Which subsidy are they talking about? The government has been removing invisible subsidies for a long time. May be the IMF should look into our books closely to see that like all other sectors, the economy has been mortgaged. We are slowly dying and nobody can survive another round of price increases, not anymore!

Yes, the subsidies must be removed. Many oil producing countries including Britain, have no subsidy on their petrol. The government must stand firm against NPP-sponsored public resistance. But NPP would be first in adhering to IMF request to remove the subsidies had they been in power. They are playing games with people's minds because they are out of government.

The IMF job is to destroy countries economys including the USA where they want the tax's raised! Once you get a IMF loan they will require you to reduce import duties to other countrys..This is why Egypt is taking a muslim loan from Libya rather than take an IMF loan!

I thought Government had already stopped subsidizing fuel.......if they still have subsidies to remove....thy should do it quickly.. then Ghanians would just have to resort to ridding bicycles and walking to work in the coming months. It would not be all that bad.....it will make for a healthier nation in the long run I guess......lol

NDC thread cautiously on the promptings of IMF. Let me employ the good old Ghanaian anology of a car inscription and it reads: "Don't mind your wife chop bar." NDC thread cautiously on IMF instigations. See what has become of Cyprus, Greece, Portugal and even Ireland. Careful my country men. IMF prescriptions have become a recipe for disaster in Europe and the Euro is dying a lingering death. Angela Merkel's popularity is on the decline and with a looming election in the next two months, she might not stay or hold her coalition for long. Do what is right for Ghana and the people who put the party in power. Already the political climate is not good at following power hungry Akuffo Addo and his Akyem mafia's wranglings. John Mahama, watch out. Also stem down corruption in public places. Lead by example and not by "its our turn mentality of norhern cacuase." NDC is allergic to tribal politics. Eschew tribalism and appoint competent men into public offices. The South under Nkrumah, Rawlings, Atta-Mills and even Kutu Acheampong had been good to the north. They opened up thee north for develpoment unlike Britain in the olden days. None of those personalities were tribalistic. Listen to elder statesmen and don;t be afraid to consult folks like Rawlings, Joce Aryee, Kojo T and many more in the business and financial cycles. Learn from Nigeria's mistakes over the oil find and avoid greed.

She is absolutely ignorant and only thinking about her fat salary. Tell her to forfeit all the benefits attached to her salary. She thinks just mere words are the solution to this all-important issue which affect every critical part of the Economy. After all who is she to dictate to Ghana on the Ghana's own policy?
