first and foremost PEACE!

We cannot agree further. It is the paranoid thought of seeking peace at the expense of justice, over the years, that has sunk Ghana and, indeed, almost the whole continent. WHERE THERE IS NO JUSTICE, THERE CAN NEVER BE PEACE! We thus, expect the SC to judge conscientiously, objectively and wisely. We expect them to decide without partisanship to any party. It does not matter Mahama or Akufo-Addo; what matters is the truth - the true choice of the majority of Ghanaians. If they allow the truth to prevail, it surely will withstand the test of time.
In fact, most of the calamities that have befallen Ghana and other Africans were/are the result of our quest for peace at the expense of justice - enslavement, colonisation, neocolonialism, economic embargo, pillaging, forced ownership of Africans resources, lands, etc. The same weakness runs through the veins and creates the mentalities of our siblings across the continents, a major cause of humiliation and subsequent discrimination against them where they live.
Jesus' mission, in large part, was to administer justice - atonement is a form of justifying - that is why he was the Prince of Peace. God believes in order. It is justice. The universe is sustained by orderliness - it is justice. Religious leaders who preach justice at the expense of peace are shallow-minded.

The emphasis on Justice as the main reason why the case went to Court is rendered redundant by Karbo. All sane and discerning folks know that Justice is by default the reason why the case went to Court. If those did not trust the SC to mete out Justice, they should have at the very beginning pointed that out and requested for their 'better way' to resolve the impasse. Given the behavior of many thuggish elements on both sides, we should be more concerned about the state of our security after the verdict is given. Some folks do not care whether or not real Justice would be given. What they care about is whether their side wins the case or not. That is the significant factor in demanding for Peace.

So, to complain that calling for Peace is out of place and presupposes Justice is relegated down the priority list is ridiculous.

Karbo and others who are vociferous in trying to let us believe that those seeking Peace do not value Justice as much seem to be laying down a foundation for rejecting the SC verdict, if goes against them, and indirectly claiming to reserve the right to violence or chaos should their side lose the case.

The call for Peace is appropriate if we would all be honest to admit that there are some of us, most likely including the Karbos, who have already made up their mind to resort to disturbance if the verdict goes against their side. There could be Justice fully and godly done, and yet those who would not like to accept it. It is to those elements that the call for Peace most appropriately and directly addresses.

There has been a flood of similar complaints against calls for Peace on the internet Radios, Ghana Waves and others, in the last week. In a summary, those folks seem to be implying that if the case does not go in their favor, then no Justice will have been rendered.

These folks seem to be telling us that it is only when their side wins the SC case that Justice will have been done. I cannot believe the basis for their whining, while the case is still under deliberations. The denigration of some members of the SC by certain individuals, like Sir John, ahead of the verdict, is to undermine the Judges' integrity and pre-set their perceived culpability for any unfavorable verdict to the side of those engaged in that denigration. It is a pre-emptive claim to unfairness dealt to the complaining side by the targeted Justices.

Their attitude denotes a certain impatience to react violently to an unfavorable outcome. This makes me wonder how refined their thought-processes work.

THEY COULD NOT PROVE ANY OF THOSE NUMEROUS ALLEGATIONS. THEIR POLLING AGENTS SIGNED ALL THE NECESSARY ELECTORAL DOCUMENTS AT THE POLLING STATIONS WITHOUT A SINGLE COMPLAINT. THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE THAT A VOTER VOTED TWICE,.THERE WAS NO SNATCHING OF BALLOT BOXES AS IT USED TO HAPPEN IN THE PAST. THERE WAS NO OVER VOTING LIKE IT USED TO HAPPEN IN THE ASHANTI REGION IN THE PAST. IF SOME ELECTORAL OFFICERS BELIEVED TO HAVE BEEN BRIBED BY THE NPP TO DELIBERATELY REFUSED TO SIGN ELECTORAL DOCUMENTS, DO THE GENUINE AND LEGITIMATE GHANAIAN VOTERS WHO STOOD IN QUEUES FOR SEVERAL HOURS TO CAST THEIR LEGITIMATE VOTES AS DEMANDED BY THE CONSTITUTION BE MADE TO SUFFER SO THAT ONE EVIL AND DEMONIC SHORT AND UGLY MAN BECOME A PRESIDENT? NO THIS CANNOT BE ALLOWED EVEN BY THE ALMIGHTY GOD. THIS ACT IS A TREASONABLE AGAINST OUR CONSTITUTION. THOSE INVOLVED IN THIS ATTEMPT NEED TO BE LINED UP AND SHOT AT THE TESHIE MILITARY RANGE.
