A member of the legal team of the petitioners, Gloria Akuffo has stated emphatically that they are opposed to the motion filed by the third respondent.

She said in a post trial interview on Monday they will contest the application.

The Supreme Court is expected to hear arguments on the application and make a ruling before the substantive hearing of the Election Petition case continues on Tuesday.

He is a waste and boring. He is bleeding a lot. He needs CPR for resuscitation. Other than that this guy will die without any mark on Ghana's legal issues. All what we know about this Tsatsu is that he was legal brain behind Rawling revolution that was designed to bring division among Ghanaian ethnic groups. Tsatsu Tsikata was architect of that. That was the only thing this guy will be remembered when he died. He is no good.

Again, the only time the President can be cross examined in public is through impeachment trial. That is the difficulty with making the President, the first respondent. Remember the Monika Lewinsky affair, the Special Prosecutor did not hold the session with the President in public though it was recorded and later some sections were broadcast. If it becomes necessary to cross examine the President, it may be done in private and not open to the public. The Presidency should not be belittled.

If you say the President did not swear on the affidavit and cannot be cross examined, that I will agree with you but if my memory serves me right, I remember President Kuffour being interrogated about his son's hotel when some NDC members sent him to the EOC or whatever their acronym is.

The President in Ghana can be cross examined because it is the constitution or Electoral law that stipulates that, the President in such election disputes should be made the first Respondent and the EC the second Respondent. It is the Supreme Court that erred by allowing the NDC to be part of this letigation because the constitution or the Electoral law did not give them any locus in such litigations

Instead, I said because the President (Mahama) did not swear the affidavit as the first respondent but Asiedu Nketia did, it is highly unlikely that he would be cross examined because of an earlier order by the SC that only those who come by sworn affidavit could take witness box.

Since you asked to know about the legality of Tsatsu, I am not a lawyer but I know that, as someone who was pardoned by His Excellency, Ex-President Kufuor before he left office, Tsatsu is no longer a felon but a free man. His conviction has been wiped off the records. That is my understanding of a Presidential pardon.

By the way, what is wrong if Nana is called to the witness box? He is the first petitioner in the case, so he should be able to tell the whole world why he thinks that he has been robbed of victory. The opposition from Gloria Akuffo doesn't make sense. I think, if it is possible, both Nana and Jake should appear in the witness box to level charges against the respondents. This means that, if the law allows it, President Mahama may also appear in the box to answer those charges. It is better for this case to travel the distance than it having a dire consequence on the nation.

He is the one who ordered Afari Gyan to over look the CI 74, saying no verification no votes to rather allow even those who have already voted to vote as many times as they like. So what was the reason for the registration? Nana Addo wants a speedy trial that is why they've chosen Dr. Bawumia to represent the three. Tsatsu did not even qualify to cross examine anyone because he represent NDC whereas NDC as a party was not sued. The SC judges made a mistake in the first place to have allowed Tsatsu to be in the courtroom to begin with.

If what we're reading or hearing is true then it is becoming evident that Justice Atuguba is losing his grip on the case; he's somewhat confused! How would he allow Tsatsu Tsikata to use they court system to drag on the hearing? It's no wonder that the NDC keeps on saying that Tsikata has taught many of the Justices in school. Atuguba could be one of them. If so then Tsatsu does not regard them; he believes he's clever than they are, afterall he's been their teacher and knows how to twist and turn matters with them. They're saying Tsatsu knows the laws better thatn most of the Justices and therefore, there's victory for the NDC.

Judging from the on-going process, the Justices seem to have been dazed or overwhelmed by Tsatsu's tricks and have no clues about how to control the hearing. There's no end in sight, at least not in the next 2-3 months.

It's pathetic! People have begun to wonder if there isn't a calculated ploy behind the scenes to force this election fraud hearing getting into a stalemate or a deadlock?

Each passing day, the justices allow or entertain certain clauses to be used by Tsatsu Tsikata, to find ways to stall the process. People are gettiin impatient and thet's why they're wondering if the Justices live up to expectations that everyone is demanding, esp. about this fraud.

I'm of the conviction that the Justices would deliver the verdic soon. However some of us in Canada, the US, England, Germany and other countries have grown weary about the Supreme Court Justices in their style of handling the case, having heard all the NDC's been bragging about.

It's news that the Justices are mere children in front of Tsatsu Tsikata. They're saying that he knows the law more than most of the Justices. Let's pray for our Noble Justices for divine wisdom and direction. This case shouldn't be allowed to drag on unnecessarily.

Well, this is an election fraud and Ghanaians want quick answers. The hearing isn't supposed to drag on forever as you seem to suggest. Ghanaians are eagerly waiting for the verdict so our nation could be run properly.

It's your wishes that the hearing drags on for years on end. NDC guys are funny! They're afraid of their own shadows. They said NPP didn't have any case and that any idot can go to court. Now they wish the Supreme Court would allow NDC lawyers to stall the process by their delay tactics.
