As insulting as this article might be against elected ministers and appointed ones, there is the greatest measure of truth here not to be ignored. Forget about their insults, the ill sayings and boom speeches which makes them lesser in comparison to children quarrelling on the playing fields, there are armful opportunities to be ceased to show quality of leadership, ignored.
How many of them ever engage in programs and plans to act effectively on the duties they were appointed for? It is one thing ignoring your duties and responsibilities in the office. Another thing not having any checks from their senior officers who are likeminded and just as incompetent in their own roles. Another thing again where their fruitful mind only works towards the corruption to embezzle, squander and loot without any form of accountability and checks. Lets’ be honest the Prez could easily check all these misuse of public funds allocated but nothing happens because he doesn’t want to expose himself for any questioning either. I don’t mean only Prez Mahama and his NDC but all successive governments since Dr Nkrumah’s time.
I have said this in some of my previous responses to articles and I will say it again. No matter how much these leaders enrich themselves with the nation’s coffers at the expense of investments and development, in actual fact, they remain just as poor as the environment they have ignored. It would take someone with a divine oversight of understanding to be convinced by this statement made. It is only then would they develop the heart to work towards the preservation of life in the country by doing good practically and not the talks of doing good verbally alone.
Advanced nations have engaged in practical solutions to resurrect their economy after the economic meltdown quite recently. The African nations and especially the leadership are quite oblivious about the state of their environment and economy, how to recoup resources and galvanize their implementations to address the problems in the short and long terms. The blind leading the blind is just an understatement here. In the wake of making their presence felt and to be seen doing something, the negative effects take place to re-direct attention of the unmindful public towards a state of confusion. The public is at a total lost on any meaningful guidelines of what to ask and expect from their leaders but to cohere in a similar mind of confusion.
The school of monkey clans has effective leadership to steer them towards a natural survival instinct, whilst we African’s lack. So the writer is right about having every minister and including the Prez head, examined by psychiatrist first to deem them sane even after they have been elected. However it still wouldn’t work even if there was a legislation to check them before and after they resume office. This is a nation where bribery can get you everything you want including your electoral votes.

The MP’s truly have to be medically examined because, the reasons they continue to give to justify their ex – gratia booty are frivolous and smack of cognitive deficiency.
They claim that their residents are trooped by people who need help in paying their wards school fees and all the nonsense!! The fact of the matter is that they respond to such demands because they want a return of favor; to be voted back to power by their constituents. It therefore sounds to reason that this is a political quid pro quo!!
Why then would they expect the public to fund their individual political ambitions?
They really need a psychiatric evaluation to think properly!!!!

Kwaku, what you are saying is one of the flimsy excuses MPs have been giving for wanting more money. But the more money they take, it make the people poorer and that is that is why the poor people come to them for school fees since the MPs have become rich men overnight have and everybody else has become poorer.

Kwaku, the folks that are asking for money from these MPs are their own siblings, like your relatives ask you for help every day. Do you ask the government for money to dash your folks?
It is nonsensical for these sometimes nonentities that are voted to parliament because they can scream harder than everybody else, to insult our intelligence. Who are they kidding?
Are you one of them? Do you agree with that Jumah guy and his friends that think they are God's gift to all Ghanaians are saying?
Cassius would have had a way of describing Ghana’s current situation to a Brutus as he saw with Rome and Ceasar, this way, “I know that virtue to be in you, Brutus,
As well as I do know your outward favour.
Well, honour is the subject of my story.
I cannot tell what you and other men
Think of this life; but, for my single self,
I had as lief not be as live to be
In awe of such a thing as I myself.
I was born free as Caesar; so were you:
We both have fed as well, and we can both
Endure the winter's cold as well as he:
For once, upon a raw and gusty day,
The troubled Tiber chafing with her shores,
Caesar said to me 'Darest thou, Cassius, now
Leap in with me into this angry flood,
And swim to yonder point?' Upon the word,
Accoutred as I was, I plunged in
And bade him follow; so indeed he did.
The torrent roar'd, and we did buffet it
With lusty sinews, throwing it aside
And stemming it with hearts of controversy;
But ere we could arrive the point proposed,
Caesar cried 'Help me, Cassius, or I sink!'
I, as Aeneas, our great ancestor,
Did from the flames of Troy upon his shoulder
The old Anchises bear, so from the waves of Tiber
Did I the tired Caesar. And this man
Is now become a god, and Cassius is
A wretched creature and must bend his body,
If Caesar carelessly but nod on him.
He had a fever when he was in Spain,
And when the fit was on him, I did mark
How he did shake: 'tis true, this god did shake;
His coward lips did from their colour fly,
And that same eye whose bend doth awe the world
Did lose his lustre: I did hear him groan:
Ay, and that tongue of his that bade the Romans
Mark him and write his speeches in their books,
Alas, it cried 'Give me some drink, Titinius,'
As a sick girl. Ye gods, it doth amaze me
A man of such a feeble temper should
So get the start of the majestic world
And bear the palm alone.”
Cassius would have stated it this way about Mr. Jumah and Company "Why, man, they (these parliamentarians) doth bestride the narrow world, Like a Colossus, and we petty men, Walk under their huge legs and peep about, To find ourselves dishonorable graves"
I am done.

This might not be in the constitution but it is necessary as part of our unwritten constitution. Those who offer themselves to go to parliament must also be self made human beings. They must be people who go to parliament to serve and not to make it.
The danger is that once a parliament becomes the surest way of becoming a rich man, nothing good will ever come out these parliaments and they will continue to be Rubber Stamps. This is one of the reason why I personally is opposed to any increment in the number of the Rubber Stamps in our parliament. Unfortunately, the EC forced an additional45 on mother Ghana shortly before the last election. The ruling elites always interpret the constitution in a way that serves their narrow interest but harms the interest of Ghana and Ghanaians.
Don't we have even a single MP who could have stood up among the lot and say that it was wrong to give themselves so much money?

In my viw the issue is not of mental health per se, it is whether these individuals understand what their roles and responsibilities should be as MPs. In any constitutional parliamentary democracy, there are RULES OF THE HOUSE and in my view many go into parliament simply because they can campaign (including foul-mouthed campaigns) in their local constituencies where they are known (or with some monetary and other influneces including family name, relations etc.).
Somehow these idiots think that just because they have been voted for without a challenge to their silly and insulting utterancers, they have the right to err such views even in parliament. I would argue that the party Whips and the Speakers are partly to blame for not 'sanctioning' these recalcitrant MPs when they use foul and abusive language 'unbecoming Members of Parliament'.
I have lamented this state of affairs over the last few months and argued that quite a number of these individuals individuals who especially take to the air waves and insult, falsely accuse and mislead the public about the political process and their colleagues should be brought to book.
That shoulkd be our first port of calleven before we declare them INSANE!
