I am disappointed that the issue of Kenyatta's date with justice to innocent Kenyan's who lost their lives and livelihoods is being undermined by the AU. The AU should not be turned into a machinery to defend thieves, murderers and power drunk politicians who have destroyed the future of Africa. The ICC should prosecute leaders who steal and bank resources of the impoverished down trodden African in offshore unnumbered Swiss type accounts. Shame to political elite of Africa who have nothing to offer but clever at stealing our resources.

Britain wage a colonial war against the people of Kenya when they demanded their independence from Britain and the leader then was Mr. Jomo Kenyattah. Thousands of Kenyans were murdered by the British troops and thousands send to prison. It is on record that the British crown did not charge the officer who shot and killed three Ghanaian ex-servicemen who demanded to be treated like any British soldier and be compensated accordingly.
That the time all those atrocities went on the United Nations was in place, together with its agencies.
The French also murdered hundred of thousand of Algerians who fought for the independence of Algeria. There is the issue of the intervention of Belgium and NATO in the affairs of the Democratic Republic of Congo. They murdered the Prime Minister of that country together with the Secretary General of the United Nations. NATO continue to support the carnage in the Democratic Republic of Congo to date and for the past 5 years one million DRC citizens lost their lives. Why did the International Criminal Court did not indict the presidents and prime ministers of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) countries if it claims that it is for justice and against the abuse of the dignity of the human person.
Turkey a NATO member country has occupied part of Cyprus since 1975 and in the same year Morocco also a western ally occupied Western Sahara. Whiles the United Nations did not indict the presidents of the U.S. until 1975 when racial segregation was practiced in the U.S., the presidents of fascist regimes in Europe, South America and the Zionist regime in Israel which occupied the territories of other countries and committed the worse form of crime against humanity.
It is on record that the Spanish governments have since 1945 being in war with ETA. The war between the people of Northern Ireland and the British empire has been on for a long time. Turkey has also been at war with the Kurds for decades. We all witnessed how Slodoban Milochovich was sent the the ICC for doing the same thing that NATO members and their allies have been doing around the world. Al Bashir of Sudan is also indicted, his crime being to maintain the territorial integrity of the Sudan. It of on record that the same people and nations who supported the territorial occupation by Britain, France, Belgium, Spain and Portugal, the racist segregation policies in their own countries and the support for apartheid in Southern Africa are now forcing the punishment of presidents of other countries that commit just a fraction of those crimes with capital punishment.
It is on record that the 99% march started in Europe and the United States at the same time the marches started in North Africa. The governments in U.S. and Europe ban the marches by their nationals. When the countries of North Africa want to do so they call them regimes without human rights and leaders who have over stayed their welcome. But it is on record that we have monarchies in Europe of which some of them are NATO members. Queen Elizabeth of Great Britain, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Gubralter and Forklands has been in power since 1953. We all witnessed how Col. Murmur Ghadafi was murdered by people hired by NATO and hundreds of his supporters murdered and even women from West Africa were raped by the Libyan rebels. However we are told that that does not qualify for crime against humanity. Nothing has been mentioned about the crimes of the Islamic terrorist in both Mali and Nigeria at the International Criminal Court because they acts are meant to send the people of West Africa to the stone age. So whiles the west rise hypocrisy to its highest point by killing presidents who are supposed to have committed crime against humanity they support terrorist groups who carry on the same acts around the world and some of the instances are Libya and now Syria. The Shiids who committed a lot of crime against the people of Iraq have not been charged with the crime against humanity. In Ghana Mr. Kennedy Agyapong still walk our streets because he is not a leftist and pose no treat to the west. Whiles the hypocritical west and NATO send Mr. Loren Gbagbo to the ICC or contesting the Ivorian 2011 presidential elections to court the same people praise Nana Akuffo Addo and others for sending the Ghana 2012 elections to court.
In the face of the facts given above it is only a gullible African, therefore a Ghanaian who will support the ICC.

this is also the way so called clashes happen in kenya but then they don't mention 'race' but 'tribe'

In spite of your cluttered article, Kwame, you must be congratulated for at least showing that some Africans are enlightened and they have recovered from the trauma of mental, if not physical, slavery.
Those Africans who still consider that those who have committed the worlds most heinous crimes against humanity - i.e., slavery, colonialism and now neo-colonialism, still have the moral authority to point fingers at other people who have committed relatively insignificant crimes, have still not benefited from the abolition of slavery and the emancipation of slaves that took place way back in the 18th - 19th centuries, they have still not learned or gained any benefits from the civil rights movement that at least, granted minimal rights to over 30 million Black Americans in the USA in the sixties and worse of all, such pathetic Africans, like Awuah Nyamekye, have still not realized that Ghana and indeed many other African countries gained independence from the authoritarian barbarians from the late sixties onwards after over 500 years of multiple crimes of genocide and the random and willful extermination of Africans - sometimes for mere sport, entertainment and pleasure.
It is people like Awuah Nyamekye who have given up their God-given cerebral abilities as human beings and who have therefore become the moles and the enemy within, who are the main obstruction to the difficult challenges facing Africa and Africans all over the world today.
Africans without the interference and manipulation of western former slave dealing countries, are very capable of managing or mismanaging their own affairs just like any other people. Unlike people like Awuah-Nyamekye, some of us have not capitulated to the western propaganda that we are a mentally retarded and backward race of people who still need to hang on to the apron strings of our oppressors.
I am not particularly in favour of any of the two Kenyan politicians who are contesting the summons to appear at the so-called ICC which in itself, is just a modern replacement of the horse-whip that used to keep black slaves subjective and in line with the slave masters whims. Both of them are merely todays version of the house-nigger who as more pliant slaves, were used to control the other plantation slaves. Kenya is today is a mere neo-colonial enclave of western imperialist interests. The new slave plantation. Both Odinga and Kenyatta would ordinarily not give much of a damn about African Unity but for the fact that they are being whipped into line by their colonial masters.
The long and short principle of all this is that, Africa will not submit to the whims of racist white institutions that have been set up to calm the waters and to pave the way for further and greater exploitation of the African continent. Just like those who have refused to be part of the ICC but see the need to criminalize others there, Africa, without the likes of Awuah Nyamekye can, deal with its own peculiar problems without the arrogant dominance of the so-called ICC.

As the heads of state party in Ethiopia and others merry, one cannot wipe away the hike in media sensation about African Unity and the debate it rekindles in Africa. You may be someone touting African Unity while asking others to avoid talking about Kenya?
On the other hand what I find rather astonishing, hypocritical probably cynical about the ICC the way they leave others off the hook. About 90000 people are dead many others suffering in Syria; why then the nonchalance of ICC? Also Gbagbo didn't kill the 3000 people in Ivory Coast all alone. Alassane Ouattara and Guillaume Soro equally share the blame. Ouattara is directly linked to cheques issued to Burkinabe rebels which operated at the north of Ivory Coast. They talked about it.
Finally, until the ICC revise its modus operandi, it should be deemed incompetent to judge Africans brought before it.

Nana Ansah, I agree with the first part of your contribution in principle but what is this rubbish about the need for youthful and dynamic faces in the leadership of Africa? This is just one of those carefully injected imperialist ploys into the African domain to distract us from seeking capable and serious individuals as leaders.
What we need in Africa are sensible intelligent, brave, strong and capable leaders capable of confronting our greatest enemy - whether they be youth, elders, women or children. Such much-needed phenomena dont come easy. Like Kwame Nkrumah, they come once in a thousand years. So when one is lucky enough to have one, dont you think that it would be rather wise to hold on to that person for as long as it takes? Do you yourself know of any African youth or politician of any age who is as fiercely nationalistic, capable, progressive and as brave as Mugabe who is almost 90 bloody good years old?? Do you in all sincerity?
Also when Europeans see it fit to do so, they keep their Kings, Queens and political leaders as long as is useful for their peculiar needs. However, they pump their toxic ideas into our shallow minds that it is not right to do so. Africans will now also do the same when and if we find the need to do so. Africans do not want to continue to play "ringa, ringa roses, a pocket full of daisies atishoo, atishoo, we all fall fall down ......" That is, changing political leadership every now and then as it were, for the fun of it.
We should be tired by now of being led around by the nose in the wrong direction by people whose prosperity depends on our continued backwardness.

The African power drunk and materially greedy monster leaders are fighting the ICC because it hunting after some of the heartlessly monstrous colleagues for trials.
How could it be possible for that an American President or a Western Prime minister will plan to adopt High Court Judges pathetically including a breast feeding mother, an innocent military Officer murder them all in cold blood and go free? And why are the Bush, Tony Blair and the Zakosi all walking as free people?
It may be true that about 99% of those accused and tried so far by the ICC are all somehow discriminately from Africa and this may be possibly so because of the horrible things our political leaders unbelievably do here.
Africa is made up of 54 strong nations yet non of these is a member of the UN security council which have commanding Vito powers.
We are segregated and disrespectfully looked upon yet the entire Africa membership still troop to that organization that have no respect or regard us as people and continent.
The problem here is not about the ICC it's about the UN itself and if we do not protest to have one or two member states within the Security council we should not talk about the ICC or any cheating in any international institutions.
We are even cheated within the IMF and the World Banks. Whilst the IMF or the World Bank will give say a billion to a Western country with a population of say 7 million people without any conditions they will give may be 160 million to an African state with a population of say 20 million with attached conditions including recognizing the despicably homosexualism and all the Western ills yet Africa keeps silence whilst the discrimination and social economic exploitations go on in favour of the oppressors.
Lets learn to recognize a world of our own in Africa, creat our own military command, common market, common communication systems, common currency and open our borders for the free movement and trading between our people and Blacks in diaspora and stop being part of these international nonsense with full of international crooks and criminals, slave masters and imperial exploitative elites with policies that does not favour us and representatives who have no respect for us as people, our culture, our religion and identity but only interested in our rich naturally gifted resources.

African leaders are careless, pathetic, dishonest, wicked, irresponsible, heartless, power drunk, corrupt, greedy etc and they deserve to be hunted by the ICC because the various courts in our various nations cannot try and jail any African leader indulge in any form of genocide or anything against their citizens.
When and where did any African leader, who ordered the killings of his fellow citizens, was arrested and put before the court in his nation, tried and put in prison? Never and it will never happen anywhere in Africa. If the ICC did not cause the arrest of Charles Taylor, this man will be still around and causing mischief. Look at Gbagbo. He lost the election and instead of giving up power, he wage war killing his own people and imagine France did not intervene, he will be still around pounding his chest as a strong man.
Any African leader, found to be engaged in ordering the killing or slaughtering his people, should be hunted down by the ICC and if arrested, should be sent to the Hague to be tried. Our justice system in our nations are too corrupt to try our leaders.

Yet not a single soul from the west is held accountable for the atrocities caused in Iraq`s first and second Gulf wars. These atrocities are being committed as we speak in Afghanistan,Pakistan (Drone Killings)of children in their sleep.
As for Iraq the least said about it the better.
Just yesterday there were series of bombing across the country killing hundreds and it`s been happening everyday since the death of Saddam Hussein. They accused Saddam of killing his own people but they killed more Iraqis in the 10 years of occupation than Saddam did in his over 30 years rule. That country is finished just like Libya.
Did the US declare victory in Iraq?Absolutely not, instead they sneaked through Kuwait under the cover of darkness and off they went like some little cowards.
Why none of these leaders are in the Hague? And what made you think only African leaders are criminals and good for the Hague and NOT leaders from the West(NATO)?

My position is this, these leaders that you mentioned, do not TURN THE GUNS THEY HAVE ON THEIR PEOPLE like our leaders do.
Tell me, when did any European leader do that? Mirosevic or whatever did that and Bill Clinton and some of the European leaders, pushed him out of power. Remember that he was sent to the Hague but died mysteriously.
The problem I have with our leaders is they do not hesitate to slaughter their people by clinching to power.
Our leaders are cowards and very stupid. If they reason very well like humans, they will never put our the light and tell their people to walk through mine infested field.
Look at Sudan; why is the nation divided? Just because of idiotic policy by Omar Bashier. How many black African did he kill at Darfur? What about the carnage that went on in Rwanda and do not forget Sierra Leone and Liberia?
European leaders do not close their eyes and slaughter their own people and that is the point I am making.

After decades of years of independence the black man still blames the white man for her woes. We have leaders all over the continent who have no vision for the people they serve. Take a country like Ghana who after 56 years of independence can't even boast of constant flow of water supply. There is no electric supply 24 hours to boost production if any at all. When lights are turned off intermittently without prior notice, the people just sit and pray that it's turned back on. The roads that 10 million people were travelling on over 25 years ago, today, 25 million people are using the same road. That is if even these roads are wealthy to travel on. The same school buildings that were used 40 years ago, are still being used today. I leave room for you to think about the state of these buildings. Do you blame the white man for these too? Come on people!

Africans in the diaspora have been suffering racism for a very long time. In a sense, the ICC is a blessing to Africans in the diaspora because without ICC, African governments have turned a blind eye to discriminatory and harrasing acts directed at African driven by racism. The ICC has laid the issue bare and more is yet to come.
Racism is not justice in the pursuit of justice; access to services at white emabassies, visa acquisitions, travel restrictions targetted at people who are dark in complexion, wage inequality especially blacks in Europe and America, access to employment and employment discrimination, access in health care, access to education, unfair trade, offering shit money for African products, blocking access to European and American markets in the name of quality. Extensive research to support the endemic discrimination and racsim in Europe and America. The AU must address racism to all citizens of Africa.
