THIS IS WHERE MAHAMA NEEDS TO STEP IN, OVERRIDE THE MIN OF FINANCE'S DECISION AND RECOVER THE CONVERSION DIFFERENCE BACK TO THE DOCTORS. SO WHY ISNT HE DOING SO? BCOS GH IS BROKE? I DONT THINK SO.IF GH IS BRIKE TODAY, GH CNAT BE BROKE TOMORROW. SO JUST WRITE A LETTER WITH THE PRESIDENT'S SEAL TELLING THE DOC'S THAT THEIR CONVERSION DIFFERENCE WILL BE GRANTED. THIS WILL GET THEM TO RETURN TO WORK ASAP! WE HAVE TOO MANY FOOLS IN POSITIONS OF POWER. What a shame. In those days at medical school interview, you are asked if your father or mother or uncle is a doctor. Not for anything, bbut to keep the values and virtues of the medical profession and alive and ensure that the "idiot" knows what profession he/she was venturng to. Someone shoul ask the GMA President Dr Opoku-Adusei and hos colleague national executives of the GMA if during this strike, he still goes to work in his private clinic in Kumasi. Because its the same Ghanaains anyway

Instead of wasting time on all this diatribe and naked nonsense, why doesn't The Chronicle use its reach to impress on the government to do the commonsense thing. First, why did the FWSC unilaterally and in "yentua style" decide to order the conversion difference stopped? Did the Chronicle find out? Why did they even try to deny it? Second, why don't all those so-called renowned Ghanaians ask the government and the FWSC to come out and give any reasons? The NDC is an evil government. Why is the government spending all this time denigrating, insulting and making the doctors (and all others on strike for the same reason) look like some irrational and insensitive professionals when, in fact, it is the government incompetency, plain stupidity and brinkmanship that is responsible for the mess?

This is nonsense stories. Chanel these stories to the government who has the authority to stop the strike. What the doctors do during the strike times is inconsequential. This issue according to the info, has been there almost a year and no one cares. Where were the chiefs, Kofi Annan, opinion leaders and other hypocrites? They deserve what they are asking for so let the government cough the resources, is Ghana resources and that is why we elect governments to do not to go and pay judgement debts and MPs with huge bonus without any work. The president should focus on solving the issues sensibly and stop using the media to appeal while him and his cronies pay themselves all sorts of bonus, allowances etc. Nonsense of the highest order. The doctors should sit down till all their demands are fulfilled, no one paid their school fees so they owe no one any services except those they are paid to provide.

this extortion is not anything new, pardon me to say this when you are in a sector that you are being paid so less and everybody is expecting from you,i mean the family and the society this is what happens, don't blame them let just face it how do people survive in ghana especial those being paid less than gh1000, most Ghanaians always want to run away from the truth, conditions in the country is not good about 10% of the population are leaving good We should ask ourselves why is everybody going into politie? The answer is cos there is money there and one will be comfortable, which they are among the 10%.Talking about doctors i dont support the strike, but what we are all refusing to realise is that they are also suffering because they are not getting their tips like they get when working. An average doctor in Ghane take home is less than Gh 2000,
with petrol and all that how do they survive, that what we should ask ourselves, they did not ask for increment but pension allowance which i dont think is much, but the government creating the impression like they are asking too much and refusing them of their right, the government can easily end the strike but they want to prove a poin at the expense of we Ghanaians, the ordinary people.
Thank you.

A Cardiologist came up with a new operating procedure that would cut down the time that heart surgery would take and would cause less trauma to the patient. He was praised by his peers when he presented it at a convention in Washington D.C. He was also paid $50,000 to present his findings.
The cardiologist did a few more of these presentations and realized that it would be more lucrative to do lectures on his findings rather than continue to work as a surgeon. So he decided to do the lectures full-time. He hired a driver and purchased a limousine.
One day, after he'd been doing the lecture circuit for about 6 months, his driver turns to him and says, "You know... This is completely unfair."
"What do you mean?" asks the surgeon.
"Well, you get paid $50,000 every time you do this lecture and that's more than I get paid in a year," replies the driver.
The surgeon explains to him that it is a very complicated procedure and that he is the only person that can give this lecture.
"That's not true. I can do your lecture blindfolded. I have seen you do your lecture so many times that I know it by heart," says the driver.
"Well if that's the case, I'll tell you what. You do this lecture and you can keep the $50,000 if you do it right." replies the surgeon.
The driver replies, "Ok. You're on."
So when they arrive at the lecture hall, the surgeon and the driver change coats and the surgeon puts on the driver's hat and sits in the back of the room.
The driver nails the presentation. Not only that, he also answers all the questions without any problems. Just when the driver thinks he's done, an audience member, wearing a lab coat and tape covered glasses stands up and asks a complex question that the driver is not able to answer.
"You know..." says the driver, "I have done this lecture 287 times and I have never been asked such a stupid question. As a matter of fact, that question is SO stupid that I am going to let my driver answer it."
