Knowledgeable Ghanaians will read my comments on what is going on in charismatic churches in Ghana to become knowledgeable. But ignorant people will read it and become more ignorant. If you are a true believer of Gospel of Jesus and the Bible after you read this you will think twice before following the charlatans, who call themselves bishops, pastors and men of God in Ghana .
Many pastors and so called men of God in Ghana can be described as oppressors: oppression means the exercise of tyranny by a ruling group. In Ghana many pastors paraded themselves as ruling class and engage in all forms of oppression creating injustice against their followers. They started their churches with good intentions on the surface but with inherent cruel intentions in milking their followers. They place constraints on their followers that limit their social and financial freedom.
These paraded apostles and bishops as they call themselves are faceless men who have five faces:
The first face is Exploitation: that is they engage in acts of using people’s labours to produce profit while not compensating them fairly. How many times have you seen the so called bishops visiting the poor? What is their real contribution to society apart boasting of their own wealth and predicting football match outcomes and political wins? This is a disgrace to Ghana’s society.
Their second face is marginalisation: Marginalization is the act of relegating or confining a group of people to a lower social standing or outer limit or edge of society. Overall, it is a process of exclusion. They marginalise their followers, for example, they give respect to those who give big donations in their churches and the poor has no place. The poor is the servant, the cleaner and remains the ones who always beg the pastor to pray for him/her for a fee. It is the same poor persons whose daughters are often defiled by these so called bishops.
Their third face is they make their followers economically, conceptually and socially powerless by using the Bible to indoctrinate them. They are like the ruling class who dominate other and give orders for others to give while they do not give. Some of the fundamental injustices associated with this kind of powerlessness are inhibition to church members to develop their capacities, lack of decision making power, and exposure to vulnerability because of the fear of the pastor. No wonder many Ghanaians cannot think critically and remain in poverty waiting for manner from heaven.
Their fourth face is they create the culture of silence among their congregations by using fear that if you speak out you are speaking about God and that you will be cursed. According to Freire, oppressed people become so powerless that they do not even talk about their oppression. If they reach this stage of oppression, it creates a culture wherein it is forbidden to even mention the injustices that are being committed. The oppressed are silenced. They have no voice and no will.
Their fifth face is the creation of imperialist culture with the churches. Cultural Imperialism involves taking the culture of the ruling church and establishing it as the norm. The church that has power in society control how the people in that society interpret themselves and communicate.
Truly, these are faces of the devil. Ghanaians need to rise up against injustice in churches to restore hope to the poor. As a Christian myself, it only came to light when I begin to read the Bible myself and ask God for His Divine interpretation. The way to do it is to ask the pastor to pay tax like all other Ghanaians, they should stop predicting presidential polls and football matches with their false tricks. The work of the pastor is to nurse the broken hearted and to support the weak. They are to preach the word of God’s kingdom. Our disgrace had gone too far but I blame it on Ghanaians who follow them with their simplistic minds. The critical thinker will not avail themselves to these braggarts who call themselves bishops. It is better to use your money to look after your child to go to school than to give it to those liars. God will love and bless you. Knowledge is calling; those who have ear let them listen.

CHURCH PEOPLE BEATING JOURNALISTS? I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS NONSENSE. NOW OUR PLACE OF WOSHIP TOO HAS TURN INTO BOXING ARENA. IF THIS STORY IS PROVEN I THINK THE CHURCH SHOULD BE CLOSED DOWN. ARE OUR CHURCHES REALLY FOLLOWING THE FOOT STEPS OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST? THESE DAYS THE CHURCH HAS BECOME A PLACE OF ALL SOCIAL VICES WITH IMPUNITY. PASTORS SLEEPING WITH MARRIED WOMEN AND YOUNG GIRLS AND SOME EVEN SLEEPING WITH OTHER MEN AS IT WAS REPORTED TODAY. THE CHURCH HAS ALSO BECOME MONEY MAKING JOINT. I AM VERY DISSAPPOINTED IN SOME OF OUR PASTORS AND THEIR CHURCH MEMBERS. THIS NONSENSE NEED TO STOP NOW. MY SYMPATHY TO THE JOURNALISTS. GOD HELP US.

Our church leaders must exercise control over their church members. This silly thing once happened in Kumasi and the result was bad. Our press men should also be wise about how they go about thier work.

Why did a whole news team have to 'invade' the privacy of this church? And who gave AdomFM the idea it can ursurp the investigative powers of the Ghana Police Service by assuming a lead role in this matter? Has anybody visited their premises to find out what has given rise to the personnel changes that have gone on recently? It should put its house in order before turning its attention elsewhere!
