I reserve the right as a citizen of Ghana to protect and defend my honour and integrity should this civilized challenge for the truth be ignored.

This is not the price I should be made to pay by the Government of Ghana for defending the Constitution of Ghana in the Waterville and Isofoton unconstitutional payments declared by the Supreme Court.

The numbers are more in line with the petioners 11,842 slips than the respondents claim of 8,000.

By the way have the respondents finally retreated from thier calim that the pink slips are not important? That is amajor development because the numbers are hugely against them!

Where from all this mix up? The auditing of the pink sheets was supposed to put the case of pink sheets to rest, but it appears to be coming up with its own peculiar problems. In such a sensitive issue as this, the court panel failed to give exact instructions as to what the auditors should do. The failure to take initial inventory of the boxes was a clear case of missing opportunity - or for a better word, misjudgement! The rumour about an extra box of pink sheets in Atuguba's possession would not have happened if an inventory had been taken on the initial delivery of exhibits to Atuguna's office, and that figure had been passed on to the auditors. This must go for all parties. The respondents should have taken an audit of exhibits supplied to them in the first place before they signed on delivery. Let us hope the wise men will wise up after this case!

One thing the audit has succeeded in establishing is that there is a discrepancy in the number of pink sheets filed and the number been claimed by petitioners.

Mr Addision sunk below the depths of common decency to even question the credibility of someone who was engaged (not party to the dispute) by the Court to perform a service which they did in good faith. To tell the KPMG rep that he offered a cheap service and his refusal to provide the petitioner with a soft copy was not against corporate policy as he had earlier stated. Addison does not know the difference between advocacy and wrestling.

For a Supreme Court Judge to tell you, you are punching below the belt is such an indictment ;only a party that knows no shame will issue this rubbish from its communications Directorate.

During the entire proceeding, neither of the Respondents’ council has ever said anything to suggest that KPMG took an inventory of the pink sheets in the custody of the registry.

What was reported was that inventory of the boxes containing the pink sheets in the custody of the registry was taken. This statement is very different from saying inventory was taken of the pink sheet in the custody of the Registry,

I don’t know which school you leant your English from but I do not see any connection between the two. This is a clear example of how some reporters twist facts and throw dust into the public eye. If Layer Addison wanted to address the allegation by the respondent, the right and the appropriate question would have been to seek confirmation if KPMG took inventory of the BOXES containing the pink sheets in the registry. Ana any answer to such a question would have appropriately address the root of the respondent allegations in the matter.

KPMG rep rubbishes NDC fabrications

A partner at international accounting and auditing firm, KPMG, Mr. Nii Amanor Dodoo, has stated while appearing as a witness to defend the work of KPMG in its audit of the pink sheets filed by the petitioners in the presidential election petition, that the firm took no inventory of the pink sheets in the custody of the registry before commencing its work.

Mr. Amanoo Dodoo stated this on Thursday while being cross-examined by lead Counsel for the petitioners, Philip Addison, on the final report on the count of pink sheets it undertook.

Earlier, Counsel Addison asked the KPMG representative if it took an inventory of the pink sheets in the custody of the registry. Mr. Amanoo Dodoo in responding stated that the firm did not take an inventory of the pink sheets.

The clarification provided by the KPMG partner rubbishes various statements made by counsels for the NDC and John Mahama, Tsatsu Tsikata and Tony Lithur in open court, as well as various statements made by particularly NDC communicators that, KPMG, before the start of the count, took an inventory of the boxes and that the boxes in the custody of the registry had without explanation increased from the number on the inventory of KPMG to a new figure.

It would be recalled that a day after commencing its work, the respondents (John Mahama, the NDC and the Electoral Commission) raised various issues and threw out several allegations in open court, including allegations of criminality against the registry of the court among others, claiming severally that the boxes in the custody of the registry had been inflated and that an inventory taken by KPMG together with the other representatives of the parties proved their case.
The representative of KPMG also confirmed in his evidence that as many as 2,876 exhibits were found in the president of the panel’s set, which was not found in the registrar’s set and that a further 6,629 exhibits were also found in the registrar’s set which were not in the president’s set.

This supports the case of the petitioners who attribute the issues on the number of unique pink sheets submitted to mix-ups in the registry’s service of the exhibits to the various parties as it is clear that there are pink sheets in the custody of the president of the panel, not in the registry’s own set and vice-versa
