Very scanty presentation; shows lack of professionalism and business acumen. How can the PURC use the document to justify over 100% increment in tariff? Explain your cost.

1. erratic gas supply cannot be attributed to inadequate funds. if suppliers of a commodity are not consistent with their supply, why call on final consumers to pay more. the solution is to re-look at the terms of contract with your suppliers.
2. over stretching of hydro plants is neither here nor there. from your own scanty presentation, you projected 95% availability all year round for both akosombo and akuse. that blanket projection alone smack of ineffective planning. that not withstanding, akosombo prevailed way beyond the projected availability time with akuse falling marginally. how can this lead to over stretching and your inability to carry out planned maintenance. are you telling us the projection did not factor in routine planned maintenance?
3. talking about demand outstripping supply, how does this qualify for tariff adjustment. are the excess demand given out for free. if yes why should the one already paying be asked to pay more. why not charge those you are supplying to. this is ridiculous.
the whole presentation and demand for increment smacks of lousy approach to management. in fact my only appreciation is that vra is telling us to pre-finance their operations. the question is why should we. the commodity they are selling i believe has an inelastic demand. i don't want to call it an essential commodity but to a large extent it is. they should look for their own money for their operations. we the consumers are willing to buy when the product if and when it is available. and a quick reminder, they should desist from this silly mentality that we are not paying realistic prices.
