Yes some DCEs or persons in their ilks will have been rejected but what is so nationwide about this. Is it a case that these pressmen do not understand the word nationwide? Nationwide is where something is so predominant in almost all parts of the country. So if there are over one fifty assemblies in Ghana and about even twenty who have been rejected, what is it that can be described as being nationwide about it? Please let us be careful we do not fan this reckless alarmist postures. In any case, the President as part of his mandate is expected to appoint and for the said appointments to be confirmed or rejected and so what is the big deal if the appointments are rejected. I just do not get it. As for the Central Regional Minister, if what he is alleged to have said is true, he better think again. These syncophantic stances will help no one. Ghanaians are not zombies and for them to be expected to behave in a particular way. One very cold aspect of politics is that, those at the top are not given the true state of affairs. They better come down and double check information that they are given and with that they will always get it right

I remeber some time when a contingent from the local Government toured some countries in Europe to study their decentralisation systems and policies! What did they learn from that? The Europeans do not politicise on this!!!

The reality of the unprecedented rejection vote of Mahama's MMDCE appointees is that it was a vote of no confidence in the leadership of the President .This does not bode well for the future of his presidency but what else could the embattled president have done? His short tenure has been fraught with controversies, improprieties, perversions,and a general feeling of despair among the citizenry so the latest development fits perfectly into the sequence of events. The fate of his presidency was signed and sealed the day of the rejection vote. Matter of fact the defiant assembly men's untoward behavior is the harbinger of worse things to come.

The President is being fed with wrong information from his inner circle and lobbyist. Of course the president picks these names suggested to him by the Members of Parliament of the Districts in consultation with the regional executives. However, most of the names that these MP's suggest to the President are often discarded, and he makes appointments based on who lobby's him the most. So right there lies the conflict of interest between the MP's and the substantive nominees. If an MP feels that a DCE was not suggested to the president and the appointed one will likely contest his seat in the future, they will work behind the scenes to overthrow the nominees. The president has to rely on the MP's and grass root not the Lobbyist. How do you solve this, the Municipal and District Chief Executives should be elected by we the people.
