How stupid can they be that they will notice the building is not structuarally sound after the fact?

Those of us old enough to remember the original 'Job 600' building are simply horrified at its present external appearance. The gun-metal grey cladding does not do justice to the magificence of this historical edifice, built for an OAU simmit in 1963, or thereabouts.
I suspect that like every new project in Ghana, it is probably funded by an external loan or donation, instead of taxation from our citizens' resources. The approval therefore had to be rushed through for reasons of political expediency and without public consulation in order for it to materialise. This is the result of relying on freebies- so there really is no such thing as a "free lunch" after all.
Ironically, despite the scant and reckless regard for the most basic town planning principles, we learn today that Mahama had the audacity to confront the Mayor of Accra about the congestion in our cities!!!
