Hon. Minister Iddrisu should note that Gateway is one of 5 Destination Inspection companies operating in Ghana, a highly competitve area of trade facilitation that is constantly under threat from MOFEP, which is backing CEPS to take over. This gift of computers is a double edged sword, because the new Minister is also backing MOFEP in the CEPS take-over bid, which is driven by revenue hunger not trade facilitation and effectiveness. And why is MOTI taking this gift from only one of the 5 DI companies anyway. Watch these things. Because Ministry accept donor support from development partner countries does not mean they can extend their begging bowl to the very companies whose activities they directly regulate. At best this is unethical.
