It would appear that those in control of the NDC, for the time being, were bent on excluding other bona fide members of the Party who may wish to lay democratic claims to who becomes the next flag bearer of the Party by excluding them even before the mortal remains of the demised President were interred. It is also symptomatic of how political party elites in Ghana and Africa worm their way into the confidences of persons perceived as likely to ascend to power positions for purposes of eventual personal economic gain at the expense of the generality of the mass of Party members and the Nation which every President swears to serve under the Constitution...

Check your facts..NPP worked within the time limits alloted them - 21 days to file, and worked within the stipulated time that the court gave for them to present the respondents request. Kenya's constitution only gave them a few days to file the petition and the courts decided to act as quickly as possible (barring all delay tactics and warning everyone to be cautious) So you see..we are all guided by rules. Whether Kenya had enough time to present evidence from the 36K polling stations within the time alloted by the constitution, still will be debated by the people. What Ghanaians have to look at is how quickly the courts respond to petitions: Unless they never expected anybody to file a petition, our flaw is whether or not they set out clear guidelines as to how quickly the courts will act in order not to disrupt activities in the nation. There was absolutely no need going ahead with the swearing in and subsequent appointments until this issue was resolved. It throws dust in the air: now the chief respondent needs to manage the country and also participate in clearing his name. How effective do we expect him to be until this whole issue is behind him? He is human and cannot put the national affairs ahead of his defence. He has divided attention and in the end, the whole nation suffers - are we better off declaring a winner just for the sake of it or are we better off declaring the rightful winner as the winner for the nation to move ahead? If the courts find that there were irregularities (based on the rules given to all the parties by the EC) then what? If they find that there were no irregularities, then clearly NPP should accept and move on. But to assume that the petitioners will rollover and accept the declaration as is, knowing that irregularities occured is utopian. Let the chips fall where they may - transparency is the key to resolving all this.

This meant the respondents had to be given a chance tor respond or did you just want the SC to decide basing itself on what the NPP said? So blame nobody for the SC taking time.

Ajoke, you are speaking as though you know everything was free and fair. Just take away any party affiliations: if it becomes evident (proven in court) that the numbers that the EC tallied which led to Mahama being declared the winner were flawed/ tempered with/ cooked etc will you now accept that infact Mahama was not the winner and that the rightful winner should be appointed? If and only if it is proven will you make that step? If you will, then there is no need "putting blood on anyone's hands" This case is one of numbers - if EC followed its own rules and guidelines to ALL the parties (not NPP alone) then any number that was wrongfully included should have been excluded...if this is so grave that a revote is required, then so be it. What some people are refusing to see is this: Of the two (Nana and Mahama) who has taken all the steps he can take to make himself the leader/winner? The one who made provision years before the elections for it to be rigged in his favour or the one who after voting, found that there were irregularities and is following the laid down rules to ensure that any irregularities is eliminated now and in the future. I leave you to ponder over this and give yourself an objective answer.

This fellow Afari Gyan was warned by wise leaders of our churches to put national safety ahead of constitutional powers granted him, following the trend of events being cultivated along his actions. He could either not foresee nor care for our safety. He could have waited a few days to re-examine the results as requested - a process far less expensive and precarious than this present time bomb.
The Supreme Court erred in their order to disallow cameras from telecasting the proceedings, a measure which would have mollified tempers and shed light on knotty legal intricacies which cause delays - a stand likely to induce understanding and to separate speculation from reality into accepting a verdict.
I dont know if the Supreme Court must rescind that decision in order to calm national tempers into accepting what is otherwise billed as a closed door kangaroo court hidden from the ordinary voter who matters the most in this legal drama.
Time element is a challenging factor in measuring voter temperament. The longer it takes the more argumentative our dialogues degenerate into bitter discourse, giving rise to ugly insinuations and threats.
We as a nation have absolute right to voice our displeasure and demand changes. However we must preclude violence from such right to bring sanity to our dormant mechanisms, be it political, judicial or administrative.
On many occasions our courts have disappointed our patient minds with their inability to deliver timely justice. There are thousands of people incarcerated in our overcrowded and filthy prisons awaiting trials- some awaiting trial for as long as six years. Where do these people turn towards ? Our civilization is at peril if we allow denial of justice to be downplayed in answer to incompetence and lack of will to hold moral grounds.
We must be serious as a nation with expressed willingness to construct new minds. The prevailing minds are archaic and not working well for the nation.

In Kenya, did the Petioners set down the same issues as done here by the losers? Did the losers amend their petition and also withdraw some applications only to restore them? Did the losers usurp the position of the supreme court in Kenya and filed a process as to how the trial should be conducted and served the process on the Respondents? Is Hon . Akumiah expecting the Respondents to fold their arms without filing additional issues ? I believe that the supreme court is doing a great job and those ignorant of court processes and procedures should stay off and allow the justice system to roll unimpeded.

It is not the fault of the SC that the process is taking so long. We have rules which must be adhered to. Every good lawyer knows that and if the NPP lawyers and their clients were smart and wanted an early resolution, I am sure they themselves know what they should have done. Unless they are ignorant, in which case, they have lost the case even before it began!
I don't respect the views of Akomea and find him rather unintelligent and immature, The best thing for the party to do right now is simply SHUT UP, and allow the SC to do its work, IN COURT and stop 'dictating' to them. I am sorry!

Center to all this corruption now is the ewe tribalism that has a stranglehold on the ndc and now most of the state agencies that are to combat this menace. yes corruption exists in all countries but ours has become more notorious than the nigerian , during kuffuor's time it was know he and his cronies would try and secure a 0.5 to 5% commission now ndc is known for not less than 20% going up all the way to 200 300 or even 500% . loans achieve even parliamentary approval are withdrawn as business wise it just doesnt make sense. the civil service especial ministry of finance has turned into a money grabbing arm twisting mafia that up to 3 years ago would frustrate any endeavor undertook en if one would not pay , in short the process would move at a snails pace . the last couple of years if you dont pay your files and docs would go missing or you would eventually be accused of defrauding the state or some other fabricated heinous crime and end up with the bni , police or some other agency of repression fighting for your life. in short would take by force from you what you did not willingly give. Some now advocate for JJ methods of dealing with this system of doom, but rawlings style of governance can never come back as the revolution propaganda and media hype was nothing but a sophisticated cover and camouflage of the ewe persecution of the Akans mainly the ashantis as by the end of the Acheampong era most govt institutions and factories were being managed by Ashantis, today most are in the hands of northerners , Gas and ewes so to clean up the babies and fruits of the revolution with another is impossible , the only solution is now a civil war . now tribalistically speaking without being accused again of chauvinism or Akan nationalism we have a situation whereby this alliance of the ewes , part of the gas and northerners , that is less than 15 % of the population by varios means of election engineering , rigging divide and rule now are looting as quickly as they can all the wealth of the nation as they know this can not last forever . unfortunately when they are done we shall be left with a war and no future for our children due to our own laziness to see the truth for what it really is . here is a govt so busy with their cover up for the SADA that not a single minister or leader to come out this Easter with a message of hope as their hearts are filled with so much evil and hate . yes this govt will leave one day for sure despised and hated by the people , never to come back again.

The NPP is behaving as if the Supreme Court's decision will go thier way. They see it as the last attempt to wrestle power from President Mahama. The people of Ghana rejected you and i do not believe in anyway whatsoever that Nana's petition will be upheld by the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court will never make Nana the president of Ghana contrary to the wishes of the majority of ghanaians who elected him.

Asante people, the CIA agents will never allow Ghana to know peace. In 2012, I sent a message to Ghana today radio. I made mention that, if Ghana will know peace Asante , Volta and Northern region should rule themselves.
Because this group of people sold Kwame Nkrumah to CIA. These people do not like peace. They think, they know more than any body in Ghana. You assume that, the candidate of NPP is Dog, the Asante people will come out like dogs and vote for that dog.The same in the Volta.Asante people always think that,Ghana is for them only. When Mills was president, Asante people called fantes as Jokers. They forget that Egya Koo is not fante, Egya konimo is not fante, Akrobotu is not fante. All those who are making so called Ghanaian film are not fantes. When Busiah came to office, the first thing he did, is to devalued Ghana cedis for the first time in Ghana history. He gave all the money they are fighting to put in their pocket and Nkrumah was not allow them to all the Asante people.Asante devil man called Afrafa was the first man to put two fantes men in firing squad and put pistle in their ears. When J.J did the same to him Asantes people cries everyday. When Kufour came to office he allowed Afrafa to be reburied but not Ata and yeboah whom Asante devil Afrafa killed.Asante people are knowing in the history as betrayer, devil, selfish, and war like people. They are mostly responsible for the slave trade in Ghana. These people do not like peace. They kind that, they are better than anybody. If you do not know devil, please look at the character of Asante people. They destroyed Ghana,by selling Nkrumah to CIA and returned and started blaming people.Asante, Asante, Asante they believed and respects their king more than the president. They used to called him pepeni. The devil people.

I cannot believe why up till now we have people in Ghana who still support NDC for this daylight robbery, even though there are clear evidence of rigging of elections. I do not blame them, it is illiteracy, even look at how most people construct their tenses and their spellings. I am afraid, if this is the way Ghanaians want to build the Democratic and Constitutional institution for Mother Ghana, and leave it behind for our children to inherit, then Ghana does not have a future legacy to boast of. After all these dumso dumso and bad infrastructural base that the NDC is leaving for Ghana, and yet people do not reason and still follow them, then I am sorry there are so many things wrong with most peoples' mental faculty.

It should be pointed out that in Kenya the law has set a window of two weeks to hear and resolve a Presidential election dispute. The panel of Judges in Kenya referred to this timeous costraint by throwing out a few other affidavits during the trial. The president elect in Kenya is also not sworn into office during this legal challenge period.
I believe in Gahana there is no time frame(?)for the resolution of a disputed Presidential election. Furthermore the President elect in Ghana is sworn into office even before/during the legal challenge to his/her eligibility.
