INCOMPETENT GHANA FROM PREZ TO ALL SECTORS.
This is the embarrassing story of Ghana after 55 plus years of independence from the white man; we cannot get one project right. The scholarship secretariat and now the GET fund have been chopping students allowances for years; it is a perennial problem which never goes away because the leadership of Ghana do not consider efficiency, competence, and accountability as priority. This is why Ghana has to look elsewhere to send students on scholarship to study. especially Germany. German institutions pay next to nothing when it comes to fees, and they have excellent universities and would be less costly. UK fees are so ridiculous. in Germany last academic year we paid 52euros per semester whereas some uk universities probably pay about 3000 to 8000pounds a year. germany also has various social support for students in such dire need like accomodation and giving grace period at the university to pay the fees.

Ask Haruna Idrisu and others who fooled some of us (the majority poor) then at the university if the war for institution of GETFund was to be used by the "haves" to perpetuate their lines of succession abroad.
The war for GETFund we fought in 1997-1998/99 was to enable the poor farmers' child to get free education in Ghana so that the issue of cost sharing and cost recovery will not deprive poor of higher education in Ghanaian Unversity in Ghana. Please Harry Sawyer was minister of edacute then. Consult him and am sure our petitions might have been stored in his house if he did not present them to JJ and the parliament then.
I remember it was Kuffuor who changed the import of the GETFund to please his supports. Actually we the poor who were used to champion the institution of the GETFund feel disappointed at the way it has been hijacked by the elite to the extend that we are back to square one where higher education is gradually becoming the preserve of the elites who already have.
Give the moneys to Ghanaian Universities and they can also compete with those outside, don't use it to enrich foreign universities.

BUT AT LEAST YOU ARE HOME
Why don't NDC send their students to Cuba and Venezuela. These are the NDC's advanced countries.
Go home. We don't have anymore money to waste on you. Next time seek things the right way and not through political doors.
Absolute nonsensense. U have money to pay over 50million in exgratia but you cant afford to let these poor students learn how to fish. At least guarantee a security for their future. Aba
We don't need to know how to fish from UK. Go to Bagladish or some pygmy people in the Indian ocean.
if there is no funds to pay their fees and accommodations, there should come home. how do they get the scholarship in the first place, was it not through corruption they got it. what kind of course are they studying in the UK ...

All they and their Wonyome and their Trokosi thieves know is to squander the revenue that comes to the national coffers.
I think this free education overseas shd stop since the govt cant afford to fund it.I believe the right students even couldn't get selected.
NDC used all the money to buy the
election
Is Mahama aware of that
We have universities in Ghana. NDC is opening one Volta Region soon. Come home and attend those Universities your corrupt daddies and moms have established in Ghana. No sympathy for those students.
