THERE IS AMPLE EVIDENCE THAT OUR MANAGERS LACK SENCE OF ALERTNESS AND PREPAREDNESS TO ACT SWIFTLY. THEY DO NOT PLAN AHEAD AND PREPARE FOR UNFORSEEN SITUATIONS. TO PUT IT BLUNTLY, THEY WANT THE TRIMMINGS OF THE OFFICE BUT DO NOT LIVE UP TO RESPONSIBILITIES THAT GO WITH THE PERKS OF THE OFFICE THEY HOLD.

Much as Parliament is working out plans to give Ghanaians energy at affordable prices, they should rather handle the issue of inefficient managerial practices at ECG and VRA! There is too much curroption and syphoning of monies from the Energy system and rather blame it on low tariffs. If they are able to fish out 1300 illegal connection contractors, they should tell us how much power has effectively been taken out of their hands due to this malpractices. assuming each of these illegal connection contractors do install 100 connections per month, how much power is syphoned per month? how come their technicians and Officers failed to detect such theft. If not, is that energy being accounted for? or it is accounted into someones pocket? Parliament should work out more efficiet control regulations or laws to stump such spillage rather than adding burdens to the genuine utility consummers.

Cheap power??? Ghana has one of the highest electricity tariffs in the West African sub region and in the world. Apart from that, there are so many outages, high voltage and low voltage as well as fluctuating instances. How can they even want to think about increasing electricity tariffs? Is Kwabena Donkor not living in Ghana or is he using a generator full time? Why do they want to create hardships on Ghanaians and take Ghanaians for a rough ride?

Whoever told you power is has been cheap in Ghana. What is the average earning of majority of people in Ghana, compare that to the present tariffs and tell me how cheap it is. If you want to compare tariffs in America to here you must as well compare their wages to ours here. Any way it is your inability to transmit power efficiently (30% wastage during transmission) that is costing you. Do not blame the people. We the people never waste power because we pay for it. The bigger your capacity and the more efficient you become, the cheaper you should become, not the vice versa. Get your acts together,VRA and spare us the tantrums.
