Those people who colonized us for several centuries and freely looted our mineral and natural resources to develop their countries and today we have to queue and face dirty questions and humiliation from their ill-behaved and badly trained officials before they grant only a few of us simple visitors visas? As for that so-called Professor, the least said about him the better. His views are of the typical mis-educated, first generation African intellectual. These chew, pour, pass and forget ‘intellectuals’ are so totally useless that they cannot come up with solutions that will help us as a people advance towards greater independence of mind, thought and politics - and because they do not have the ability of original thought and initiative, they dwell on the illiterate premise that we should continue to live under subjective slave-like conditions and continue begging for alms from our oppressors.

I do not know why Ghanaian journalists continue to refer to any fool with a few letters after their names as experts. What kind of expert is it that does not seek self-development and racial - if not national advancement and pride? What kind of expert is this that is even afraid that his historical oppressors might see that he is independently making his own friends?

For all those centuries that the British dominated us here in Ghana, they could not even provide something as basic as a democratic system. They ruled us under the most deplorable dictatorial conditions ever known in world history. That penny-half-penny Professor should go and find out why. We should give thanks to Kwame Nkrumah who liberated us from them and introduced democracy to this country. That is why they have always disliked him and that is why they and their local puppets dislike other non-western leaders who are trying to open the eyes of their people to respect their own people first.

If that so-called ‘Professor’ Bluwey believes that the title that is attached to his name is worth what it means and he is man enough, he should come back to this forum and explain to the understanding of all what he means by “the complex nature of international politics”. Bullshit! Perhaps contrasted with his rural upbringing and in his little world and knowledge, international relations seems complex to him. For some of us it is not. We are forced to live the collateral damages of it every day to the detriment of our lives.

It seems that this Professor Bluwey is the one who needs to be debriefed from the imperialist brainwashing that has beclouded his brains and eyes and which prevents him from being a proud, independent minded and a self-respecting human being. He desperately needs to be cured from the 'happy slave' syndrome which has traumatized him to fearfully exist under the shadow of those who live by the whims of the devil.

If on the other hand he is one of those who like Afrifa, Kotoka, Busia, Obetsebi-Lamptey, Danquah and other followers of the UP/NPP clique, who have offered their themselves to our life-long enemies as mercenaries to pursue the battle against the interest of Africa, then he is the one who is advised to pipe down and take heed of the growing nationalist interest. At least for once, this is something Mahama has done that has earned my respect and we must applaud him for that.

Isnt it frightening that the likes of this obtuse ‘Professor’ are the ones who are supposed to be ‘educating’ our children in tertiary institutions?

We cannot antagonize the West by flirting with its avowed enemy- Iran, and then go cup-in-hand asking for assistance the next moment.

Nkrumah did the same, and Ghana paid dearly in the long run. He had a socialist/communist posture, yet desired the benefits of capitalism. neither the Soviets not the Americans trusted him. In the end, the powerful countries in this world are practically the proverbial "thief and judge", so we need to be very tactful about the way we play our diplomatic cards.

The relevance of any action taken, is the reverberating repercussions it causes. Yes on the surface, we are free to associate with whoever we want. So are Iran's enemies free to dissociate from us. In the end who suffers ? We do.

For your information, when Nkrumah wanted to build the Akosombo HEP, he sought financing from the US. In the end he got a very bad financial deal. It is rather funny how, we thump our chest when matters like these arise and eventually acquiesce when the line is drawn on the sand. We all saw Rawlings and his Maxist ideologues make all the noise, and eventually succumb to austerity measures prescribed by the Bretton-Woods institutions. We simply have to take a long view and once we are well situated, then reasonable resistance can be offered our would-be bullies.

We suggest to Mahama to resusticate our gold refinery built by Nkrumah and set to start operations 4 days after Nkrumah was overthrown on 24 February, 1966. The gold refinery has been abandoned by successive Ghana governments.

All of a sudden the first bomb was thrown aimed at killing Nkrumah and Nkrumah had no coice but to enact the PDA in 1958, like the Guantanoma Bay Prison Camp set up by USA, when it was revealed that JB Danquah was holding secret meetings with some white men. In all 7 bomb attempts were made to assasinate Nkrumah. Eventually, Nkrumah was deposed by America CIA in collision with the Danquah-Busia elements on 24 Februay 1966 and this sounded the "decay" of Ghana.

Some of us who grew up under Nkrumah sympathise deeply with the youth of today because the youth of today are starved of opportunities. Nkrumah gave the youth so many opportunities so even if you were born into a poor family you did not feel the poverty because Nkrumah's approach was that Ghana belonged to all of us, rich or poor.

By the way, we just learnt that Ghana and Iran have been in good diplomatic ties for decades. Because Ahmadenejad has gone rogue suggests we remain cautious. Ghana cannot cut diplomatic ties because of a single visit. It is not done. The Western world understand this complexity and President Mahama is savy enough to tow this line with all the caution it deserves.
The West is following our politics of late, and can discern a good professor in politics from a selfish professor who wants to wreck havoc by his rhetoric.

The professor may lack the experience that the system of things are changing and we are no more of the stupid onesided politics of USA takes all which make us slaves indirectly in the past, he may also have a hidden agenda to undermine the govt. or he may be one of the degree holders of no real credibilty.

Every average intelligent Ghanaian will sure surely understand your anger b'cos the professor should rather have called the attention of the west and that stupid israelis to understand that the world does not belong to them that they should tell nations of which directions and friends and policies they have to be in line with.

I also saw the primitive and low level mentality with his reference to the supporting of the budget. If the west plus Isreal really are helping us with what is called Capital help I do not think here is where we have to be today, though we do have our short comings.

The Iranian President talks about peace and justice,maybe he can explain why it is criminal to be a Christian in his country.Also to those serial writers complaining about the West dictating to Ghana and infact the entire African continent,I want to ask them one question.If you have a working son or daughter who needs your financial support to take care of monthly bills,dont you think that gives you the right to somehow dictate to him or her?If the answer is "yes" then that is Ghana's predicament.We go to the West every year with our budget and ask for their help in picking up the shortfall,in the end they reserve the right to dictate to us .Somebody please tell me if I am also naive or wrong,and please I need sensible answers only.

If we carefully analyze Ghana's development we would realize that most of the aid to build Akosombo, Tema Motoway, Tema township, Schools, came from the West and not from USSR or China or Iran. In fact it took the help of the Americans to tap our oil. Rawlings during his radical 20yr rule could not get USSR, Cuba, Libya, or even China to help us tap our oil.

When Mr Obama suggested that gays should be allowed to live their lives so many of us called him all sought of names. Even America allow him to come to UN general meetings.

The question here is how prepared are we as nation in using our resource to better our lot. Before his visit, the Iranian president was in Niger then to Benin and now Ghana. look Niger because they are looking for Uranium to fire the nuclear systems and France has seriously cornered the Uranium supply there so that place is a no go area but 'schemingly' he was there, now on to Benin for whichever reason i know not although yet to find out then to Ghana. The main purpose of this west African tour was because of Ghana yet out people just have not thought about this.Ghana per what I have come to find out so far has Uranium deposit which is unexplored, so the whole idea is Ghana. now how do we make sure we benefit from this? we dont have any western nation disturbing us with matters of Uranium currently but as it stands now if the Iranian gets in then we are in business in that area. and what would be the pit falls we risk being abandoned by all these so called western and Israeli acquaintances but what would we care if we gain nuclear technology from here managed it and became a supplier of power in the sub region and by extension if possible Africa. your guess would be as good as mine. well you have a point but I would not trust a westerner or anybody for that matter for their words. Because they would all milk us dry with their stupid clauses in agreement dry and dead so please do what you wish to survive that is how I see it.
