Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo

He graduated from the University of Ghana in 1967 with a B.Sc in Economics. Nana trained as a lawyer in England and was called to the English Bar (Middle Temple) in 1971 and the Ghanaian Bar in 1975.

Under President Kufuor, Nana served as the Attorney-General and Minister for Foreign Affairs. He was the flagbearer of the party in the 2008 elections and was again elected in 2010 to be the flagbearer of the party in the upcoming 2012 elections.

The hypocrisy of Fiifi Kwetey really annoys me. He might not have used violent means but verbally he is of the same cut as the people he is criticizing today to get to where he is today. Vile propaganda, lies, stirring up disobedience and disrespect for authority has been his stock in trade.

Those NDC thugs burning government cars did not wake up just one day and started burning cars, they have been groomed and inculcated with violent tendencies from the days of PNDC to date. They have been inspired, groomed, and emboldened by people like Fiifi Kwetey, Ablakwa, Koku Anyidoho, Koby Acheampong, Nii Lantey Vanderpuiye, Rawlings, Kwabena Adjei, Asiedu Nketia, and Gyan Boateng. The attitude of people such as Ade Coker in this whole affair is typical of people not being able to differentiate between party functions and government for ALL the people. Clearly if these MMDCE were performing their functions properly and were truly accountable of their stewardship, I doubt that the president would have found the need to replace them.

We need tough, firm, resolute leadership and government which seeks and demands accountability at all times from its representatives at all levels including the districts and metropolitan assemblies.

Anything short of that must be dealt with and I for one support the government's stance in removing non-performing DCE's.

Why is the ruling party too violent? The spate of unruliness going on in the country is very appalling and it all centers on the premises of NDC. Their followers have no respect for the law and are quickly to ran amok if something did not come their way.

If the people are not happy with those chosen by the president to be MMDCEs, why can't the constitution be amended and allow the people to choose those they think can do the job for them?

Another funny scenario is, even if the MMDCEs are chosen, the District Assemblies have the power to vote to confirm the MMDCEs appointment so, then, the question is, why shouldn't the people in the constituencies be allowed to vote and choose those they deemed fit?

At times, the president is pushing the people around which makes no sense with his choice of reckless appointment of MMDCEs.
