Is there anything organisation like "WORKERS UNION "TUC" and EMPLOYERS UNION" in Ghana? In the absence of this unions things like this happens and the problem is shifted to the Government, which should not necessarily be the case. It looks as if the Association does not even know what is happening there in Korle Bu. The Association should have been informed long ago to trace what is happening and decide whether strike or not. They or the works council of Korle Bu workers should have contacted and discuss the issue with the management. In this present Ghana this must not happen. Why should the individuals decide on strikes? Organise yourselves and stop beeing decieved. This even, may be the minister does not even know what is going on. Please advice yourselves well, in the interest of us your dear patients. We shall get there one day. Thank you

I must confess that I had liked nurses since I was a little boy, but I'm sure not to insult them like some folks have done here. I am married to a nurse who works at Korle Bu. She has not received a dime ever since she received her appointment letter about a year and a half ago. Knowing the kind of love and dedication she has for her work, I have always had to encourage her when she is downcast. What more can a country ask from her citizens. I think sometimes a country should be considerate of its hard working servants. I don't think they are asking for much.

I am disgusted about the way Ghanaians in general treat each other when it comes respect.
As civilized as Ghana is at this age, we have embarked on character assassinations, misinformation using the news media through the implosion of the new media (internet).Reading comments made by some of the writers I became befuddled about how we take time to insult the poor average worker(nurse)who works far beyond the 8 hours more than labor laws have laid down without any compensation. On the other hand a parliamentarian can get $75,000.00 to buy a car and rent an apartment for work he/she has not even started but Ghanaians are quickly eager to forget about that issue in minutes. According labor laws every employee is to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week. Any extra hour thereafter is considered Overtime(OT)and must be compensated accordingly. Ghana is more matured to behave appropriately than all the indulgence in attributes that is very so dangerous. Nurses have a right to be compensated for their hard work. My advise to those who have time to insult nurses or doctors; please keep your sick relatives at home and nurse them back to health if you think they are lazy, wicked and inhumane. At the end of the day you and I will have to deal with the nurses after the strike because we shall go to the hospital where nurses operate. Let's be civilized and respect each other. If we continue this path, we are laying the basic foundation for unnecessary civil strife which Ghana does not need and must not have. I sincerely think we can do better, can be better with each other. We can also agree to disagree with each other without all that diatribe we spew on each other. I am quite sure some will read and insult me but go ahead read, and call me all the names you want because it will not change my knowledge, name, and dignity. I will remain the same person until leave this earth. May the creator help all of us understand each other and respect one another.
