It would appear that those in control of the NDC, for the time being, were bent on excluding other bona fide members of the Party who may wish to lay democratic claims to who becomes the next flag bearer of the Party by excluding them even before the mortal remains of the demised President were interred. It is also symptomatic of how political party elites in Ghana and Africa worm their way into the confidences of persons perceived as likely to ascend to power positions for purposes of eventual personal economic gain at the expense of the generality of the mass of Party members and the Nation which every President swears to serve under the Constitution...

"IT IS ONLY A FOOL, WHO ALLOWS HIS TESTICLES TO BE STEPPED ON TWICE"-------GO OUT THERE AND RECEIVE YOUR REWARD, ALL GHANAIANS. GO AND PAY THE PRICE FOR YOUR FOOLISHNESS. YOU DON'T GIVE A SECOND MANDATE TO AN INCOMPETENT AND CORRUPT GOVERNMENT, NO!! NOT AT ALL, THAT IS ABOMINATION IN DEMOCRACY, VERY SUICIDAL. HAD NDC MANAGED THE ECONOMY WELL, THESE ECONOMIC PROBLEMS WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN THE SITUATION. NDC HAS PRESIDED OVER THE BIGGEST RESOURCES GHANA HAS EVER HAD. THEY HAVE ALSO CONTRACTED MORE LOANS THAN ANY OTHER GOVERNMENT IN OUR HISTORY, BUT THEY HAVE NOTHING TO SHOW FOR THIS. GHANAIANS SHOULD HAVE ENJOYED SOME ECONOMIC PROGRESS AT THIS TIME IN OUR HISTORY. THE ECONOMY IS COLLAPSING BECAUSE THE GOVERNMENT IS SO CORRUPT. TO RESCUE THE SITUATION, THE POOR IS NOW BEING FORCED TO PAY. THIS IS INJUSTICE. THIS IS NOT THE GHANA KUFFOUR HANDED OVER TO NDC, HE EVEN ADDED FRESH CRUDE OIL WELLS. NPP TRANFORMED GHANA TO A MIDDLE INCOME ECONOMY WITH LIMITED RESOURCES BUT GOOD POLICIES. NDC IS WOEFULLY REVERSING THESE NPP ACHIEVEMENTS. GHANA'S CURRENT SITUATION IS VERY DISTURBING. WHEN THE HISTORY IS TOLD, IT WILL BE SAID THAT GHANAIANS WERE OFFERED FREE SECONDARY EDUCATION, IMPROVED UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE, SOCIAL HOUSING FOR THE POOR AND AN EGALITARIAN SOCIETY BUT 50% SAID NO THANK YOU. THEY PREFERRED ECONOMIC "WOYOMISATION" , PHANTOM DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS, PHILANDERERS FOR LEADERS, MACHIAVELLIAN DISRESPECTFUL CORRUPT LOUTS AND A VISIONLESS EVIL GOVERNMENT. I AM SO PROUD I VOTED FOR NANA AKUFFO ADDO.

NOW ITS YOUR OWN TURN TO FILE YOURS:
AT LEAST, JOHN MAHAMA HAS DECLARED ALL HIS TAX RETURNS AS GOVERNMENT APPOINTEE SINCE 2008, WHEN HE BECAME A VICE PRESIDENT AND THEN PRESIDENT (BUT HOW CAN THIS EVEN BE, OR MAHAMA WAS DOING OTHER BUSINESSES)
BUT HE HAS, WHETHER IN MARCH OR APRIL FOOL...
WHAT ABOUT YOUR TAX RETURNS, KWESI PRATTLE PRAT!
YOU HAVE TOLD US YOU HAVE CONTRACTS WITH RADIO AND TELEVISION MORNING SHOWS. YOU COLLECT FEES FROM MANY NDC FUNCTIONARIES AND SPONSORS, WHO HANG ON EVERY WORD YOU WHISPER IN YOUR LISP VOICE. YOU RECEIVED HUGE SUMS OF MONEY FROM LAURENT GBAGBO WHEN YOU AND ARCHER WENT TO SEE HIM IN HIS BUNKER AS REPORTED BY TV FRANCE. YOU TOOK MONIES FROM LIBYAN EMBASSIES TO ORGANISE DEMONSTRATIONS FOR MUAMMAR GADDAFI. YOU GO TO U S EMBASSIES TO GOSSIP ABOUT GHANAIANS AS REVEALED IN THE WIKILEAKS, AND AT ALL COST YOU GOT PAID.
FILE YOUR TAX RETURNS ON ALL THESE ...
WE KNOW YOU SENT YOUR CHILD TO A HIGH FEE PAYING LAW SCHOOL IN LONDON, WHICH MAKES YOU OUT OF THE ORDINARY. YOU ARE A PRIVATE CONSULTANT AND SPEAKER AT CONFERENCES AND SYMPOSIA ACROSS THE COUNTRY AND THE SUB AFRICAN REGION, AND DRAW HUGE RETAINER FEES. YOU ALSO OWN A PRIVATE NATIONAL NEWSPAPERS AND NEVER CEASE TO BE ON THESE MEDIA ONLINE WEBSITES, TALKING AND TALKING AND TALKING EVERYDAY GENERATING HUGE SUMS OF MONIES TO YOUR GOOD SELFISH SELF. YOU SAID IT YOURSELF THAT YOU WILL GO HUNGRY IF YOU DO NOT GO ON THESE MANY OR EVERYDAY MEDIA SHOWS, SPEAKING ON EVERY KNOWN ITEM OR AGENDA AND TOPIC UNDER THE SUN, MOON AND STARS...HOW MUCH ARE YOU PAID IN ALL THESE MANY, MANY UNDERTAKINGS AS MEDIA GURU...
WOULD YOU ALSO FOLLOW JOHN MAHAMA'S LEAD AND DECLARE YOUR TAX RETURNS, IF YOUR SELF APPOINTED CLAIM OF BEING A PATRIOT OR NATIONALIST IS TO BE BELIEVED, KWESI PRATTLE PRAT.

So he should have filed it on the 28th which is the last working day of March. That is how the regulation works. Maybe Ghanaians need education on tax issue. So assuming the end of March was a Sunday, will you wait until Monday 1st April to submit? No you will submit on the Friday becasue you know Saturday and Sunday are not working days.
Submission is meant to be the last working day of the Month, if the last working day falls on a public holiday, then you submit the day before. Those are the tax rules.
Rules are rules. End of March is end of March, the president missed the deadline, if even he the president does not know this, then i am not suprised people like you do not see the error in his judgement.

If the end of March falls on Easter holiday, then it falls on you the tax payer to get your taxes filed well before the last working day of the month of the deadline not the working day after the deadline.
Why is this so difficult for some people to understand. Deadlines are deadlines. It is all about discipline and the president has demonstrated the gross indiscipline in our society! We cannot obey simple rules, if the president is missing deadlines, what sort of message is he sending out the youth and even foriegners.
One should not even wait till the last day to file anyway so as not to get caught out.
This is unacceptable and we should not condone such indiscipline from no one less than the president himself.

What does President Mahama's late filling of his income tax, Pastors and Imams traveling to Foreign holy lands looking for WHATEVER, or any other such non issues have to do with meeting the basic needs of the toiling and grossly neglected Masses?
I strongly believe that some of these people are mere actors, who are being paid to create distractions by discussing non issues.
There are times when Mr. Pratt makes intelligent comments, however, this time I think that he's being very petty, and is engaging in nit picking. His time and experience used to address more pertinent issues.

So Pratt, show us that you filed tax on time? Ghana has come a long way - where heads of state do not pay tax.
So Mr Pratt, who us a better example with your personal tax record - indicating that, you have paid on time.

Wait a minute, guys, filing a tax return is different from paying taxes, not so? I am sure the President has been paying taxes he is only filing his tax return (and well there is room for him to be late). Even in more developed tax systems there is a date and the only thing that you get for not filing on time is delayed treatment of your case and if there is any return due you you do not get it on time or you do not get it with interest. Give us a break guys. Several days to the end of March were holidays this year so what are we talking about? Let us be civil and level headed .
