Why would a Ghanaian Bank count $72,000 cash into the hands of an illiterate driver without smelling anything. Banks in Ghana advise customers to count their monies before leaving the Bank. So, this driver sat at the bank and counted $72,000, and then walked away to deposit the cash in his car? Which manager authorized this payment at the Bank? Why did the GFA decide to pay the Ghanaian management committee members in US dollars. Since when did the NDC government dollarize and authorize the Ghana expenses of the GFA or any other institution in Ghana? Has anyone else in Ghana (apart from your truly) tried to withdraw a thousand dollars of his own monies from a dollar account and been told the Bank has no dollars? It happens to me very often. How long can Ghanaians continue to look on while the Vultures in Power (VIPs) continue to take Ghana as carcass and devor it while the same animals tell doctors they can not get what is owed them; schools are still held under trees; roads are in disrepair, pregnant women still give birth on hard, cold floors (if there are doctors). Oooops, does anyone care at all?

Public corporations in Ghana have limits of how much a single financial transaction can be in cash - much less than this sum. There is a limit of how much a single individual, including CEOs, can carry in cash. That again is far less than this amount. You give a cheques of $63,000 to a semi-literate driver to cash from a bank, in the glare of onlookers and carry through Accra in broad daylight? Please give us a break.

It is just another one of those Woyome-style "wonkye ndzi" "share and cop" cases. The person who approved the pay voucher, the one who wrote the cheque and all those who signed it must be arrested. The dishonesty and fraud under the Wofa Atta-Mahama circuses are getting unberable.

Ghana signed a $1 billion lending agreement with China Development Bank Corp. as part of the biggest loan in the country’s history that Vice President John Dramani Mahama said would provide hundreds of thousands of jobs and develop natural gas.

Ghana signed an $850 million agreement for a gas project between the Ghana National Gas Co. and China Petroleum & Chemical Corp. (600028) in Beijing and the rest for information technology projects, Mahama said. The total amount of the loan will eventually be $3 billion and Ghana will send China 13,000 barrels of oil a day that will be sold at market price on the day, he said.

The Ghanaian oil is not being used as collateral for the loan, Mahama said. The money will not be paid off using the country’s natural resources, he said.

What about issuing certified checks to the payees or making direct deposits. the fucken government together with businesses and corporations should get use to making payments and deposits through electronic banking. i am tired of reading about monies getting stolen from GFA and other companies. it seem like we don't learn or we are all part of the thievery.
