It is incredible and equally unacceptable for the Regional manager of the ECG to shift blame on the contractors to hand over the project to them on completion, and for six long years no action was taken to adress the situation untill now.The matter must be properly looked into since it smacks of condoning and conniving with some of the big wigs of the company to syphon its finances for their own pockeks. These are the people who turn round to blame succeeding Governments of not performing. We must try to hold the bull by the horn when we are contributing on this forum than hiding behind political insinuations and then miss the target completely.

When Kwaku Baako informed us about the atrocities of Kwesi Pratt during PNDC Regime, some of us did not believe until the truth was confirmed during the NRC. Kwesi Pratt is the most dangerous Journalist Ghana had ever have, he had the gut to recommend his fellow journalists to be executed by PNDC. Pratt even recommended Baako to be killed by the regime, thank God Baako was instead touchered violently and severely but his life was spared. This is what Kwesi Pratt can do. Now Pratt is a secret agent to NDC and US Embassy in Ghana. May God forgive Pratt and spare him the untold evils that will come upon him and his generations. The souls of those journalist killed through Pratt's recommendations to PNDC will never forgive Pratt. Now Pratt has the guts to take Diplomatic Passport and smuggled his weak-headed children to work at the Ministries under Mills NDC, may God forgive Pratt and his dependance and spare them of the evils ahead of them...

I was asking the same question. For six good years, this Hon. John Abdulai Jinapo did not know what was going on until now?
These MPs and directors need to go out into the field and find out first hand what is going on with the practical side of their meetings and their departments. The theory is enough. And they have sat in their offices for too long.
God help us.

Apply the same standards to the government and its institutions as you intend to do with these poor folks. It is criminal for the government and its institutions to be allocated funds for the payment of utilities and yet fail to do so. Why don't you send them disconnection notices as they are already on the national grid and have not paid their bills in years?. Do something revolutionary and courageous by switching off their electricity for non payment and let's see their reaction.

IT'S UNFORTUNATE SUCH A THING COULD HAPPEN AND THIS SHOWS A GROSS INEFFICIENCY OF THE MANAGEMENT OF ECG. I ATTRIBUTE THIS TO ILLEGAL ELECTRIFICATION. THE ECG MANAGEMENT ARE UNAWARE ELECTRICITY SUPPLY IS A BUSINESS VENTURE. IT'S THEIR RESPONSIBILITY FOR ALL ELECTRIFICATION PURPOSES APART FROM INTERNAL WIRING OF NEWLY BUILT HOUSES. IT'S ALSO THEIR SOLE RESPONSIBILITY IN ENSURING METERS ARE FITTED IN ALL HOMES WITHOUT COST AND SUPPLY OF POWER STARTS AND CONSUMERS BILLED THERE AND THEN. ONCE THIS IS IN OPERATION, CONSUMERS GET BILLED IMMEDIATELY. THEIR PROBLEM IS THEY ALLOW PRIVATE HOME OWNERS TO DO EVERYTHING THEMSELVES. THIS IS THE CAUSE OF ILLEGAL ELECTRIFICATION AND OCCASIONAL FIRE OUTBREAKS. THE COMPANY NEEDS EFFICIENT MANAGEMENT. HOW ON EARTH CAN THEY ALLOW FREE CONSUMPTION OF ELECTRICITY FOR SIX GOOD YEARS? THE REGIONAL MANAGER'S ARGUMENT IS BASELESS AND UN-CALLED FOR. WHO IS MORE POWERFUL, THE CONTRACTORS OR THE ECG? THE MAN NEEDS TO BE SACKED. THEY ALLOW CONTRACTORS TO BE IN CONTROL IN ORDER TO GET THEIR KICKBACKS FROM SALES OF ELECTRIC METERS AND OPERATIONS ILLEGALLY CONDUCTED BY THEIR FRONT MEN TO THE DETRIMENT OF THE NATION. NO WONDER THE MASSIVE PROBLEM CONFRONTING THE NATION IN THIS AREA. THESE ILLEGAL CONSUMERS DO NOT ALSO HAVE THE NATION AT HEART. TELL ME IF THERE IS NO ELECTRICITY SUPPLY AND THEY HAVE TO DEPEND ON LANTERNS, WOULD THEY NOT BUY KEROSINE? BUT THE ECG HAVE TO BE BLAMED THE MOST. IT IS THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO EXTEND WIRING INTO ALL HOMES AND METERS FITTED IMMEDIATELY, FOR THIS IS THE ONLY WAY CONSUMERS CAN BE BILLED RIGHT FROM ONSET TO AVOID RE-OCCURRENCE.

Why should communities be connected to the national gris and they will not pay electricity bill? Is it the normal thing to do? Seriously speaking, there is something wrong with this country. We complain ECG is not mobilizing enough for its operations but we sit unconcerned without collecting bills.
The same thing happens to Ghana Water Company Ltd also. A particular house was connected to the water distribution line in 2012 and up to date a single bill has not been delivered to that house. The house is around the ''Fish Pond'' taxi rank.
What are all these people working at these companies paid for if they cannot exact bills and ensure that they are collected from consumers.
This only tells that we are not keeping any records of the work we are doing at our various offices. Is this country destined to succeed at all with this lackadaisical approach?
The best for ECG to do is to seriously introduce Pre-paid meters all over the country.
The theft and income leakages will stop.

if npp decide to use meters to attract vote from the communities by installing the meters directtly from ministry of energy without the involvement of ECG,how do you expect the ECG Management to take responsibity of the npp government gross inefficiency? the contractor was given the contract directly by the ministry of energy and not by ECG,so after the project was completed they suppose to hand over the project to ECG so ECG cannot be held responsible.
