Wwe dont believe because of the inconsistencies alone, but some of these officers from both the AG's and the Police Departments, it is suspected some of our officials from both the AG and the Police Departments also conived with those companies and individuals to collect these supposed heavy judgement debts. Ghana has become a rotten state for even Government officials to live on the tax payers' money. It is really a pity and one can only share tears when revealations of this nature are coming to the public domain. May this country be saved by the Almighty God.

Who do you think is the cause of this predicament that has bedeviled Ghana? Rawlings after shedding innocent Ghanaian blood, killed three high court justices and a retired army officer. Ceased entrepreneurs properties out of jealousy by accusing them of tax evasion. Imprisoned people without trial, killed or chased out those who courageously fought to bring him to power. Collected people's monies nationwide without issuing them with proper documentations. Sold three good hundred state assets including the BLACK STAR LINE mostly to his cronies of which his wife is a beneficiary - Nsawam Cannery. As if that was not enough, he imposed on us the most incompetent President the nation has ever suffered from, ATTA MILLS. Before these were people like Tony Aidoo brought to bear on the good people of Ghana. Then the palm wine tapper Asiedu Nketia and Afari Gyan. It was Rawlings who solidified tribalism in Ghana through his open hatred for a particular group of tribes. Auctioning a whole car for GHc20? How much would have scrap dealers paid for it. Hey, at least the owner went to court and got justice. It sure wouldn't have happened under Rawlings because the owner would have been LOST.

Ghana is so corrupt. Where on earth can a taxi involved in an accident be auctioned for GH 20? Only in Ghana. Similarly, Tony Aidoo bought an auctioned BMW for about GH 500.00. This shows how corrupt officials are.

Kevin, corruption still went on under Rawlings' PNDC. That was when his people started putting up mansions and acquiring all sorts of wealth. Do you know how scholarship to Europe and Soviet Union were disbursed? Was it not largely MEMBERS ONLY? What about scholarship for students to study medicine in Cuba? That was also strictly members only. Rawlings' time also had its form of corruption.

You are very right! I once sat on a scholarship award panel at the then Scholarship Secretariat. Between our committee's recommendations and the communication to the recepients, the names changed dramatially.

You are very right! I once sat on a scholarship award panel at the then Scholarship Secretariat. Between our committee's recommendations and the communication to the recepients, the names changed dramatially.

Fortunately or unfortunately, one of the true recipients and I worked for the same outfit, so about two weeks after the interviews, I congratulated him for his showing and success. That was when he opened his mouth for several minutes and told me that he was NOT successful.

I had all my notes and marks, so I took him to the Scholarship Secretariat and raised hell. Eventually through my persistence, he was given the scholarship to go and study in Algeria! From that experience, I know that all kinds of things happen in the award of scholarships in Ghana.

Due diligence on the companies and individuals claiming the debt would with rigorous defence stop more than three quarters of these cases even having a chance to succeed. But lack of capacity to even investigate these companies, low morale and indifference, poor pay for the type of work they do and inability for them to recruit high calibre lawyers all contribute to them not caring if the state wins or not. Tackle the cause of the wound before treating it.

People are paid to do certain things and look at what happens. I say it is time these people are not let off the hook but severely punished. It is time the civil service is purged of these incompetent, corrupt individuals.

Compare the developed world - Germany, UK, USA just to mention a few, these countries are built around control and accountability systems and they are functioning like well-oiled machines.
What do we have in Ghana chaos and lack of control systems. Who is accountable to whom in Ghana? The president can order your arrest without following any procedure and you will be arrested. The president can authorise the release of a corrupt public official an he/she will be released without any procedure. The minister, MP or IGP so-called "big" can do whatever they want and no system checks on the nefarious activities. This flows down the chain to the man on the street who feels giving bribes or taking bribes is normal; simply because those at the top are doing it. The FISH ROTS FROM THE HEAD.

This sole commissioner of nothing for nothing should refrain from making statements that can come back and bite him in the ass. The hero of latter day Ghana, Martin Amidu won his case at the Supreme Court of Ghana on one and only one issue; what constitutes a legal contract between the government and private contractors or vendors. What all the judges, not worth their paychecks, in Ghana's courts should have done prior to sitting in judgment of any of the judgment debt cases was to have reviewed laws and statutes prior to them rendering the judgment against the government.
Judges in Ghana's courts do have clerks and the failure of the government’s A-G office not to fight claims is not reason for judges not to do due diligence to know facts of the cases they sit to hear from their ass. In the end it was the a document of laws and statutes written by parliament for judges to read, understand , interpret and uphold that saved the day. Are judges at the lower, appellate and the supreme court of Ghana not Ghanaian citizens? Would any of you wig-wearing so-called judges have ever known there were no valid contracts at play? The courts cannot absolve their own ignorance of the laws of the nation governing contracts while they blame agencies of state for not fight like hell to save Ghana.

These conspiracies within government institutions are not open secret and has been going on for many decades. These public employees work as a criminal syndicate and no amount of change in leadership could possibly shake them from their perch. The only way to put an end to their criminal ways is to fire them en masse including their cats and dogs. Hire civil servants from other departments with proven integrity and rotate every positions on a limited period only.
