Is it not bizarre to have a Dep. Minister of information, announcing to the whole world such a broad policy directive,which in my view should have full cabinet support and backed by the provision of adequate financial resources? In a Q & A session with Senior citizens at a Republic Day fete hosted by the President himself, he(Pres Mahama) is reported to have told a petitioner that he was going to direct the AG to take certain steps. So the unfortunate impression is created that this AG only acts when directed to do so.
look,if the President is not happy with this woman`s performance,he can by all means remove her, and fill the AG portfolio with another person.
In my view, it is this constant publicity about what it is that the Prersident wants the AG to do that has provided the opening for all these unwarranted parisan attacks! And I am not sure President Mahama is oblivious about the kind of 'institutional inertia' that was put in place by his political opponents.
Just yesterday,a draft of a ministerial report presented to his own outfit was published in the press,even though the presidency is yet to make this Gyeeda report public. Should the President and his advisers not be worried about such a premature discosure of the contents of a report that could adversely affect the prosecution of 'wrong-doers'later on?

The fact that the President has asked her to undertake reforms in her department does not mean that Mrs Appiah-Oppong has not initiated anything in the department.You are a senior lawyer and therefore must be decorous in your statement and do not provide avenue for people to lambast you.Do you know the reply that Mrs. Appiah-Oppong has given to the President on receiving the directive? It is good to know the depth of absurdity of those who make it impossible for any kind of progress to be attained. Otherwise how can you overcome them and all their problems?

All said and done, even the quality of their insults are so childish and so petty that it only evokes laughter and at worse, disregard and not anger. That alone tells you that the authors of these cheap insults are people who are themselves either immature - overgrown children, or mentally retarded - morons. They need help and it is a good thing that this platform is giving them a good opportunity to come out from the cupboard into public light to express their sub-human frustrations.

Ohenenana, at the very worse, you can behave like me and opt not to read some of these vulgar and abusive comments, so why worry?

Lastly, at the very very worse, I expect that as an obviously more enlightened man, you should be very capable of descending into the gutters on occasion and flinging more effective and destructive insults back at them. It will be like using a bazooka against someone who is wielding a water pistol. This is because some of these people who tend to come from mainly a particular party in Ghana think that to be well-educated and behaved is a disability which they can prey on to brow-beat us the more enlightened members of society into submission.

We must show them that it is only because we know that where they are coming from smells and that is why we don't usually want to go there. But when push comes to shove and the pooh-pooh hits the fan, boy oh boy, you must let it roll.

The issue is nobody forced John Mahama to make those appointments. All the ministers he has appointed was done on his own volition in consultation with his team and the various blocs within their party setup, so it is not a case of John Mahama not knowing who he was appointing and swearing the oath of office.
Besides, the issue of reforming the Justice dept towards serving the interest of the country to forestall the payment of judgment debts is neither here nor there. The judgment debts so far paid were dubious, corrupt and fraudulently acquired with it's origins from the Presidency eg, woyome, isofoton, so how can an originator of the very fraud ask the AG dept to reform the system to prevent it? Again, the AG who has been tasked to reform department at one point in her career was actually a defense counsel for the payment of a dubious judgment debt to one of the companies, used as a front to swindle the state of funds under dubious means, so what is there to reform? The one asking for the reforms and the one who is being asked to do the reformation are all neck deep in the fraudulent and dubious acquisition of state funds, so what are they going on about? They should give us a break.

As for me, I think that at the instance of the West (Europe and America), moral values and ethical values have collapsed to the point of no return so why should we be worried about straightening ourselves up at the lower end? It would be futile to say the least.

What NPP's Sam Okudjeto is saying is like blaming a player as incompetent because his coach has given him an instruction.
I believe Sam Okudjeto is aware that it was the President (the coach) who appointed his ministers (the players) and it is the President's agenda (game plan) they must pursue not their own agenda. It is interesting that, this is what Mr Sam Okudjeto - someone supposed to be a brilliant and an experienced lawyer - claims worries him about governance in Ghana. I put it to him that what is actually worrying him and making him feel uncomfortable is the fact that his party, NPP, is out of government. I urge him to come down to earth and rather contribute towards his party's strategy for 2016 election.

Lawyers who have been found giulty of criminal offenses or who are unable to account for monies and properties entrusted to them by clients or parties to litigation are not fit and proper persons to practice law and in any right thinking society they would be struck off the register of qualified lawyers and dis barred from practicing law in the future.
The GBA can begin the thorough reform of the nation's legal system by first putting it's own house in order and insisting on the highest of professional standards amongst it members.
Unfortunately this is not the case at the moment.

Is Sam Okudzeto in a new world? Very few Ministers in Cabinets over the years fully grasps what are their roles in government. They do not know that they have to think about the issues , challenges etc. of the Ministry of which they are the political heads and are expected to conceive of and design policies for it. If this AG cannot do so, part of the fault must lie with the President for posting her to a position for which she is not suitable.

apart from the two methods stated above, a voter is verified by the e.c officials at the polling station and party representatives. i therefore find it extremely difficult to understand why my vote should be annulled because the verification machine could not verify/identify only my thickened finger print.

I know for a fact that, the AG presented her strategic plan to overhaul her ministry to The President two weeks ago and a week later to cabinet before this announcement from the minister of Information with the word DIRECTIVE from the President, making it look like it was the president who conceived this idea and not the AG. It is a fact that it was the AG's plan for her ministry and credit should be given to Caesar. I know the Ministry of Information wanted to make the president look good in the eyes of Ghanaians but it has created a different impression about the competence and proactiveness of our principled, honest, highly accomplished, streetwise and no nonsense AG. She has designed the programme of implementation and assigned her staff to them already before even briefing cabinet about her intended plan of action. These are the facts and not what the Ministry of Information wanted you to believe by playing to the public gallery and tarnishing the AG's professional competence and know how. Was it a mischieve or lack of indepth political analysis
