So the idea of our courts sitting on holidays to adjucate suits was a novelty which was going to cut down loses in productivity, financial burdens and expedite the delivery of justice in Maaame/Daaavi Ghana.

All laws in Ghana are subject to the supreme law of the land. That is, the Constitution. Any law (primary or secondary) that is contrary to the constitution can be ruled unconstitutional. In that same vein, the so-called "No Biometric Verification, No Vote", will be ruled unconstitutional. I have always held that view and this ruling will prove me right but we wait to see what the nine Justices will say.

What about the rights of those who abided by the EC rules and subjected themselves to the biometric verification? Do they also have any rights under the rules of engagement? What is the point in having any rules if you are going to change them without reasonable cause? Selective application of the law is dangerous and no country ever became civilised doing that, and Ghana will certainly not if it continues down that path. I have never turned up at a polling station at 11 pm in Oxford and insisted I be allowed to vote because I am a registered voter, because I know the law says polls close at 10 pm. I have not yet asked for biometric identification of my identity at the polls in Oxford because it is done in other countries,it is not a requirement there, I would be rightly considered an idiot if I did too.All rights under law are conditional even your right to life itself.

The objective of the biometrics is not discriminate or disenfrachise voters.Agencies or commissions are allowed to make administrative rules but where the rules are in conflict with the constitution: the constitution become supreme. If the EC had refused to allow people to vote because BVs were malfunctioned at the time of voting, it would have been a constitutional breach and disenfrachised voters could have sued the EC for violating their constitutional right; which is their rights to vote.

The SC is the interpreter of our constitution and therefore it is their interpretation that stands,Those who are foolishly thinking that a mistake by the ec which is unconstitutional will determine this petition must think twice.When there is conflict between a secondary legislation and that of the letter of the constitution,the constitution prevails.The ec's secondary legislation which is a basis of this petition is simply wrong and can therefore not hold.

What is going to happen is that a bunch of corrupted fools will be replaced by another bunch of idiots. And if you think everything will be OK then you are living in cloud cookoo land. NOTHING will change. There is a vacuum in Ghana politics and smaller opposition parties are too weak to take advantage of the vacuum. What is needed is something like the Arab Spring, I call this AFRICA AWAKENING starting from Ghana the first country to get our independence. This is the constitution we are talking about. Judges are meant to interpret the constitution and not change or void parts of it.It was part of a constitutional requirement and needed parliamentary attention if indeed it was wrong. The constitution is lettered with problems but the best way forward is constitutional reforms not judges cancelling some out as they please. I can see the over-reaching consequences if this decision is not challenged and reversed in court. Don't say I did not say this when there's crisis.

Please the case must be reviewed again. Somebody should file and appeal or we debate the issues.Our Judges must be seen to be working especially in these times when our CI are weak.

We can not govern ourselves with a constitution that was made to protect a few who are no longer in power. But judges can not change or void laws. That is a fundamental truth and there are consequences. In fact, some instruments will even need referendums.

Ghanaian should know that the political space is occupied by llazy bombs who have nothing to worry about becouse the state will look after them as it has been for generations.

The populace should spot these people and get them out of Accra.

My advice to Ghanaians is that since no one knows the out come of the the case between NPP and NDC especially so no bias judgement from the judges of the Supreme Court, why not run off voting to determine who will actually co ...

This wiil short cut all doubts who the judges will favour.

They do not have monopoly over the NDC in legal brain power. They will be exposed, but sadly the country's stature would have been somewhat diminished. Democracy and the Rule Of Law is being applied unfortunately very nagatively, and that does not enhance stature, it diminishes it.

this thing called 'DEMOCRACY' has left the even the whiteman(inventor of democracy) in a quandry often times. how do we expect to import it and make it work for us blacks without any alterations! look at the iisues that we are facing now. but the blackman is too lazy to think of an alternative so he slaves to unravel all its technicalities and indulgencies and finally bow to confusion, then bewilderment, despair...shortly after that corruption and all the rest that comes with it. the message is 'we are not whitemen and democracy will not work for us in its raw form!!!'

If it's established that the NDC stole the verdict and the supreme court decision to overturn it is appealed, Ghana will be at war. I'm pretty sure, JDM has done it again - bribed his way through the supreme court.
