...The Government exercised the latter option when we disagreed over the judgment debt and other Gargantuan crimes. The Government, and my colleague Ministers at the time know that there was no provision for dismissal under my contract of employment as a Minister or that of any Minster.
I reserve the right as a citizen of Ghana to protect and defend my honour and integrity should this civilized challenge for the truth be ignored.
This is not the price I should be made to pay by the Government of Ghana for defending the Constitution of Ghana in the Waterville and Isofoton unconstitutional payments declared by the Supreme Court.

Having a thinking journalists is one thing that helps, but even more momentous would be having a cogent thinking systems.
You see, our systems is bereft of thinking and forecasting future opportunities and trends. The duty of a responsible incumbent is to engender a more conducive environment to businesses to flourish, whilst the gov't plays its arbiter role.
However, where are career advisement for all our educational institutions from elementary to tertiary institutions?; Zilch! Yet, we want products/workers/students who have been mostly bereft of hands-on-training to be competent when they are employed.
Where and when would government engender 12,000 megawatts of power for businesses to thrive?
Where is our 12,000 miles of dual-rail carriage tracks for durable, cheap, reliant transportation for value added supply chains companies to get their products to every corner of the country?
Why can't the gov't identify our present challenges, present trends of business and future opportunities and point and train the future workforce in order to be relevant and better functioning?
We now see our real size in the scheme of things, all apologies to Justice Atu. Our systems are dearth of thinking.
They call him no show Jones, seldom ever wrong, his where about unknown. I 'm country to the bone.

The NDC would have to explain to Ghanaians how a dead man came to author and sign a letter!
The opening paragraph states, “I came to serve; I have finished my time here on earth and have moved on to everlasting rest and celestial duties with my heavenly father.”
The immediate question is; how did the dead man come to sign his own personal tribute, since he is already in heaven?
The letter then goes on melodramatically, “As you leaf through these pages of my life’s story, I pray to God that it touches your heart in many positive ways. Weep not, I am not dead. I am alive and awake in the Lord. Ghana will not die; Ghana will live to declare the works of the Lord. As I rest in perfect peace in the celestial realms with my maker, I pledge to always uphold and defend the good name of Ghana. Remember the Lord in all your ways and He will protect you. Stay well my brothers and sisters, I will always be with you. Signed (with actual signature) John Evans Atta Mills...

The highest educational level this criminal ever achieved was a certificate in some mining field from some institution in Scotland. He has no earned sobriquet academia, never mind the honorific doctorate he is jumping all over himself with. He has no education in business. Just a conman setup with investments in South Africa as his reward by his neocolonial masters for selling off his nation's golden hen. All his wealth comes from sucking up the blood from Ghana - decades in Obuasi gold mines and still milking the state for what its worth as Vice Chancellor of Cape Vars.

You are referring to the Ashanti Goldfieds and the Futures derivative issue under Rawlings regime. This is the price a country pays when it allows itself to be governed and managed by illiterates like JJ Rawlings and ignorant but corrupt people like Mahama. Chaos and corruption reigns under the watch of those who are supposed to curtail it like we have now under Mahama's watch.
What Sir Jonah is saying is absolutely right. Most of the crop of journalist we have at the moment think being on TV or being seen interviewing people is all journalism is about.
I cring when I see and hear most of them making "analysis". They lack logical reasoning, depth of thinking and very myopic in their thinking.

Do we accept why the President HE JDM alluded to the inability of Ghanaian journalist to investigate and analyse issues and thus setting the agenda? Oh no, most of them are lazy, just as Sir Sam Jonah recounted here. We have people like half-baked illiterate journalists like Ken Kuranchie and Kwaku Baako parroting analysis they have no idea about and are hailed as great minds. Those media houses that continue to provide a platform for these misfits should take a cue from Dr Jonah and start inviting only people who are experts in their chosen fields.

For decades it seems we have got used to the poor gutter journalism and somehow think it is OK. In the 1980s, one lamented the poor grammar used by some journalists and their inability to capture the essence of a story.
This have worsened since, and we now have journalists who 'rush' to print their stories without proper research and ensuring that theirs will properly inform, educate and still retain whatever humour they wish to convey.
Worse still are those who use 'journalism' as an excuse for political propaganda and don't quite care about falsehoods or bad reportage which can incite and cause tension in the community. We should learn hard lessons from Rwanda and elsewhere and understand that Ghana is not immune to the human condition of 'hatred' and 'violence' and all it takes is a bunch of people hammering on sentiments which extreme elements in society can latch unto.
Sir Sam Jonah's call comes on top of Kofi Annan's call for us to return to the aspirations of Dr Kwame Nkrumah if we wish to progress as a nation. Nkrumah tried to inspire, challenge and help Ghanaians (and Africans) recognise who they are, what potential and resources they have and to tap into their talents, making use of all, regardless.
The Media have an important role to play to promote a sense of patriotism and national pride as well as a call to national duty in a neutral way. I have always believed that one's political leanings should remain private and that is why people's ballot is always supposed to be a personal choice.
If that is so, then whatever our leanings in politics, we should separate that from journalistic presentations and interpretations of issues. By all means, let us hold government to account and individuals as well (regardless of party colours or affiliations). If journalists cannot do this and continue in the way that they are currently operating, their work (and ministry) does not EDIFY but rather has the potential to DEFILE and thus be counterproductive to society.
Sam Jonah's are very wise words which MUST be heeded for our own collective good.

Uncle Sam as much as I do agree with you, I think the much have to do with our educational policies and dependably trustworthy political leadership.
Our today's politicians are those paying for the rubbishes of our young and inexperience novice journalists who have now turned to political sychophants and zombies simply because the more you write to attack a political opponent the more recognition given by the other political party loosing the ethnics of journalism.
Our politicians are the ones who have killed the spirit of balance reportage and the dream of the great man Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah to build a solid and patriotic brilliantly intelligent nationalist journalism as he did believed the pen is always mightier than the gun.
The problem with the journalists is the politicians, especially those who are in power and can afford to use state resources for every diabolical and unethical attacks on opponents.
We therefore need much more consistently trustworthy politicians with thinking heads on to give quality leadership that will inspire and motivate our young journalist and the next generation but not these bloody despicably unscrupulous "woyomenized" STX criminals parading as such.

Rawlings was the very person who put the criminal, Jonah, in the very position of authority to negotiate away for pennies our crown jewel – the Ashanti Gold Mine! It was all part of the heinous, monstrous job done on over 300 state enterprises by Rawlings and his P/NDC with the aid of some now very, very wealthy “Consultants”. For all the loot he was knighted for, Jonah hasn’t contributed a penny to job growth in Ghana. Rather he is still voraciously feeding off another state job as Vice Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast! He is dancing on the graves of the dreams of young Ghanaian graduates. With just a certificate course in mining in Scotland to his name, he is now flaunting both his traitor’s knighthood and the honorific doctorate his loot has purchased for him. Only in Ghana can this conman enjoy openly the fruits of his criminal enterprise. “Sam E. Jonah School of Business at the African University College of Communication (AUCC) in Accra“ indeed!!! Some mediocre, mushroom institution to bolster his low self-esteem. How many businesses has he created in Ghana? He has no degree in business or any other field! Any “numbers man“ can set up an equity fund with his loot. No biggie. But only in Ghana will they worship this voracious conman made out of nothing but crookedness!

In all that have been said about this man Sam Jonah who connived with the West (the UK) to downplay our intelligence as human beings and did what they did to us by looting and enriching themselves from our GOLD, the Ghanaian journalist should now be wise to know what kind of information the public would love to read, hear and talk about before they throw it into the public domain. Like begets like, they say. It is no wonder therefore that in Ghana these days, even the foetus in the mother's womb thinks of nothing but dooping whatever to make money, notwithstanding. Our children need to know about people who have made it not through theivery and corruption but hardwork and dilligence. It is our duty to educate the public especially the youth to see that money and wealth can be acquired through genuine and fair means. News like that of Sam's Business School is unimportant to us.
We need him to go back to Obuasi and apologise to the many he made life unbearable for when he went on mass laying off only in the name of maximisation of profit not only for the British Government and Loronho but also for himself and try to effect the so-called impact some bootlickers are saying his business school is going to have. He is not the first to have Business school in Ghana and la, la, he will not be the last. Honesty, Integrity and Good name are better than riches. He should amend the damage he caused to Obuasi and mother Ghana by his sheer greed and unpatriotism.

Good talk, but the rationale been advocated by SJ for the business school is at it very best, a common sense theory that have been developed and practiced for decades in mokola by the market women therein. For a business to thrive, one needs to understand the market and the consumer choices. Currently, but sadly the so called high "profile entrepreneur" men and women at best are practitioners of state controlled and monopolistic economic system, that are reliant on state patronage and protectionist regulation for survival. Over the years, the protectionist market model has never brought visible improvement in social welfare of the people.

Yes we need more debate on matters that would stimulate economic growth, business and confront poverty heads-on!
It seems our daily media publications of all shades vote far less time for what Dr. Sam is talking about here. Instead we read, write, whine, talk, hum, drink and even dream all day long about politics and interspersed with pettiness some of the times!
Issues that would provoke innovations, creativity and seeding of business ventures sadly receive relatively little attention.
I for one am very grateful to our journalists in doing their best under very trying circumstances in exposing the rot in our societies but there's certainly more room for improvement and I hope they are listening with all sobriety the counsel from this genius of the land of our birth!

So far an effective actual Revolutionary Media has come into view, to Ghana. We have not made this CHANGE, this CHANGE has made us to be creative in order to balance the insanity in this country. This new Thinking/Journalistic Revolution is an indication of a radical pervasive change, a complete change in our understanding the BRAIN and SUFERING of the ordinary Ghanaian.
A true solution to our socio-economic and political problems will have to come from the private sector, a Journalistic/Media Revolution !
