The only trouble with Ghanaian Journalists is they use certain words in the wrong place which gives a nehgative connotaion and as a result lack of clarity to the usage of certain words.

The only trouble with Ghanaian Journalists and some of our miseducated politicians are they use certain words in the wrong place which gives a nehgative connotation and as a result lack of clarity to the usage of certain words.

Perfunctionary or perfunctory simply means does not go deep enough i.e. superficiel or cursory. e.g. a perfunctory smile when it is not with you.

Where in the above-told story was there an indication as to whether Nana Akomea was at the meeting or not?

Perhaps you know more about the issue; and it was incumbent on you to have used your posting to educate ME and other readers on what actaully transpired. That would have been real mark of a booksense person, committed to helping the non-booksense people. After all one needs both booksense and homesense to make a positive mark on society.

The only difference is one steals but delivers so at least they put some measures in place to alliviate the suffering of the masses. The other steals but is also incompetent and cannot deliver. NDC for 5 years has not provided any tangible initiatives or projects to help Ghanaians, every one they have attempted has either failed or was a fraud, from STX to Akonfem and tree planting exercise to school under trees, it's either propaganda or plain incompetence. The Presidents office alone spends $300m dollars in the last 3 months to elections way above it's budget allocation and we have nothing to show for it, they turn round to screw you with more taxes to fund their lavish lifestyle and yet some of you come here to point fingers and call the opposition names. Are you that stupid?? Why do we allow politics to cause so much hatred for one of our own but in a different party so much that we will rather allow ourselfs to be raped, abused and neglected by the politicians in power. You continue putting your head in the sand and blame the financial mess on the Supreme Court. How could the Supreme Court case which is barely 4 months old cause such financial hiccups? You are educated but still an illiterate. You can blame the opposition as much as you want but so long as you deliberately refuse to see the rot in this Govt we will all suffer the stink emerging as more shit hits the fan. No incompetent party deserves to rule. These are peoples lives we talking about. The rot this country has gone through in the last four and half years is scary, but why should the Govt of the day worry? It is the politician who rules. What about that. STX, akonfem, Chinese loan, tree planting, etc, are all government initiatives. Some have failed, others are ongoing, and yet, there are going to be other government initiatives. Perhaps, members of the NPP are overlooking the extent to which the case at the Supreme Court is really hurting the economic life of the nation. Every nation thrives on capital inflows. The economiy of a nation experiences strangulation, hiccups and deceleration when foreign businesses are not investing and reinvesting the capitals and profits, but are rather whittling those monies aways because of a perceived instability. Man, we are loosing in no small measure and I believe you don't care much about that. All you care about are laughable matters as akonfem, STX, and keep believing heresies and lies mostly from NPP quarters who peddle rumours and lies just to get power. People like you would forever have one reason or the other to complain about nothing real and truthful. Your frustration stems from the fact that your party is no more in power. Find a job, work harder and pray for God's grace. We are all going through some kind of hardship. You call the akonfem initiative and STX laughable matters, such waste of national resource is a laughing matter to you? A project which our taxes have been sunk into and will never yield any benefits and you think that is laughable? My profession pays me very well, but it is heart breaking to see my fellow citizens being taken for a ride by greedy and incompetent politicians. With regards to the SC has it crossed your mind we may be better off facing the so called hiccups now rather than have another election riddled with inaccuracies and sheer incompetence and end up with a hothead resulting to violenece? People like you prefer the status quo, lets keep doing the same thing over and over and not rock the boat. The SC petition may have some impact but capital investments are not planned and made within four months, no company worth its salt will be so short sighted. It is our bad policies and misuse of our resources that has got us where we are. Blaming the SC is the lazy mans option and the easiest excuse for our woes. We will still be exactly where we are even without the SC issue, when your whole president tells you all the meat has been eaten and we are left with the bone, you should be worried and very worried. Where was he when the meat was being eaten? What measures did they put in place to restore the flesh? If NPP had been in power and we found ourselves in this same position, i will hit and hit hard, it is bad leadership, poor management, corruption and greed that has landed us here. Be there and feel sorry for me, i am very comfortable but frustrated with the rot going on in govt and our public institutions, we all deserve better than this.

What is more endangering of freedom of speech than this irresponsible and draconian action taken by the 'party of democrats' against harmless Wereko-Brobbey only because he exercised his god- given right to speak up against certain happenings in his beloved party. Let's have prof Asare's take on this decision vis-a-vis his position on freedom of speech which he recently espoused on some major media networks and which were given wide publicity. It will be important to know if he holds those views or principles on free speech in good faith or just because he thought he was obligated to solidarize with Kuranchie even though he knew the knucklehead didn't really stand a chance before the law.
