What does it take to name our streets and give each building or property a number in our country. to the extent that we are waiting for our so call development partners to come to aid to do this. And true to it, they came to our aid with money since president kuffour gave that issue a weight and i was optimistic it was going to get done. to my amazement and disappointment he left office without naming a single street.

Better late than never, beautiful move Mr. president, Sir, please demonstrate a sense of National/PanAfrican pride when naming our streets, some people will have problems with a monument honoring President Kwame Nkrumah, but will welcome a George Bush Highway in Ghana, talk about slave mentality, future generations will judge us by by our conscious behavior.
For those of you who may be confused please allow me clarify, the roadway named after George Bush was constructed by the NPP government, I would've been much happier if they had named it after President Kufuor, Nana Akufo Addo, or any African of their choice.
Police personnel who put their lives on the line every day, doctors who save lives every day, teachers who go beyond the call of duty to educate us etc. these Ghanaians should be considered as local heroes whose names should be considered when naming streets.

Accra's Streets are already named and number. We can't see the names becuase the pushcart boys keep stealing the name plagues for scrap metal.
I now this because the exercise of naming and numbering streets has been on-going since the Rawlings era. Kuffuor in his first term when AMA was under Jake's management also continued this policy, extending it to other cities that included Tamale.
Mahama, what you need to do is empower the authorities to ENFORCE the laws and ordinances of the country. Pushcart operators are supposed to operate only in designated market areas not roam all over the city stealing anything they find valuable from street signs to manhole covers.
Arrest these pushcart operators outside their designated operational areas (we even see them pushing carts on major highways such as the N1 motorway and the Ring Road). While at it also arrest all those illegal Okada operators at Korle Bu, Makola, Kaneshie, Weija, etc. The NDC government over the last 4 years has failed miserable in this area of enforcing traffic laws. Even the forces of law and order have themselves become violators of the traffic laws.

How independent are the tourists who chose Ghana as a holiday destination?
Tourism is becoming the buzz word in Ghana these days. The Government and various groups are focusing on cashing in our 50th birthday celebrations. Is the Government taking actions?
Have we achieved the key stages of a sort of developments to attract the tourists in the last 49 years of our independence? While many communities are actively improving their underdevelopment others are just waiting for the Government with commnuity developments.
Ghana is blessed in so many ways. We have adequate good drinking water in many areas, a sort of adequate electric supply, good weather and a warm crowd of people.
What is the missing gap in our development?
? Lack of bridges on many of our rivers to bring communties closer together
? Limited Street management strategies-
? Lack of Road Sign posts to communicate with the motorist
? Lack of tourists information centres
? Lack of good infrastructure
? Lack of basic services for villages
? Lack of an effective transport systems, Clear Trotro stops for passengers
? Lack of a regular clean up in all our cities and the communities
? Lack of road map for all areas.
? Lack of sense of an effective road directions.
? Lack of security or quick response from the police to make the tourist safe- though communities do provide this unofficially
This is become clear why many tourists do need a tour guide most of the time. Or are they independent? All these issues needs to be of a priority before Ghana could even start thinking of any advertisement of tourism

You are a fool, grow up you never make sense.
HURRY MR PRESIDENT.
GREEDY BASTARDS INTERCHAGE, NDC FOOLS
Don't take A ONE-MAN DECISION and give just any name or ASK PEOPLE TO BID FOR THEIR NAMES TO BE PUT ON STREETS. Sit down with the Chiefs and famililes in GReater Accra and take a joint decision with them. Do you hear?
Naming of streets is also important. At least it say something about the country. We have to move away from the practice where we use WAAKYE SELLER, THE BIG GUTTER THE MANGO TREE etc to locate places. Good order, Mr. prez.
The chaotic manner in which we still build today shows how primitive and uncivilised we are. Naming streets in Ghana is a monumental task but we have to start somewhere. A journey of thousand miles is started with one step
My question to Mahama is that, this must be done through data base system? How much money has he been given to the AMA boss to start with this project? This is what Ghanaians must know. Thank you all.
I like this idea very much, perhaps this would facilitate google mapping and the use of a GPS. It is step in the right direction especially for businesses. Also put on the agenda to tar all roads.
Good start chief, just check the corruption sir
He knows it cannot be done by AMA which cannot even keep up with their regular work.
PLS WHY THE INSULT YOU MUST ASHAME OF YOURSELF.LONG LIVE AFRICA
Can we be civilized, have respect for each other and get along please?
