Anthony Karbo ought to apologise for his sexist and foolish comments about the views of Madame Akua Donkor who has said nothing different from what many other (mostly male) politicians and commentators have said on this case, including stalwarts of the NPP (whom naturally the likes of Karbo disagree with).

You are free to disagree with others' views but to describe her comments as the result of "menopausal symptoms" is disrespectful, totally foolish and uncalled for, and knowing the family he Karbo comes from, I am rather surprised that he would use such vulgar words fit only for the uncouth!!!

It is very disappointing and he must apologise for such base comments. It is a pity that in Ghana, people who aspire to political leadership and high office can get away with comments, statements, characterisations and posturings which elsewhere would have landed them in deep water, along with their political futures. As I am sure many would recall, in the last US presidential elections, candidate Mitt Romney lost quite a chunk of votes for mischaracterising 47% of the US population, and even his attempted apologies did not change people's perception of him. His credibility remains dented because of those comments.

In my view it is about time we started to hold politicians or their surrogates to account on their own utterances and if the NPP petitioners can attempt in court to play a tape of Asiedu Nketiah's comments in an interview and seek to capitalise on that, what is different about rude, primitive, chauvinistic and stupid comments such as this one from Mr Karbo?

EVEN IF SHE HAS A POLITICAL FAVOURITE, ONE WOULD HAVE EXPECTED HER TO SPEAK SENSE RATHER THAN SCANDALISE A CANDIDATE IN WHAT EVERYONE SEES A CALCULATED, UNREASONABLY OPEN SYCOPHANCY.
