They didn't carry gun. All they had was a piece of truncheon, and who dare you go near a policeman? Now, little girls openly slap Ghana Policemen on the street in broad day light.

When it comes to Ghana Police Service, they have no boundaries; they collect bribes in the open,
whenever there is a mounted Police Checkpoint, it is not about security of the nation but a scheme to scoop money from drivers. It doesn't matter what level of officer we are talking about; it can be a commissioner, their way of life is bribery.
If it is not open air bribery, it is blatant disregard for the law and stealing. It's always shameful. I am sorry!

What investigation do the journalists need ,the picture shows vividly, that these police were in hurry to suck the leaking petrol.look at the people in the picture holding gallons to take their turn before the police loot everything. Secondly, let us assume that the police were asked by the owner to safe-guard the leaking petrol, the first thing they could have done is to call for the fire service who would have brought another tanker to transfer the said dangerous substance.Dont let us defend the undefendable We thank those journalists, who brought this picture.

Honestly i was very sad when i read this story.Where are these so called journalists taken our dear Nation to?what kind of journalism is this?i wonder whether the paper which published this story has an editor, how could you on earth as a journalist publish one sided story.Am ashamed of the reporter and the media house that came out with this story. The three major roles of the media are to entertain, educate and inform but with this kind of mischievous write up i wonder whether those behind this story really know their responsibilities as far as their roles as journalists are concern. My first question to this report is that,do they know the role of the police? If they do what are they?if they do not know the major role of the Police as per our constitution is to save life and property,2,After they received the complaint from the fuel owner do they make any verification to the Police station/District to find out the reasons for taken custody of the fuel?3,in tines of accidents who takes custody of items belonging to accident victims and where are they kept? 4,do they think the police will stoop so low in committing crime in the clear vision of the public with police car?i think this is illogical,5,have they interviewed the Officer in charge of the District of contacted any of the Police chiefs to hear their side of the story? If all these are not done what do they want to achieve with this article? The story is mischievous and malicious, just to dent, and tarnish the good image the Police is studly chalking this days. And to the contributors i wonder why this story could be link with two poor senior Police Officers and a poor Police constable,i think this has nothing, absolutely nothing to do with an Officer dating a subordinate or an Officer been interdicted, its about time we contribute basically on issues on board and stop going over board.I will encourage those making the allegations against the Police Officers to boldly make their cases through the right channel and stop, linking to cases correlated to the issues on board. If they have personal, problems with the above mentioned Police Officers, they should find a way of dealing with those problems because this is not a platform for registering their displeasure.

Dearly Beloveds, please permit me to repeat what I've stated in an earlier article on the same topic, the fuel that leaked from the tanker contains a high percentage of sulfur and other toxic chemicals, which if inhaled, can cause serious damage to internal organs and in some instances death.
Compounding the problem is the fact that residual fuels, besides being highly toxic, are highly flammable/Inflammable, a single spark, or a rise in temperature could have caused the tanker to explode, incinerating everything in the immediate area, including the clueless rogue policemen.
The police represent the front line of civil defense in any country, they represent public safety and law and order. In this case, the policemen failed miserably in the performance of their duty. Properly trained policemen would have treated that scene as a potential disaster area, and evacuated everyone from the area, including residents within a certain radius of the accident, they would've immediately called in the Fire service, who would've been able to safely solve the problem.
The policemen who indulged in stealing fuel from the leaking tanker, in essence abandoned their responsibilities and joined those who were involved in an illegal act. If these uniformed policemen can switch sides and join wrong-doers in broad daylight, woe beyond to the Nation when night falls!
The supervising officer/s of this unit must also be booked because these policemen are out of control, and if there is no comprehensive and satisfactory report of the accident, then the supervisor/s probably shared the loot, and are therefore culpable.
I'm hoping that this serves as a wake up call for the IGP, who seems to be oblivious to the wanton corruption inside the Police Service on all levels. The Police Service does not need a leader with the longest service record, the best leader is the most visionary, thus the most creative.
All is not lost because Ghana Police Service still have many decent, hard working and very dedicated Sisters and Brothers on their payroll, who put their everything on the line to protect us 24/7, and we must salute those and encourage them to continue to serve the people honorably.
FORWARD EVER, BACKWARD NEVER.

oooooooooooooooooooooh police in the news for stealing fuel?what a shame,i dont blame any body but politicians, most police officers are not well scrutinizes before they are enlisted into the noble profession due to political interferences,if protocol list of would be police officers far exceed 70% of the total recruits population what should we expect. If we have senior Police Officers like Mr Wisdom Akorli, and Odame the interdicted Divisional commander and DPS Odame the Akwatia District Officer who could threatened civilian with a Pistol because of a police constable and keeping another Police woman Alima Morrow in his bungalow for sex without allowing her to perform duties as her colleagues in charge of sensitive positions what should we expect?Am happy the IGP had interdicted Mr Akorli for his behaviour sothat,he will not interfere with investigations, but the worrying aspect of it that, the same IGP failed to conduct investigation into the behaviour of Mr Odames who once assaulted one of his subordinates in town in the glare view of civilians and school children and his involvement of love affairs with subordinate and moving her to stay in his bungalow and gave her preferential treatment. For example goes to duty as and when she wishes.Nevertheless, there are still well behaved Police Officers around who are still raising high the fallen flag of the Police.Mr IGP,if you want to succeed, check some of this crooks in the service.
