It would appear that those in control of the NDC, for the time being, were bent on excluding other bona fide members of the Party who may wish to lay democratic claims to who becomes the next flag bearer of the Party by excluding them even before the mortal remains of the demised President were interred. It is also symptomatic of how political party elites in Ghana and Africa worm their way into the confidences of persons perceived as likely to ascend to power positions for purposes of eventual personal economic gain at the expense of the generality of the mass of Party members and the Nation which every President swears to serve under the Constitution...

Are you talking about, mobilise your base and be put in prison because of wrongfully demonstration or your application to the EC will not be accepted? If criminals are in charge, they will do everything possible to eliminate those who are bringing democracy, economical freedom and development to all.
They will steal the election through irregularities, corruptions (buying the votes of the people), etc.
So how are you going to erase these criminals?
Criminals in power can not be simply eradicate from power through democracy.

Adamu, think outside the box! So for no fault of theirs; these Mate Mehu nation wreckers and crooks found themselves behind bars? Boy, it is Action and Reaction. You go against the law; you get punished. No argument!
It is like Kwame Nkrumah got up one day to wreck his bad mood on these knaves. No, not that simple. Baffoe Akoto, Danquah, Busia and Company who through their terrorist acts were making the new nation Ghana ungovernable got what they ask for. The taste of their own medicine. Very Bitter!
Look Adamu the PDA did not come like a bolt from the blue sky. It was enacted to save the new nation Ghana from the juggernaut of Mate Mehu savages, hooligans and vandalism. Today, the 21st century name for PDA is called Patriot Act in the USA. The British have their own version. The US has detained Al Kaida culprits at Gitmo on the enclaves of Cuba just to jump the US justice System. The USA is a democratic state but when it comes to enemy combat the rules of the game are different.
For crying out loud, it was Nkrumah who imprisoned J. B Danquah under the PDA? What?! Are you kidding me?!Such an idiot! Danquah bombed Ghana loud and got the punishment for that, period. The coward was calling the shots but cowering behind shower curtain in his menace to Ghana's peace and security.
Now your porous argument that Nkrumah was the source of corruption in Ghana reminds me of Kufuor who in his ineptness to combat corruption blamed Adam for being the sole source of it. Adamu, each of us is responsible for our deeds. You cannot steal and blame someone else when you are caught in the act. See, between our two ears there are gray mass sitting up there protected in a box/skull. Use that gray mass to think. You Mate Meho faithfools and fool soldiers are damn miserable. Kwame has become your lightning rod for all that you lazy minds fail to do.
Was the former numero uno civil servant of the world Kofi Annan right or right? Sure Kofi Annan is telling us the plain truth. Take inspiration from Kwame Nkrumah's ideas and ideals to aspire for higher goals. That is the real deal. Son, there is no ill will intended for being told what all Ghanaians/Africans should already be be doing by now. Africa has massivep problems and we all acknowledge that. Where is the solution?! You will find them in Nkrumah's books. The answers lies with Nkrumah's ideas and ideals which is more crucial today than ever. Africa must Unite!

It is true that Mr. Nkrumah had a vision to make Ghana and Africa great and strong. He acted so due to local and international thread on him. Which indeed led to his downfall.
How Ghana will look like today, if he succeeded, no one knows.
Mr. Kofi Annan indeed ride on his diplomatic line. He refuse to analyse the reason for the backward of the nation, maybe because he did not want to open doors of politics.
Mr. Adamus point throw some light on Dr. Nkrumah style of leadership, that was not democratic. He is also making a point.
I think both writers are making points here and they both need to be encouraged to write more for some of us to learn.
I am sure most of the young generation need to know more about Nkrumahs act and why he did so.
Good work to you Mr. Adamu!

Adamu, in the first place the former first public servant of the world Kofi Annan does not need your unqualified endorsement or opinion to make this long overdue confession statement Kofi Annan should have said this whilst he was in office as UN General secretary, it is nonetheless better late than never. Kofi Annan’s statement is what is making rounds among world leaders both past and now. All sane Ghanaians do concur to the statement made by Kofi Annan except for you nation wreckers Mate Meho knaves.
Adamu your ignorance is bliss. Your unqualified opinion is fraught with so much bias that it betraxs your ignorance. When will you Mate Mehu acknowledge the fact that you crippled Ghana with the 1966 coup? In fact your write-up is an ultimate disgrace to Maame Ghana. Why do guys come to Ghanaweb to display your extreme foolishness to the world? Maybe I am in vain flogging a dead horse like Adamu.
Kwame Nkrumah is more crucial and relevant today than ever because his axioms and predictions have come to past and they were right on the dot. Nkrumah is still an inspiration for the whole of Africa and the black race. His unmatched legacy will live on and on and increase in popularity whilst that of your lazy minded Danquah/Busia sinks into oblivion. With regards to aspiration for a higher goal which Nkrumah benchmarked as the African personality; this will always remain the yardstick by which Ghanaians/Africans will be measured as well as excel in the world of science, literature and art. FYI the British and Americans are spying on their fellow allies thanks in part to wikileaks and Snowden revealtions. So don't be soooo naive and swallow everything you are told by the so called democratic states. Where their interest is concerned, democracy stops there. You guys can continue to tell your tales to the marines but not discerning Ghanaians.
In the words of Kwame Nkrumah 'We are prepared to pick it (Ghana) up and make it a nation that will be respected by every nation in the world.' I need an Amen! Amen!!!!!!!!Yes, we surely will. Yes we can.
Let us live up to Kwame Nkrumah's aspirations today and show the world what we are capable of." Kofi Annan
The former number one public servant of world is a trillion times wiser than you knucklehead. It is fools like you Adamu who rush in where angels fear to tread. To win notoriety in stupidity is nothing to aspire for.
How can a man patent stupidity and feel good about it? Go ask Okoamboni Ahootan!
JB Danquah who failed his standard seven exmas many times would not have got/had scholarship to study in the UK had it not been for Akyems betrayal of Ashantis prior to the Yaa Ashantewaa war. It was the Akyems who scouted the British through the jungle to enable the British to defeat the Ashantis in 1902.The rest is history; Kumasi was burnt to the ground. Thanks oh hell no, shame on you Akyem traitors. Your treasonous campaign will never make any Akyem lead Ghana for you Akyems will Punk Ghana and before we know to our utter astonishment or consternation sold it. Never trust an Akyem backstabber!
Adamu, you cannot undo Nkrumah or make him infamous or assassinate his charater, that is an uphill battle which the western press tried but failed bitterly. Nkrumah is now in the pantheon of the world GREATEST leaders. Nkrumah lives! Africa must Unite.

This analyst seem not to have a common ground to write this article to criticize Kofi Anna in a much scalawag manner. Yes! Kofi Annan wrote a good piece but the lack of critical analysis by this writer shows the angle his coming from and his hypocritical political affiliation coupled with his baseless analysis. In a minute he was talking about good governance involving all; at one point lose direction. I wish I had the opportunity to write an article to challenge this man but would neither waste my expensive pen nor my time to refute his argument. There has not been any president endowed with prodigious talent like Dr. Kwame Nkrumah-his projects tell it all. After 50 years you cannot boast of a single sustainable project yet you make noise. ''The Nkrumah'' you referred to has made you today and his over 600 projects within a brink of an eye is what the exploded population is still depends on. I never saw Kwame Nkrumah but having read 6 of his books gives me an impression about the subsequent governments after Kwame Krumah.

Why can't some people just let things be. Nkrumah was the first leader of Ghana and indeed, it was him who set out our aims and ambitions as a country. Yes, he was not perfect like every human being and if you had taking time to read his books after he left power, you will not carry on in your slumber.
In mentioning Nkrumah's flaws,I can also list endless flaws from other past leaders, such as, Busia, Limann, Rawlings, Kufuor, etc.
Some topics are beyond discussion and yet people like you are the reason we are always divided. In fact, I can assure you, Nkrumah did not make those laws just because he loved to impose and torture people. He made them because he faced a lot of outside influence with the help of traitors aimed at making Ghana an apron string to others. Upon hindsight, I believe he would have done things differently. but my God! evidence today shows he was absolutely right and sought the interest of all Africans if not Ghanaians.
Mr Annan, set out to encourage and his wise sayings should be left as it is and please keep your opinions to yourself unless your intention of a rejoinder, is to attract attention to yourself, then I caution you, this is the first ingredient of a possible dictator, Attention.

When an article can not walk because its contents fall flat on the face then you ask Mr. Albert Adamu why he loaded such poverty of thought on the web.
We stated yesterday that U.S. and her European allies do not like democracy and multiparty system of politics.
The U.S. Constitution bare communist and socialist parties in America from both congress and the senate.
It was a crime to carry, distribute and propagate socialist and communist ideology in the former British, French, Portugese and Spanish colonies in Africa. We stated yesterday that Kwame Nkrumah was forced by the British to expel communist from the CPP before Ghana was granted independence. Communist members of the African National Congress both Negro and Blaco were physically eliminated before majority rule was granted to the Bantus in that country.
We stated that there is nothing more corrupt than one country paying members of the security services in another country to overthrow a president and government they do not like.
Nothing is more corrupt than military junta members praising U.S. democracy at a time when the Negro was by that country's constitution referred to an animal less than the white man's dog.
Nothing is more corrupt than a super power bribing both civil and public servants in a country to prevent her socioeconomic development.
We stated that now that both Britain and U.S. had the prevention of communism act under which communist were imprisoned without trial. Britain also had the prevention of terrorism act even before Ghana became independent and that act was used against he freedom fighters in her former colonies. After 11th September 2001 anti terrorism acts in the advanced countries make Kwame Nkrumah's Prevention Detention Act look like a child play.
Now under suspicion the U.S. and her allies murder you extra-judiciary without trail.
We wrote that the one party rule was passed through a referendum and that the majority of Ghanaians accepted it. The arrest of Joseph Boache Danquah and Obetseby Lamptey averted further bomb trowing in the early 1960s.
Kwame Nkrumah's socioeconomic policies were aimed at making us independent economically, thus politically and the projects, institutions and factories that he set up attested to that. On the other hand Danquah and Busia told the British not to grant us independence.
