At the height of a political corruption trial, the prosecuting attorney attacked a witness. "Isn't it true," he bellowed, "that you accepted five thousand dollars to compromise this case?"
The witness stared out the window, as though he hadn't hear the question.
"Isn't it true that you accepted five thousand dollars to compromise this case?" the lawyer repeated loudly.
The witness still did not respond.
Finally, the judge leaned over and said, "Sir, please answer the question."
"Oh," the startled witness said, "I thought he was talking to you.
They will get a lawyer to defend them.

This Maputo report would not have gone anywhere if Prof Mills was alive. There are culprits in this case who saw the late president as their godfather. It should be a lesson to all of us.

We have heard more damning reports of financial malfeasance all over but nothing is been done to stop it. After the investigation what next, or the same old story?

Josiah, nothing will be done after any investigation. The whole Minister of Sports was on an FM station this morning stating that the Ministry initially submitted a budget of over GHC400 million to the Ministry of Finance which was slashed to the less than GHC60 million and was thus justifying the actual expenditure of about four times the approved budget. If a whole Minister thinks this way when enlightened Public servants in Ghana know that Ministries prepare budget estimates and MOFA, after scrutiny and the national purse presents to Parliament and the associated Ministries are supposed to work within the approved budget. My brother Josiah go and sleep for the government of Ghana has no 'Wofaase'
