if the President does not like the brand of politics of Dr Kunbour, he should reshuffle him elsewhere but he should not lose the opportunity to forge a good relationship with the legislative branch of government. It is an opportunity for the President to forge a good relationship with parliament and to not use this opportunity effectively will be unfortunate. The Minister for governmenet business in parliament should be a cabinet post. The minister for parliamentary affairs is a selling role. He needs to articulate government policy to parliament as their assent is usually required for major projects. He also comminicates the will of the people as expressed by their representatives in parliament back to government so that policy can be crafted to meet those needs.
Yes, Dr Kunbour may not be the best ally of the President and may also have personal weakenesses but placing him in that position of responsibility is to confer trust in him. He is either fully in or out.
