It is extremely incongruous for anybody to suggest that, in the spirit of good governance, transparency and effective accountability, there should be no disclosure, partial disclosure or full disclosure.
The lack of transparency with it's consequential lack of accountability, hs been one of the most pressing factors, that has stalled our growth and development, why, because,it has created a system, where there's is widespread abuse of the system leading to fraud and corruption, with the taxpayer, being the end loser. The fact of the matter is, taxpayers money has been employed and invested in PPPproject, as it were, to bridge the gap between the north and the south, in the area of poverty alleviation. Ghanaians are saying that, since our monies is what was invested into the project, they want to know fully, how the monies was spent, and was it a good investment and at the end of the day, are we going to recoup our invetsment? If it's a private investor investing his own funds without any taxpayer funds being involved, it could be forgiven. You don't invest Ghanaians funds and say, you are not going to tell them, what it was used for in a project costing 150 billion cedis, with virtually nothing to show for it. That flies in the face of common sense if it was your own money. We need probity and serious accountability of the public purse.

Ghanaians should praise the Effutu MP doing his work as a Parliamentarian for getting the executive to account for their actions. Akomea's vouching for the company is neither here nor there. The question is whether they have used the State's resources for the purposes it was meant to be used. I am not a lawyer but the 'renowned' lawyer's assertion that full disclosure of the transaction is laughable. There is truth in the adage that "travel and see". Thompson should spend sometime in the West and see whether holding companies to account for actions have led to the collapse of corporate governance.

This is a credit to Akomea. This is the type of politics that is badly needed in Ghana to accelerate national advancement. Lies, innuendos and fraudulence utterances, purely on party sentiments than national interest will always set the nation backwards. Opposit views must always be supported by logic and facts and by this manner respect and acknoledgement would be accorded to our politicians and political/social commentators. It will also expose the fake and the irrelevants in the system. Academic decorations, certificates or status are not the 'all and all' to solving Ghana's challenging problems, (not panacea). Ghana must move on. Too much of fools taking the country for a ride!!. Well done, AKOMEA!.
