He has indeed done what no living politician in Ghana and Africa has done for his country. The tree of MODERN DEMOCRACY HE PLANTED , is now bearing fruit, and there is no way JJ RAWLINGS , would leave the political scene of Ghana for the thieves to steal the fruits. Until his death, no amount of intimidation could silence JJ RAWLINGS, THE FATHER OF MODERN DEMOCRACY IN GHANA. But Kuffour promised in his inaugural speech that he will pursue a policy of Zero Tolerance for Corruption but has ended up as the most corrupt leader in the history of Ghana . The man promised to deliver positive change in the lives of the people- seven years on, the only positive change that can be seen is the one that has occurred in his personal fortunes, the financial transformation of his family, friends, officials and cronies. The lot of the ordinary Ghanaian has grown worse under his watch- the living condition of the people was terrible and woeful- the suffering in the land has become ever so unbearable- the only thing keeping lots of Ghanaians buoyant is remittances from family members and friends living abroad , Kufuor was responsible for one of the most corrupt governments in our nation's history. A government which traded responsibility, accountability and transparency to the people for lies, deceit and complete discard for the rule of law, order and justice. The sad thing is, after eight futile years of NPP misrule, the people of Ghana were left with nothing to show for. Regrettably, We cannot forget the gruesome killings of Ya-Na Andani Yakubu II, the overlord of Dagbon and 40 of his elders. There are some of you out there, who would say that former president Kufuor is innocent. But is he really and what makes you all so sure? This is a former president, who has chosen silence as his defense. However, what Kufuor doesn't seem to understand is that the maintenance of silence could mean the admittance of guilt. He was the president of this country, when these crimes against humanity were committed. He was fully in charge of the nation's affairs. He could have deployed people to conduct a thorough investigation into these killings. But the question is; did he? I wonder what president Kufuor would've done had these killings happened in Kumasi with Asantehene and his elders being the victims. Would Kufuor have remained silent or would he have acted ?

WHY ? because the man promised in his inaugural speech that he will pursue a policy of Zero Tolerance for Corruption but has ended up as the most corrupt leader in the history of Ghana, Kufuor and his cronies’ looted plum state lands in Accra, Tema, and Kumasi. They stole state cars, assets, properties, and state owned corporations. One guy went as far as to steal all the furnishings and fittings in his official bungalow; freezers, AC units, curtains, pots and pans, cups and plates, blenders, toilets, plungers, brooms, etc. This guy even stole the ‘apotoyowa’ in the bungalow. Kuffour’s children who were paupers’ weeks before his presidency suddenly turned into dollar millionaires. His nephews and nieces found all kinds of plum positions in government. Even his village chief was elevated to official King of Ghana.

Both leaders were without faults, but they gave it all they could, given the conditions under which they ruled. You might not like them 'cos you did not prosper or get a piece of the pie the Ghanaian way but, they paved the way for our current free democracy and an encouraging economy. JJ and Kufuor, I could slap the two of you for some reasons but, I'll prefer tapping you on your shoulders and top it with a big hug. God bless you.

Can you imagine how insulting that is to the many men and women particularly in the public sector who are underpaid, overtaxed and in most cases overworked? His government has contracted loans from your not usual place to seek loans – a London hairdresser's salon, and his government had done just exactly the same things it accused the NDC government under Jerry Rawlings of doing. He had said corruption is as old as Adam, and there is not much one can do. His administration had been aloof about prosecuting corruption even in the face of mounting evidence of corruption against his ministers, a tag that will live with him forever. I personally would remember him as the president who never punished corruption, It increased under his administration. He once said that he is not corrupt because people brought him money and bribes “waawaa”, but he turns them down. Is that what a serious president supposed to do with people who attempt to bribe him? Ghana owes a due respect for all the women this African Tarzan transformed to widows, not forgotten their sons and daugthers who became orphans out of his silly ambition to rue the world. What kind of fear do Ghanaians have to this mulato, a winters skin underdog, who inflicts pain and anger, to majority of our people in his endeavour to loot our nation.
