1. If a chief sold a piece of land to me and I sold it on to someone else and the land had been used for galamsey who should be held responsible or who should be arrested. The chief or the purchaser, who now become the legal owner of the land?. Chief Odikro(or head of the odikros) should give this a deeper thought than your flippant utterance. Because of your status and authority in Akyem Abuakwa who would arrest you even if you were one of the culprit. Stop the chip politics Nana. Akyem Abuakwa citizens are quite knowledgeable.

Besides giving the foreign nationals land to grow rice and shipping it to their various country to feed their nationals, corrupt chiefs do not understand they are caretakers of lands they supervise. The land is the property of the public and the government of Ghana. Galamsey should be wiped out completely. Look what happened to Obuasi mines and the township. Mahama, this is your first test. I have said elsewhere and I say it again: the Okyenhen has the means to end this galamsey problem. Here is the plan of action he should follow:

1. Call a state Council. Invite prominent Akyems who are not chiefs alsao to attend.
2. Ask the Chiefs HOW their Asafo Groups can be resurrected,
3. Inspire them to resurrect the Asafos, with the express objective of patrolling their lands and evicting all galamsey operators.
4. Supervise the operation, or appoint someone STRONG to be in charge of it.

I hope the Okyenhen won't be afraid to do this just because the Asafos often cause trouble for corrupt chiefs, with destoolment attempts. If a chief is ruling with clean hands and dispensing true justice to his subjects, he has nothing to fear. Certainly, the nation OKYEMAN needs a strong, organised stand against this marauding that is killing its rivers and streams before our very eyes.
