I remember, during the time of AFRC, the short period before Hilla Limann came into power in 1979 (June 04, 1979 - September 24, 1979), corruption was near zero. Ghanaians were afraid of being flogged publicly, going to jail without trial or being disgraced publicly. So, they were law abiding (for a short time).
This means that to rid Ghana of corruption, you just have to BEAT it out of the people (for a long time). Now, that's funny, right? Yes, but the evidence is there! It worked!! Even Jesus used an extreme measure to get rid of all the hawkers, criminals and crooks who had set up shop in the temple. Yes, he did!
On a more serious note, since we cannot flog our way into a corruption-free Ghana, we can try to implement out laws better. Think about it, there is no real price to pay in Ghana for being corrupt. As mater of fact, corrupt people, criminals and crooks are admired in Ghana because they use their ill-gotten wealth to influence the people. We kowtow to them because most of us have no self-respect and we just want 'something from them for nothing'.
What really is the price to pay for being corrupt in Ghana? Imagine customs officials collecting excise taxes and duties at our ports (for the country as their job requires them to) but keeping the money for themselves; and all our late President John Mills only did was to drive to Tema to PLEAD with them to stop doing that? How ridiculous does this sound to you? Will you be scared and stop stealing from the country if you were one of these officials? Hell, no!
If there is no penalty for being corrupt, why will this deter anybody from engaging in it. If we have a country where our leaders, politician, judges, police, government officials and the people are either thieves or/and corrupt, Jesus will not come down and solve this problem for us. 'He has other fishes to fry'!

It is only the change of attitude that can rid Ghana and other African countries from corruption.
God has already blessed human beings with the abilities to determine our own destinies.
Therefore, to achieve this goal, let some of us change our attitude first, then let all of us, from the grass root, hold our leaders accountable. Let's consistently use the mass media, peaceful demonstration, our constitution, etc.
Believe me, it would make a change.
We don't have to wait for God. He is always with us. And, he is providing us with everything to make us, our country, our continent and the whole world content.

Appiah- Ofori is a complete failure as an anti-corruption campaigner. We must take our destiny into our hands and fight against corruption rather than through our arms into the sky and calling Jesus to help. In the days of Jesus there were evils in the society and I do not think he was able to wipe them off.
For corruption to work, the laws of the land needs to be implemented to the full. People attending interviews for promotion and appointment need to be examined on corruption. Our curriculum in all levels of education needs to address the issues of corruption. These could help fight corruption.

And why should we create self-inflicted endemic corruption for Jesus to come and eradicate it for us? Ghanaians will crucify Jesus again if ever attempt to rid them of their favourite Passion and cancerous disease which is corruption.
The confession of Paul Collins Appiah-Ofori an Insider is a real testimony of how clueless these crop of leaders are.
Our Society have been morally defiled so much so that the dream of riches is what only Counts. This a country where people worship corruption religiously and hope that the vice will vanish when Jesus arrives.
The million dollar question is how can Jesus who died penniless convince Ghanaians that there is more to life than Money? Please leave Jesus out of the equation. We are part of the Problem and should take our responsibility of being part of the solution.

We read in the good book about how the Jews forced the Romans to eliminate Jesus because he was thwarting their effort to suck the blood of the poor etc.
When Jesus comes to Ghana, we will do whatever possible to get rid of him just for us to keep going our corrupt ways.
Don't we have laws to combat corruption? So, why can't we allow the laws to work? The answer is simple. Those whose duty is to set the ball rolling, have refused to walk the walk and in this regard, what should we expect?
Corruption can be minimized but outright elimination, is not possible. Corruption thrives where humans live but with tough laws, it can be kept under the rug. Ghana cannot do anything about corruption because we have "willfully" refuse to crack the whip that tackles corruption. Look at those who enters politics. Most of them are poor and with that when they get the nod, the unthinkable happens. The same goes to those manning government, private etc jobs. They all have the same mentality to eat with two hands and push some through the nose.
As I said before, the only thing that can tackle corruption is, we should allow the law to work. No favors whatsoever. Without that we should forget it.

Jesus who could not write a book about himself and the wonderful work he did whilst on earth. A Jesus who is forever quite and silent enjoying the Heavens would fare better in his new world as a spirit. He must have to rewrite the country's constitution
to install himself as a president forever.
Presuming that there would be no political resistance to his "one man thousand venture Jesus is going to have his hands full so much so, he may have not keep pace with his honesty which the world of yesteryears and of today have grown to learn about.
Furthermore, could Ghana be the only country that could be on Jesus's agenda for the 'corruption onslaught' albeit the resuscitation and complete eradication of corruption of any kind currently abound in Ghana?.
How about corruption in Nazerite-Jesus home town?
Remember, Jesus was not a politician, neither was he made a king to rule any of the tribes in his native Israel.
One wonders if he would come out as someone else other than he was in his next visit.
To claim/say that, Jesus is the answer to our corruption woes, one coming from an elite like Hons. Collins-Ofori is something that makes me wonder if Ghana as a living country is 'intelligent'.
That is probably why we have no answers to an evil disease called corruption try as we did.
I guess, we would have to live in it and with it, until it goes on a ditch beyond repairs.
In that case Jesus, somewhere, somehow would find a way, a time during his busy schedule, "His Healing Ministry" in his next world tour. perhaps would manage to repair it for us to live peacefully debarring that malignant cancer there after.
Could we be serious if at this time and age, we woefully still insist, it has to be Jesus and not ourselves to solve our own self inflicted problems?
Beats Me.

If systems are created by humans, then they can make it work better efficiently. From anti-colonial rule to independence, military rule to democracy in Ghana, it has been Ghanaians who did it themselves, so they can stop corruption or minimize it to the lowest level. Jesus, God , Allah or any call on some spiritual entity is stupid, false and narrow-minded.
Systems fail but can be corrected. We are a democratic republic and not a theocracy. Enough of this religious nonsense talk going on Ghana instead of concentrating on the system work. Politicians and all Ghanaians can do better for the country to function and run efficiently for the good of all. Leave out the religious bullshit.

Trust me even the whiteman is tribe and nepotist. Corrupt must be seen by all to be bad even for the perpetrator. There should be constant public scrutiny and auditing. That is the only way to limit the impact of our flaws. What is happening to Nigerian kids in the UK should send a warning to our corrupt leaders, that buying houses abroad and sending their children to live in, will not save them from the calamity they help create in Africa.

Modus Operandi: They cancel the collection dates generated when new applicants are due to collect their passports. Then after 1 month they start GO-COME-GO-COME to frustrate applicants. After series of visits then the applicant is asked to pay between GHC150 and GHC500 depending on the urgency. They must expect to see themselves on YOUTUBE soon. Surely, Ghana is bleeding terribly because of a number of obvious factors easy to identify but strangely difficult to eradicate or reduce it significantly.
The biggest culprit is deep seated CORRUPTION and worse of it all the helplessness of the government to confront it head-on. It's deep seated because it's an extremely complicated network involving high-ranking officials.
A classical case in point was Anas Ameyaw's clinical exposure of the disgusting corruption at the ports. One wonders what really happened afterwards!
Appiah Ofori seems helpless as his call appears to hurt an intricate core of a host of money-sucking nation wreckers who rarely care a hoot where the nation heads towards so long as they get their "share"! The very fabric of the law enforcement agents themselves is not clean. So who watches the watchman?
Corruption is every where in the world but many nations persistently take pragmatic and workable and no-nonsense approach to deal with it or completely discourage it due to the weight of punishment for it. Ours has become so endemic it's literally a way of life; we see nothing wrong with it. You don't grease it, you don't do your "part", and you lose a vital service or get no employment, or simply would be frustrated by some dirty hands till you succumb... so the good and decent are sadly fueling the flame.
The solution? The Government. It's one reason we go to the polls to elect LEADERS to govern.
The nation is bleeding left, right, centre, forward everywhere....and when will the Government awake from its slumber and put the brakes on? Swift and decisive is the approach if government is not an accomplice in any corrupt practice itself. The centre will and can never hold if a government is part of the problem. Wondering how? Stretch not further. Woyome's saga, what a lesson for years to come?
Oh Ghana!
