Corruption has been sanctioned for a section of the people thus fulfilling the revelation by Kofi Awoornoor that the so-called revolution was meant to lift some people out of economic doldrums. Can't you see the government doling huge sums of the nations scarce resources to non-entities who have not worked for it.

(SOURCE) JOY ONLINE:------------------------------The National Democratic Congress has more than doubled Ghana’s debt in four years but it has very little or nothing to show for it, New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for Obuasi, Kweku Kwarteng, has said.

According to him, after government increased Ghana’s debt from $8 billion dollars in 2009 to $17 billion in 2012; after enjoying oil proceeds, the first government in Ghana’s history, after enjoying windfalls in cocoa prices and gold prices the only evidence NDC has to show for these huge inflows are power cuts, water crisis, gas shortages and unemployment.

The Obuasi MP said his constituents have for over ten months not had water flow through their taps and there has not been any official explanation for it.

He said the whole country has been plunged into darkness with government sources and spokespersons providing contradictory dates as to when the power cuts will come to an end.

He made these assertions on MultiTV and Joy FM’s news analysis programme Newsfile on Saturday.

What is worse, Kweku Kwarteng added, the country is operating a huge budget deficit of $8.7 billion up from $6.6 billion in 2008 but with nothing to show for the expenditure.

He said whilst the citizenry are suffering, government and other state institutions are blowing the country’s money through unnecessary overspending.

According to him, the presidency alone over spent over GHC600 million without consulting Parliament.

Kweku Kwarteng also accused the government of completely running down the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) with the view to privatising it and has failed to account for the TOR recovery levy which was imposed by the NPP to offset the TOR debt incurred as a result of subsidy on fuel prices.

Naturally this level of thoughts and understanding of politics is what we are all hoping to reach, a level of realizing what our responsibilities are. I congratulate you guys of such a wonderful high level of awareness and good thoughts for our beloved nation though I find both of you still struggling to cross the barrier that we have wrohgly inherited from our old folks, yet I appreciate your intelligence and understanding.

The next point is that it is time we throw away certain level of bitterness which we always have against certain parties, perhaps because of one's tribal link or one's love for a party. I can understand this level of thoughts or feelings very well because we started with democracy not long. And further more as Africans, MOST of us have not understood the world we live in today when it comes to developing a nation, neither have we understood how development should come about.

The Chinese are not tackling their problems like the way we do it. In Ghana a party hopes that the party in government fails with its strategies to help develop the country. This is the African primitive mentality that you see among our majority foolish politicians who claimed they are degree holders. Unfortunately, the poor in mind who are many in the system support this primitive mentality and that is what you sometimes see and hear on our F M stations.

Is it not the same approach that failed us in Nkrumah's time with the construction of the Atomic power for electricity at Kwabenya?. He was opposed from all angles forgetting that we shall need it in the future as the population grows. Today is it not what we see happening and turning it into party fight of scoring political points? Where are those who opposed it? By all means they are Ghanaians who belonged to a political party in Ghana. Let's be smart in our political arena.

I am happy many of you there are somehow starting to realise that it is not a thing of a party but is about what that party is doing for you and your children's future.I blame nobody at this level but I am only happy to see that some of us have started being aware that it is about getting heads together on board to fight corruption. Anyway ending here is the best as we all now know that it's time to think of real national development.

ONLY A FOOL WILL INVEST IN GHANA WHERE HIGH AND QUALITY PRODUCTIVITY LEVELS ARE SO NONEXISTENT THAT IT DOESN'T TAKE A ROCKET SCIENTIST TO NOTICE AND EXPERIENCE THIS ON HIS FIRST VISIT TO GHANA.

EMPLOY WORKERS IN GHANA, AND THE FIRST THING ON THEIR MINDS IS TO LOOT THE VERY INPUTS THEY HAVE TO USE TO GENERATE THE INCOME THAT PAYS THEM THEIR WAGES.

EVEN SECURITY AND 24/7 SUPPLY OF BASIC UTILITY SERVICES LIKE WATER, ELECTRICITY AND GAS ARE A HUGE CHALLENGE TO GHANA'S UTILITY SERVICE PROVIDERS IN THIS 21ST CENTURY.

GHANA IS A FAILED STATE.
